Your bill includes a tip for the kitchen, but it also says that the business cannot pay tips for waitstaff. Really? I paid $16.75 for basic breakfast eggs, potatoes and sausage. Toast was $1.50 extra. Coffees were $3.75 each. My partner and I shared one plate to cut costs. After the tip, the bill came to $33 and change. For one very basic breakfast! From a positive aspect, the place is immaculate. We probably could have refilled our coffee (VT Coffee) for no extra charge. Tables were very clean and I've never seen a cleaner restaurant floor. The staff who delivered our food were a grade above average. In exchange for the priciness and rigid rules, you do get a good meal in nice surroundings, but the price shocked me after all the extra charges.

They must use a laminated dough instead of a regular enriched yeasted dough so you get sweet cinnamon flavor in every flakey buttery bite.

The cookies are very big, for almost $5 a pop - these are on the pricey side but make a nice treat. Ideal for special occasions or for gifting since they come in a beautiful box. We tasted a peanut butter chocolate cookie and a triple berry oatmeal variety - both were very good, warm, extremely soft and mushy. If you like underbaked, cakey, ooey gooey style of cookies, rather than a crisp, these will be for you. They are however very oily - fingers were glistening after eating these! The flavor of the cookie batter itself is somehow not amazing, they're good but there's some richness missing. The toppings are what make the cookie stand out. I wish they had a wider range of flavors constantly on display, having to wait week for week without knowing what is in store can be annoying. He spoke not a single word until I spoke to him. His demeanor toward me was most unwelcoming for reasons unknown. He looked at me as if to say, "What are you doing here?", almost as if I were some sort of extraterrestrial. Noticing the name on his business cards and sensing his discomfort, I simply said, "I'm here (attending) for a friend. Are you Mr. Hoffman?" He simply stated "Yes" with the same "Why are you here?" facial expression. There were cupcakes available to sample (he did not offer one). I was hoping to perhaps place orders for future functions at work. I picked up his business card and walked to other booths. Several minutes later, I noticed a couple who walked up to Mr. Hoffman's booth and the interaction was like "day and night" compared to mine. Mr. Hoffman's demeanor was welcoming and he was fully engaged with the couple. I then walked back to Mr. Hoffman's booth and quietly placed his business card back on his table while he continued to speak to the couple. I am a firm believer in supporting local businesses. Experiencing such unwarranted standoffishness from Mr. Hoffman was puzzling. I haven't the slightest idea why Mr. Hoffman would act in such a cold manner toward me. The interaction with him was disheartening and quite sad - and truly the opposite of my experience with other Vermont business owners.

The breakfast burrito was also badly wrapped and leaking everywhere and had for some god awful reason been filled with hard boiled eggs instead of scrambled eggs which only made it harder to handle.
