Im not sure how ive gone this far into becoming a fan of Academy without reviewing them. This place…read morehss always been a promising spot for quality outdoor gear or any active lifestyle merch. Especially for their clothing section. They have an extensive selection of clothes for men, women, and children. I especially love looking at the clearance sections for any running clothes. I have definitely scored big there for Under Armour or Nike brands. Other places like Dicks could have stuff on clearance yet still be hella expensive. Academy does it right tho! I love that they also specialize in all sporting activity to include fishing, archery, and guns. They are all much more reasonably priced than most places too. They also sometimes sell ammo by the can which is stupid cheap. Yup, like a legit sardine can that you need to cut open. That was fun! Sometimes theres also a stupid cheap price for their folding chairs and gazebos which we have always taken advantage of! They have the best quality ones for the best price! One time i swear i saw a lady walk out with 5 or more chairs cuz they were so cheap!

Store on South Americas…read more To Corporate Management,I am writing to formally report an unacceptable and discriminatory experience at your El Paso location (201 South Americas Avenue). As a 28-year Navy Veteran and current high school teacher, I was treated like a criminal during a recent online order pickup.I arrived to pick up a shotgun and a pistol that I had already purchased online. I presented my receipt, ticket number, and debit card for verification. The transaction was handled by an elderly employee wearing a black mask. This employee demonstrated severe cognitive difficulties, repeatedly losing his pencil, misplacing my ID, and completely disappearing for 20 minutes. The entire process took over two hours.Despite successfully passing the federal background check, signing all paperwork, and verifying the serial numbers, the employee ultimately refused to release my firearms. His only justification was that I verbally confirmed I bought a shotgun and a pistol--the exact items on my receipt. When I escalated the issue to the store manager, Karla, she blindly sided with the employee's irrational decision instead of correcting the situation. This behavior is completely unacceptable, counterproductive, and disrespectful to law-abiding citizens and veterans. I request an immediate investigation into this store's management, the termination of the employees involved, and a resolution regarding my paid merchandise.

What is this mythical place that sucked up my husband for about an hour and a half? Only the most…read moreSouthwest outdoors geared store I've ever been to in the area (although the small salt water taffy section reminded me of the Midwest). We go to Las Cruces from El Paso pretty regularly, but I guess we don't hit the highway this way as much because we didn't notice Sportsman's Warehouse until I sent my husband on a wild goose-chase for LC chocolates. To sum up everything I'm about to tell you, if you're into any type of outdoor activities in the Southwest, make this your first stop. In the LC/EP area, big outdoor chains have been popping up like jack rabbits in the desert. SW is a chain, but I think they're more known for being in California and around there so it's nice to see them in little ol' Las Cruces, NM. What I liked the most was the fact there seemed to be a heavier focus on what equipment might be needed in this desert area. They have fishing equipment, hunting gear, guns, ammo, camping equipment, clothes, boots, grills, smokers, and more. They carry a lot of well known brands too so you might be surprised by what you find (like the Under Armour army boots that the Under Armour on Fort Bliss doesn't sell). SW is a good sized store and they really pack it all in there while keeping it organized. Everything was priced clearly and nothing was racked wrong which is no easy feat considering every isle we went down had a handful of people. The camping gear was actually one of the best selections I've seen in the area and it was all together. The staff that we interacted were all quick and helpful when needed. I did find it weird that they only had one register open (and it was the one at the customer service area) for the store so there was a line and it didn't move as quickly as a normal register would because there were also people in the line for other reasons. On the plus side... if I remember correctly, they do offer a military discount though.

Purchased a Crosman Air Rifle. Yes it clearly stated that it was not a returnable item 'for the…read moresafety of our customers'. Well, I am a customer... or was. Followed all directions but when attempting to fire the gun, 5 out of 6 pellets would jam. I don't consider this a safe weapon right from the factory. This should not be sold and the manufacture should be notified. Sportsman's Warehouse carries inferior and therefore dangerous weapons, and they don't care. No, they wouldn't refund or even take it back to be destroyed ...because now I have to deal with Crosman directly. If I am treated this way from the retailer, then I no longer will be a customer of that retailer, Sportsman's Warehouse.

**FYI: This is the location next to Smash Burger, adjacent to Under Armour in the outside area…read more This is NOT the little inside the PX spot.** Military and tactical gear/clothing. Some "military issued" items are sold here, but it's mostly tactical aftermarket type items that won't be found in your normal MCAS (Military Clothing and Sales). While Not officially Army sponsored, you WILL find these (like this one) on military instillations and you WILL find that they carry many AR 670-1 approved items. Boots (aftermarket style) being one of the most popular items sold at these locations. Your Nike SFB, Rocky S2V, Reebok Dauntlus, Oakleys etc etc. Pretty decent store to come stock up on legit tactical gear to be used for anything from hunting to paintball, to military deployments or just looking Kim a complete asshole walking around the mall (you've seen the type) lol. Anyways, THIS guy has a Bataan Death March coming up, so I'm here for special boots and socks so I can break them in prior to this monster of a task. And if you don't know what the Bataan Death March is... Look it up and educate yourself on what our forefathers have endured.... And I what I'll endure in order to honor them in any way possible. Three months ago we bought a fifth wheel from Camping world . Our first camper we bought there the…read moresales person did not impress us. When we asked about something he promised that came with camper he denied saying it. This time we got Bryan. Needless to say my salesman guard was up. Bryan was amazing. When we realized we did not get the "Lets go Camping" package (hoses and other accessories) I called Bryan, and bam we received them a few days later. Then we realized the hoses and attachments to the central vac were not there, I called Bryan and asked about them. Bryan said parts dept was out of them and he would send them as soon as they got some in. Then Bryan continued calling to let us know he was still waiting and had not forgotten us. Finally when they came in we received our hoses, with Bryan checking in to make sure we had indeed received them. I have never had such a wonderful honest salesman. Here it is three months later and Bryan called to check in to see how everything is going. I would give Bryan 10 stars if I could. If you go to Camping world in Anthony Tx ask for Bryan, you will not regret it.

Save yourself the headaches and avoid buying an RV here--especially if you plan on using their…read moreservice department. Our experience with Camping World has been extremely disappointing from the very beginning. When we purchased our RV, we were made several promises about how it would be prepared before pickup. We were specifically told it would be washed, cleaned, and "disinfected." When we arrived, it was dirty, dusty, smelled bad, and clearly had not been properly cleaned. We were also promised a new mattress, which had not been replaced. Only after we addressed it did they finally change it. The TV was also not working and, again, was replaced only after we pointed it out. Basically, many of the things we were promised at the time of purchase had not been done when we arrived to pick it up. Unfortunately, the walkthrough felt extremely rushed. As we were going through the RV, we were discovering problems ourselves. The attitude we received felt more like, "You already bought it; it is what it is." We made it clear that we were not driving the RV off the lot until the issues we had identified were addressed because this was not what we had been promised. Our first trip was to Cloudcroft, New Mexico, where temperatures were cold. That is when we discovered that the furnace did not work. We brought the RV back to Camping World and explained the problem along with several other issues. The RV then remained in their service department for a while (more than a month) . We were told from the beginning that repairs could take some time, and we were completely understanding. We even told them we were in no rush because we had no trips planned and wanted them to take their time and fix everything correctly. Despite having the RV for a while , we received virtually no communication or updates. No one regularly called us to let us know what was happening. When we finally picked it up, several of the things we had discussed still did not appear to have been fixed. To give credit where it is due, they did replace the house batteries. We recently took the RV back to Cloudcroft for another trip. Thankfully, the weather was not as cold this time because, once again, the furnace did not work. After leaving the RV with their service department for months specifically expecting these issues to be addressed, finding ourselves with the exact same furnace problem was beyond frustrating. At this point, we will not be taking our RV back to Camping World. We would rather pay another company to properly diagnose and repair it. The service manager was personally very nice to us, and I have nothing negative to say about him as an individual. Unfortunately, being nice does not make up for poor communication, unfulfilled promises, and repairs that apparently were not completed correctly. We heard a lot of reassuring words, but when it came time to actually pick up the RV, the results did not match what we had been told. Buying our first RV should have been an exciting experience. Instead, it has been filled with unnecessary frustration, repeated problems, lack of communication, and disappointment. If you are considering purchasing an RV here or using their service department, save yourself the headaches and think twice. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Camping World. If I could give zero stars, I would.
