Last minute birthday scheduling and they had some openings to accommodate last minute booking. Josh was helpful and patient with me and wife trying figure out what venue to book. Overall the kids and family enjoyed their time and the Hostess Melissa was very attentive during our time block. Will comeback for lunch or something. It was disappointing that the escape rooms are not open due to the pandemic, but we had a great time. We have been going here for years - both for the food and the fun. Best family fun in El Paso. Easy to get to (I-10 & Redd - close to 375), lots of parking, very clean and maintained. Nice landscaping (waterfalls!) and gorgeous desert sunsets. The go-cart track is fast but run very safely. Waterboats are fun in the summer and the mini-golf course is a good balance of challenge and fun for the little kids too. Strong inventory of video games (but I do wish they would bring back a pinball game or two!). As "grownup" parents, absolutely our favorite part of Adventure Zone is the food. We have lived in Texas for almost 20 years and hands down these are the best tacos ever! They got the recipe from the legendary McCrory's Tacos when that restaurant closed. Wow! The last time I was at Adventure Zone it was September/October of 2015 and in the span of almost two full years so much has changed. I got married, I adopted two more dogs, I decided to redesign our bedroom... and Adventure Zone stepped up their game! There's still some quirks to be worked out, but I saw a lot of changes and improvements. My hubby and I went to Adventure Zone specifically for McCrory's Tacos (check them out on Yelp too!). We liked them a lot- they just taste homemade. But what really got us to give Adventure Zone another shot was Aaron, the staff member manning the cash register when we were ordering. He was such a nice kid and he was genuinely excited about McCrory's and Adventure Zone... he didn't lead us wrong with the tacos so we figured why not give the putt-putt another go. It wasn't a busy day, but there was definitely enough staff around and they all were friendly and helpful. We paid for our clubs and golf balls (for only around $10 for two people, might I add) and were on our way. We started on the same coarse we did the first time, but this time we played both courses. From what I can tell all or most of the putting greens have been replaced. I think in total of the two 18-hole courses, we might've only seen two or three tears that looked like pretty normal wear and tear. And on the upside, they did have signs up letting you know they were aware of the tears and are in the process of fixing them (which I understand means replacing a large portion if not all of the greens on that one hole). Throughout playing we saw employees cleaning the water features and we actually talked to a couple of them. I lost on both courses, but I will say I think each hole is just difficult enough that it's challenging, but not heartbreaking. There was one hole that was right next to a water feature (I think like hole 12 or 13) where you're on a down slope so unless you can get a hole in one, chances are your ball is going in the water. I think somewhere down the line they may need to build up the retaining wall on that hole, but other than that the only issue I had was my beginner level putting skills. Adventure Zone is definitely progressing towards better things and as it stands, I actually like it (but I still hope they continue to improve). The pricing for the putt-putt and food were great so you could definitely make this a fun night out with friends, a significant other, or your whole family. read more

I usually have great food here for the tacos except the new staff and service has been lacking. They took way too long to ring people out in front of me last week and today they can't even charge me for food that was placed ahead of time. I'm not going to stand around for 20 minutes while you reboot your system. Either give the customer the food you already made and or say you take a raincheck or some sort. An absolute dive of the highest order, I don't know if Adventure Zone was as bad as it is now when it received all the praise it got from The El Paso Times but now it's bad, real bad... Almost scary! 1. The food is foul, I mean it's absolutely vomit inducing. I love soul food of any kind. Yummy, greasy, fried and all that but the tacos here are so nasty it's like the meat actually has grease in the tacos with the meat, it has a fat like texture, sort of like lard. They are served to you luke warm, so that adds to the nastiness and to top that off the veggies are all soggy and the cheese almost certainly came from a bag with a big name on it. Prices are shocking but it is an arcade style place so that's expected. 2. The facilities - they are shady looking, worn by the desert sun and if it rains... Flooded as well they are dirty and it's empty. There are party rooms in the back that look just as bad as the rest of the facility. The vending machines are filled with mostly old and I mean old gadgets, toys and things. Maybe I'm spoiled by Vegas but the prizes from the machines and the ticket prizes are all embarrassing. I know this is El Paso and we're in the middle of the desert but come on, a little effort wouldn't hurt! There was a Playstation 2 in the Stacker machine! I saw a 10 year old walk up to the machine, look at the Playstation 2 and go "Who would want that?" First world problems, I suppose, but still. 3. The employees were nice enough, but the service is pretty much dependent on how permitting you are and patient... Although they leave cleaning supplies like mop buckets laying around the facility, if you've got kids you're letting wander around this place you might want to double take when watching them if they leave that sort of equipment lying about. 3 MONTHS LATER UPDATE :: Not much has changed, in fact that same PlayStation 2 is in the same vending machine - the place, every time I go is almost totally empty and judging by some of the new reviews its not doing so well. 5 stars cause the place is fun. We had great customer service. Just 1 star for the bad mothers letting their miss behaved kids running around. Trying to play putt putt and these 5 year okss kept getting in the middle of our game, grabbing out ball and playing with it. No mom or dad in site. Another 3 teen girls blocking the course cause they wanted to play in the water features. They left their stuff all over the green. So we had to wait until they moved. I took photos to show the employees at the place. If these girls got hurt, the negligenting mom would sue. Oh and the bad mother letting her kids cut in line and act badly. For the parents who don't know they are not honoring the $20 2 hour unlimited play because of COVID. The place is extremely small as it is and with the "social distancing" they have lots of games turned off which sucks but my kid enjoyed herself and that's all that matters. They have young high schoolers working there. They were nice and polite. The food was TERRIBLE lol. I literally saw people ordering food for pick up. Like are you kidding me lol. They for sure use the cheapest ingredients and not a lot of it either. Overall just bad food. The bathroom wasn't really that dirty but the smell was pretty bad. I'm not too sure if I'd come back. They lost their touch in regards to McCrory's tacos. The tacos were soft and was missing it's unique flavor. My grandmother was a cook for over 30 years working at McCrory's old pharmacy, so I know how the taco should taste like. I hope it was a one off. read more

Two of my favorite things: mini golf and tacos! Adventure zone has lots of stuff to keep the kids entertained. Inside is an arcade and food area. Outside there are two mini golf courses, bumper boats, and I think (but have never used) a climbing wall thing, a bungee thing, and go cart things. First, the mini golf: the only mini golf (that I know of) on the west side of town. The courses are alright (there are two). They can be very tricky and sometimes in a more frustrating than fun way. But you can hit the ball over water and thru caves and other interesting stuff. I love mini golf so I'm always up for a game, but those who aren't mini golf fans may get bored/frustrated early. Now the real reason I come to Adventure Zone: the tacos. The are my favorite tacos. Period. There is nothing fancy about them, but they are hit the spot comfort food for me. They are greasy -- seasoned beef in fried corn tortillas with lettuce, tomatoes and the good white cheese -- but worth even the most ridiculous waits. (I've waited 30-45 minutes when it doesn't even seem to be crowded -- I don't know what the deal is.) If you get the Taco Plate, it comes with refried beans and rice which are also good. Service at Adventure Zone is not generally attentive...it is down right slow or non existent. As I mentioned, the tacos take forever, but even getting someone to take your taco order can take forever too. And getting clubs for the mini golf takes patience as well. ugh. This used to be one of my favorite places in El Paso, but the place has fallen to shambles and pretty much ruined our daughter's 13th birthday. First of all, the clueless teenage girl at the counter screwed up the food order and they had to make it twice. The pizza was swimming in grease, and even though they comped the rest of the food, my root beer was totally flat and tasted like the inside of a metal bucket. My husband bought tickets for the outdoor activities, and none of the attendants were even bothering to watch. As my daughter was on the trampoline, the guy was texting on his phone, and she tried to flip and landed on her face because he wasn't watching and didn't have the rigging up high enough for her height. The insides of the bumper boats were sticky, but worst of all was the golf course. All of the signs were broken, some of the foot bridges had shattered planks where you could easily break an ankle, and the water was so filthy it turned my stomach. There were plastic bags, bits of crud, and God knows what else floating in there. It was terrible, and my daughter was extremely disappointed that a once-beloved childhood place has ended up like this. I don't expect this place will be in business much longer. read more

Sadly it looks as though as this place used to be a lot of fun, but it is in terrible disrepair. I should have known it would not be worth the money when it was empty on a Saturday afternoon. The go karts broke down over and over again. I felt bad for the employees because they clearly cared about service but everything kept breaking down. The bumper boats were faded and weak. The trampoline looked so bad I wouldn't let my kids go on it. The mini golf turf was torn up and made putting difficult. Also they give everyone the same color ball, which is not ideal when you're playing as a group. Save your money. read more

I have been to Adventure Zone twice now, once four years ago when I first moved to El Paso, and today. I must say I am thoroughly dissapointed with the state of this establishment. The only reason we came here today was because we wanted to play some Putt Putt golf, and we had a limited budget to do so. The Putt Putt prices were fairly inexpensive at only $4.99 for adults, and $2.99 for kids under 6. The course looked pretty cool driving up, but this was a classic case of looks being decieving. When we finally got our clubs and balls, nothing special. Typical mini golf equipment. However when we got on the course, BIG dissapointment. The "greens" were in pitiful shape. Most of them had the artificial turf all torn up. Several holes were actually missing patches of turf completely, leaving just the faux rock showing underneath. I have added some pics showing this. Being so messed up, it really takes away from the fun of the game. It is obvious that Adventure Zone does not perform any type of maintenance on their putt putt courses, and frankly I will stick to Bob-O's in the future if I wish to play Putt Putt with the family. After we finally finished the nightmare of a Putt Putt course, we decided to not even bother with their second course (they have two 18 holes courses). We got change for tokens, and decided to let the boys play on some of the arcade games inside. The games were broken, many not even accepting your tokens, or "eating" your tokens and not letting you play. Also, they have a giant blow up bounce house inside as well. $5 per child to let them jump in a bounce house that you could rent daily for $60.. SMDH.. The staff was not friendly, and the place was too run down. New management is dearly needed if this place hopes to remain open in the future. We just moved here and were looking for a place to take the kids. Both of my kids absolutely love it!! The arcade is fully stocked with so many good games, and the outdoor activities are a blast. My son absolutely loves the bumper boats and go-karts! My oldest is special needs, and all the staff is so sweet an accommodating- so much patience! For as much as Adventure Zone charges for each birthday party, it's incredible to see how out of date and poorly maintained these machines are. Guitar Hero needs new guitars, SpongeBob racing game is falling apart. Table hockey takes your tokens, staff thinks you lie about the machine being a mess. Old western shooting area do es work. Could be a great place for fun but they have done zero maintenance since opening. Aside from the tacos nothing else is good about it. 1 out of every 3 games are broken. Carpet in game room is lifting and ripped, you can see the foundation. Bathrooms leak and faucets don't work. Golf course is run down and missing parts of the green everywhere. Pond is nasty stagnant water. So sad they've let this place go. Owners should come take a look and see how bad it is. Won't be returning! Came here the other weekend as part of a Yelp Event. Honestly, the timing was perfect, because my boyfriend's kids are here for the summer, and when looking for things to do, we saw that this place had some reviews saying it looked run-down, and had initially written it off. I'm really glad we had the chance to check it out. As for the food: In all, we tried the tacos (best you're probably gonna get anywhere for $1), the chicken tenders (okay, but better than Wing Daddy's), the fries (very good), and the beer (we had Ultras for $3.75 - can't beat that price!) As for the fun: A $20 game card kept two gamer kids busy in the arcade for about an hour total, but they mostly played games that you don't win tickets on, so maybe that's how we ended up leaving with half the points still available on the card. The arcade area is small, close to something like Peter Piper's Pizza. A couple games were closed down, and on each Guitar Hero game, one guitar was down, so you can't play against someone. They do also sell wristbands for play, which are priced by the hour. We played mini golf as part of the event, as well, which was really fun! They were pretty simple to look at (no pirate ships or windmills), but still fun! There were two different courses, and it looks like they just redid all the greens on them and the building looks freshly repainted. We didn't check out the Go-Kart course, trampoline, or Bumper Boats, but they all look fun. The boats are in need of a fresh paint job, but I'm under the impression that ownership is taking it just one step at a time. This place is an excellent alternative to Dave and Busters - you can have fun here without breaking the bank! read more

Rides may be closed temporarily, but the kitchen is on point. I ordered 15 tacos to go on my way home and by the time I got there they were ready. Tacos are hot, crispy and loaded with deliciousness. The salsa is tasty without lighting your mouth on fire. We have these at least once a week or would go into withdrawal. They are only a buck every Tuesday and Thursday. My friend and I had gone to BOBOS for an early fun time with our two small children ages 4 yrs old. We asked for tokens so they can play, and were refused service. As confused as we were, we spoke to the manger at BOBOS which was the THE OWNER To my surprise she said, there was a private party going on, as I turn around to see who & where the party was, it was ONE table of 8. 2 adults and 6 kids that were eating out of the whole darn large place. Our small children couldn't play "ONE"game?? The ugly manager said NO, it was a private party. And that there was a sign in the entrance of the door. I swear the paper looked like so small . Who in the world could see this???? So I asked if we stayed out of the way in the far corner we could explain to two excited children to stay in the one corner as not to interrupt anyone. My friend and I will supervise so there won't be any disruptions. The manager said NO l'm sorry I can't. The children were asking why? we are good, why?? we won't be in the way. My heart just broke for them. But the woman insisted No, No No. For this reason, I would give BOBO's a -1 for there establishment. I vowed "NEVER" to return again. I believe a childrens business is an amazing adventure, for children to have fun and have a memorable time. VERY VERY DISAPOINTED. I took my brother and sisters to adventure zone a couple years ago looking for some summer fun. We didn't have the greatest of experiences. Most of the arcade games did not work, we were constantly having to ask employees to replace the tokens the games ate. We ended up playing golf but the poorly maintained course made it impossible to have fun. Recently my brother asked me to take him to adventure zone one more time. Last week I decided to give adventure zone another chance. I was extremely impressed with all the new improvements that had been made. The entire place looked new and modern, it no longer looked rundown. The arcade was made up of brand new games. It reminded me a lot of Dave and busters, because the games are played using gift cards and the tickets are accounted for on the gift card instead of printed out (leaving you your hands free to play more games). I bought me and my brother two summer special bracelets. They only charged me 22 dollars per person to ride the go karts, bumper boats, and play golf an unlimited amount of times for three hours. Each unlimited bracelet also came with a free gift card for the arcade worth 1000 points or $10. My brother and I had tons of fun riding the go karts, and when we played golf I realized that adventure zone had invested plenty in completely remodeled both golf courses. After our bracelets expired we went inside to eat. The cashiers were extremely friendly, one of them even took time to bring our food to our table and ask if we needed anything else, even though it was not his job to wait on us. The hamburger I ordered turned out to be better than most of the burgers I've had at full fledged restaurants like Applebees and buffalo wild wings. My brother ordered their famous tacos and was not dissapointed. Both my brother and I belive that adventure zone is now better than bobos, especually because of the food and arcade. The go kart people had us sitting in the starting area breathing in the exhaust of the cart in front of us for like 15 min finally got out and was dizzy! The mini golf course is horribly maintained. Worst place I've been to in a very long time. Staff is poorly trained, if trained at all. Lines for bumper boats and carts take way too long because many of the carts and boats are out of order and breaking down on the spot. tried getting a refund for my tickets and there was no refunds given they only gave me my money's worth in tokens, only for me to find out half the arcade games were missing pieces and completely broken down. Once we finished our tokens we went to get a prize and they were out of most of their prizes too and we're very limited in selection. Got in a go-kart. Number 7, it's purple. As we were being stopped, I rammed into someone so hard that they had trouble standing up. Why did I ram into them? The go-kart had no brakes. I stepped on them. I stomped on them. I pumped them. Nothing helped. For $20 a person, you'd think the go-karts wouldn't be a rolling death trap, but I guess not. We left immediately after. Don't chance yourself or your kids on unsafe equipment. There was no apology, either. I watched the lady(?) running the go-karts step in and give it a spin herself. She had to run into the curb to make it stop. It wouldn't stop in the lane, either. She plowed into the go-karts up for repair. We watched them look it over, make no adjustments and put it back into rotation. I am never going there again. After going to Bob-O's and Gattitown, I'd rather trust my safety with them. Edit: March 18th 2013. You'll see there is a comment from the managerial staff down below here. If there has been a significant change in staff, perhaps they care about public safety now. I hope so, because that'd be great! But my experience stands. I will never go back because I do not want to get injured screwing around on unsafe equipment. It may be safe now, it may not be.
