Anthony and his wife went above and beyond any words I can describe. The pictures don't do it justice either. I had my mother, teenage son and daughter with me and we felt like we were at my Uncle's cabin on the lake. The hospitality was above and beyond, they had everything we hadn't thought of, and we weren't nickled and dimed for anything. You HAVE to add the boat cruise/entertainment to your stay. I've been all over and this Lake is massive, absolutely gorgeous and CLEAN. Forget Cumberland, Center Hill, Chicamauga, Percy Priest and others. Anthony showed us all the islands, several great swimming spots, numerous picturesque scenes, and more. The facility has memory foam mattresses, everything you need and they just continued to share their hospitality showing us how things were built, their amazing gardens and mountains. We know we will return and are already looking to plan our next trip, maybe this time take him up on one of the island stays where you get to boat, but they set you up completely on a private island to be able to take in a sunset, enjoy the entire lake and nature experience, but in true glamping fashion.

His boat was spotless and looked brand new and he even brought us water to drink. His driving skills and lake knowledge where also top notch. Our kids loved hearing about the history of the lake and he took them to some great swimming spots. He goes the extra mile to take care of his guests. Sure, we saw…read moresome water views of the city and bridges, yet we only traveled from the docks near Volunteer Landing to Crescent Bend on the Tennessee River, a distance of approximately 3 miles. About 10 years ago we took the same boat ride and traveled farther down the River. Along the route, a man narrated our short journey pointing out buildings and markers along the way--however, with diners carrying on conversations, background music playing, dishes clanking and the engines roaring, it was difficult to hear even half of what he said. Again, the buffet lunch tasted fine, nothing outstanding, yet the chicken appeared to be seasoned with pepper and maybe a bit of salt. Perhaps a Chicken Piccata with slices of lemon in a creamy sauce or chicken-broth-seasoned sauce would have been more creative. The stewed cinnamon-sugar apples with pastry, served warm in the buffet might have been offered at the end of the food line as a dessert and in a separate dish. Instead, it appeared after the buttery biscuits and before the cold pasta salad with cucumbers and tomatoes and the hot carrots and corn. Overall, perhaps the paddle wheeler is an excellent experience for a first-time rider and a wonderful party venue for special events like weddings, birthdays and anniversaries. Having sailed twice before, this $45 per person ride (there were 4 of us) needed a more clearly-heard narration, a longer ride, and perhaps more creative food. Kudos to the servers, though! Attentive and friendly!

We caught several fish, and most importantly, my kids each caught a fish and I didn't have to worry about untangling their lines or helping them put some bait on a hook. Not a terribly bad way to spend five hours in Atlanta…read more They say to be at the meet up point 15 minutes before the tour start time of 900am. The tour guide didn't show up until 900am. He checked us in, and some of the prepaid people were missing. He calls his boss, who presumably reaches out to the missing. We then spend the next 15 minutes sitting in the Peachtree Center as he describes the center and the surrounding area, just killing time to see if the missing arrive late. We finally get going, and the tour guide talks nonstop, in a booming voice, with the microphone turned up full volume, and he plays the harmonica for brief musical interludes. Quite peculiar. At least the bus had air conditioning, although rather weak at times.
