Stayed here for a Mid-September weekend. Too cold to swim but plenty pleasant just the same. Had a full hook-up site with plenty of room. Not much interaction with staff but they always waved and check-in was easy. We walked the campground each night looking at all the seasonal sites, campground was ~70% seasonal. All the people were very friendly. If I had one complaint, the people drive too fast. Each day a caravan of trucks flew out of there like they were on a mission and did the same when they came back later in the day.

I really enjoyed this campground. Stayed for one night last weekend (late September). The campground is really well maintained and the tent camp sites are very level and make for comfortable tent camping. I believe you have to request it (and pay more), but the sites with the fire pits are definitely worth it. Enjoyed having a fire during a cool fall evening and making s'mores! I like that Adventure Bound is fire conscientious and have the metal fire pits versus fire pits in the ground to prevent wild fires. I wasn't able to find anything on the website before going, but each of the camp sites also have a coal grill that you can use. I didn't use the other amenities, but based on the general cleanliness of the campground I assume the showers/bathrooms are well maintained & clean. Another great perk about this campground is the vicinity to the beach. Easy 10 minute walk on a well used path. Also - dog friendly which is wonderful for someone who takes their dog everywhere with them! Kayak conditions were great on Sunday morning and since it wasn't peak season, the campground was very kind and gave us a very late checkout (3PM). Will definitely be returning to this campground again next summer/fall.

Oskar with his best buddy (other than me) hanging out across the driveway daily routine

Nice campground! I've been a seasonal camper here for a few years. Unfortunately on October 3rd 2019 my cat Oskar disappeared after lunchtime (afternoon) from my campsite or the picnic table across the driveway. The manager and workers were only 3 campsites away but claim they know nothing of his disappearance. Oskar is a "munchkin breed" in which he has short legs so he is unable to climb or jump more than 20 inches. When he runs it's more of a scamper. He is very dependant on me. He DID NOT wander off. Any information on what happened to Oskar is important to me as I am absolutely devastated that he was removed from my life. The management would not help me as to who was in the campground and who was leaving. Everybody gives their email address and telephone number and auto license plate regestration figures upon checking in to Hortons campground. How difficult would it be to send emails out, they are not invasive. If this was the managers animal(s) or a child they would do everything possible with the check-in information of the campers and guests to have their animal or child returned safely. Do I need a court order? Did somebody think that Oskar was a stray cat with two collars on and hanging out at my campsite or around the picnic table across the driveway? If so, please give him back to me!!!!

my perfect setup at my campsite in october. this place is great

I stayed at this campground in early October and I can't wait until it gets warm again to start going back. I am a surfer and travel all over the place to find waves. A good swell hit Cape Cod in early October and i chased the waves up from Long Island. Love to camp so I found this place on Yelp. It was pretty cheap and Cape Cod is such an awesome area. They have a general store with the essential things you might need on a camp site. There were a lot of RV's there and not as many tents pitched, but then again it was early October so maybe less people want to camp then. It's a 3 minute drive from Coast Guard Beach or a 1 mile walk through the woods on a path. I suggest spending the few extra dollars and getting a campsite with a fire pit. For me it was the perfect set up. The next time I want to camp in Cape Cod I'll definitely be returning to this site

We have been camping at this facility for over 30 years and it remains to be a beautiful, and peaceful place to stay in Cape Cod.

Our site was immaculate and set up against the pines with just enough privacy. We took advantage of the walk to Head of the Meadow Beach enjoy the unspoiled beauty of the outer Cape. The true measure of a camp experience is the shared facilities. These bathrooms and showers were immaculate. They say they clean them multiple times a day and it shows. Some noted that the many rules are restrictive...we find them the opposite and they create a quiet and respectful community. Can't wait to return next year.

Warning: the showers are locked at 9PM so if you want to wash the sand and salt out of your hair before going to sleep, forget about it. There was an outdoor shower but that was disconnected. The campground ran out of propane one night so there was no hot water even when you paid. They have detailed rules on how to charge your cell phone, for example- and the only place you can do that closes at 10 PM.I should say that the guy came at 10:00 to lock up and threw us all out. It was a quiet reading room with lights where you could sit and read. An insomniac would go nuts here. And watch where you put your lantern- they don't like those either. I felt afraid that I might get in trouble for just breathing. The sites are OK and spacious enough, but nothing extraordinary. I didn't find the bathrooms to be especially clean. The garbage cans were full/overflowing several times when I went in there. No hot water in the sinks. No place to wash your dishes-everyone has to pour the soap on the ground at their own campsite. I have camped 100's of times all over the country and don't think I have ever seen some of the rules they have here.

Uber will come pick you up there too if you don't want drive in and pay for parking. You can walk to the other side of route 6 (use the crosswalk at the corner for safety) and catch a pedi-cab into town, they work on tips only. Our site was small-ish, but since you cannot have a fire, there is no need for more room. We could accommodate our huge tent and our small car and a supplied picnic table. It said it was sold out the whole time we were there but it was mostly overnight-ers that stayed next to us on one side and another week-long campsite on the other. Several sites near us did not have tenants, likely due to the rain. It RAINED (several hours long down pours!) for the first two nights but there was no flooding on the camp at all. Later in the week, a drain truck came to unclog the drains, I suppose in an effort to keep the camp dry during the next rainfall. I thought the shower thing where you pay would be weird but I realized, my shower routine is less than 9 minutes ( the max allowed time at one shot). The showers were clean and when I noticed that it was dirty, I didn't even have to report it and it was sparkling again the next day. The toilets are normal running water toilets but are latrine style, outdoors, covered but it was kind of fun being basically outside using the bathroom. Sink for handwashing is in the gender assigned shower room behind the row of toilets. The folks working in the office were all really nice and friendly. I'm a bit of a curmudgeon but my husband is really nice so they were chatty with him and sort of left me alone; They can really read the room. Would stay again 100%

It's also the cleanest and most well-run private campground on the Cape, in my opinion. I had made a reservation earlier that day in person on the phone, mentioned I would be getting in late. I got a friendly call from them later to make sure I could get to camp ok if it was after hours, and to make sure I did so quietly. I was impressed at the concern not just of my experience but that of the other guests. I write this on the front porch, just outside their very nice common area, sipping a good cup of coffee ($1.75, vs $3 at the far inferior North of Highlands campground) and about to get back on the bike. One more note, I mentioned I had forgotten to pack a cup, didn't see anything just right in their otherwise well-appointed camp store, and wouldn't you know Brian pulls up at my site later in his golf cart with the loan of a coffee mug! In the thru-hiking/biking community they call that "trail magic".
