Service was very good, but do not expect it to be cheap. I spent $27 on 4 pieces. We are not too happy with the chocolate cheesecake. It tasted salty and was not smooth. The texture is more cakey than light and velvety, which is how I like my cheesecakes. On the other hand, the carrot cake was very delicious. Nice texture and just enough sweetness and spice. I really enjoy stopping in to see Shelly's weekly specials. It is pricey but very good quality. I didn't take a picture of the dessert option, but expect $3/cookie, $7.50 for a cheesecake, $8/slice of carrot cake. It's not a generic bakery but specialty items from someone who puts a lot of effort into their product. I highly recommend the breads and the orange ginger cookies are fabulous. Wow wow wow!!! This place is incredible and lives up to the IG hype! I had been following them for months online then finally had the opportunity to try them in person and it was even better than expected! I went with my partner for a cute little date prior to a movie and it was perfect. We had the slow braised roast beef sandwich (EPIC!), tried several different cookies, a gluten free lemon blueberry muffin (droooool), and a mini apple pie! This place rocked my socks off- not just the best bakery on College street, likely best bakery in Vermont and I'm sure it's one of the best in New England. I am a pretty picky eater- sweets and treats connoisseur- and this place is definitely next level. The chef is also hilarious (dry humor) and very charming. I dont know if Shelley doesnt like kids or was being racist towards us. My 2 yr old and me were super excited to grab cakes for father's day and was the first one in line. My toddler went to grab a seat while i was buying the cakes, and dropped the cushion. Shelley immediately asked me to tell her not to do that. I apologized, picked up the cushion and got my coffee and cakes. While i was making my coffee, my toddler went behind the register to see what her crew was upto, to my surprise she asked us to LEAVE. I would understand her hostility if my toddler was being extremely naughty and breaking/pulling things, but my girl just walked in for a second and That's Shelley's response. I am a restaurant owner myself and this behavior is unacceptable. I could've asked for a refund and returned the 8cakes that i bought, but we weren't raised that way. Everyone in line saw your behavior, so I didnt have to create a scene since you showed them your true nature. Thank you for the delicious cakes, but what good are they when served with such a nasty attitude. Have a good father's day. read more
