The owners of this property understand, eat, breath and sleep customer service!! I had second thoughts about posting this review for fear others would come here and make it harder for me to get a room for a week. We had a late arrival on Weds night and they accommodated us very nicely, we got in, sadly the room was very hot as the AC unit was on the fritz. We let the owner know about the issue and in literally 30 minutes they installed a brand new air conditioner in the room, instantly we are nice and cool. We had a first floor room, walking out on to the private beach, glorious view, picnic tables. fire pit, clean rooms, amazing cleaning staff. About 2 minute drive from P-Town and the wife and I will be back again again and again!!! read more

Location, Location, Location (!) Right on the beach and close to both Provincetown and The National Seashore Beaches. This motel far exceeded any of my expectations and I'm happy to recommend it! I was traveling with a friend and we both enjoyed our stay very much. The room was large, squeaky clean, and nicely decorated with super comfy beds, and an updated kitchenette and dining area.The bathroom also looked recently updated and had a nice, large, step-in shower to wash the salt and sand off after a day of beachcombing! And, there are sliders opening to a good sized balcony (2nd floor) to enjoy the sea breezes and gorgeous views of the ocean! They also have a private, well maintained, beach area complete with beach chairs, a few picnic tables and a fire pit, too! I love the Cape and have visited many times over the years and I can honestly say the Sandbars Inn is now on my list of favorite places to stay on the Cape and I hope to be able to return there soon! Found my new spot in Truro! My GF and I were forced to find a new place to stay when we visit Truro after adopting a dog last year. Although there are many dog-friendly hotels and inns on this part of the cape, none of the places we previously stayed accepted pets. Enter Sandbars. I read their online reviews, and saw photos of the rooms. They do allow pets and seemed legit. I called Pattee the owner, and made a reservation about 2 weeks in advance. It was the off season, and they were closing soon but I was able to reserve the room I wanted for the weekend we were planning. Upon arrival we were greeted by Pattee and her dog Bentley. Both were very friendly, and Pattee gave us a list of places to see and things to do. We got the key to our room (King Suite, second floor balcony) - it was absolutely perfect! The room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and the view of the water was of course, spectacular. Our dog made himself at home, and loved hanging on the balcony watching the waves come in. It was a fantastic weekend, everything I wanted and more. Thanks Pattee - We will definitely return, and hopefully for longer than just one night! read more

My family and I had a wonderful stay here. Sandbars is small enough to feel like it's your own piece of North Truro. While the rooms were a bit too small for our four family groups, they were well equipped with very comfortable beds and very reliable wi-fi. Right on the bay beach, there are lots of Adirondack and lounge chairs, a fire pit, and grills of all of which we made ample use. Starting with Joe, the entire staff couldn't be better. No request or question was unreasonable or too big, and each person was friendly and professional. read more

We had terrific day. We arrived early and they got the room ready as quickly as possible and allowed us to check in a few hours before the actual check in time. The room was very clean and well equipped with your usual kitchen necessities. The staff was always very pleasant. Beach access directly outside your room, and they've taken very good care of the property. There are ample chairs and lounges for every guest. There is also a fire pit as well as a barbecue. Free parking and only a few minutes from Provincetown are other perks of the place. One of the main reasons we chose this place to stay is that it is dog friendly. Lots of people came with dogs, and it was a very friendly atmosphere. read more

Sandbars Hotel was a true Cape Cod experience. My room was clean, well appointed, and had fresh flowers when I arrived. The view from my second floor balcony spanned from PTown to Wellfleet. The beach is typical Cape Cod, so bring your beach shoes (seashells, seaweed floating, rough sand), this is typical throughout the Cape. They have outdoor grills, a huge fire pit, and Adirondack chairs to sit in the sand. The staff (owners) were very friendly and helpful. I was very polite and they both returned the favor. I wish I hadn't rented a car for this trip. Wasted money. Take the fast ferry from Boston to PTown and GoogleMap your way to the hotel by public bus ($2 each way from PTown) along route 6A, or grab a taxi. Be sure to check in during business hours though as the office closes at 6. I'm sure they'd accommodate you if you're late though. To make a long story longer, this hotel is much better than most of the other ones I've seen: it's closest to the beach and water, plus it has direct views of the harbor/ocean. I'll be back. The price is worth it. We had the superior king room for 5 nights. Get a 2nd floor room...keeps looky lou's away. read more

We had a lovely night here in 2017 and made a reservation in early 2018 to go back. After driving 21/2 with our dog we arrived only to find out that our reservation was cancelled. The women at check in tried to help us but the manger was completely unsympathetic and deflected blame for what was her miscommunication. She didn't offer to make it right. read more

This is our 5th time staying at this property. Unfortunately we are going to have to find a new place to stay. We found it before the pandemic and loved the location, the staff, and service. And the facilities were nice with grills, fire pit, outdoor shower etc. The big change is this is no longer a Hotel. It's now run as a vacation home with no on-site management, automated booking through a company called Vacasa that took 9 days to answer an email, 15 calls to get a liver person on the phone and no help at all. All they know is what is on the website about the hotel. We are here for a week and now there's no maid service or change of sheets. No tissues in the room. No vacuum to pick up all the sand you inevitably track in and when asked about that we were told there's a broom in the room! I'd like to know if the new owner has ever tried to sweep a rug???? The fire pit is brand new and doesn't work, no one to call. Sliding doors operate poorly if at all. Room is not being kept up. They disconnected the hot water from the outdoor showers. They used to police the beach for seaweed and set up the chairs daily, and now there's zero care given to any of that, you're on your own. This is not the same property that I was a loyal customer of, and the choice to eliminate personal customer service for increased profits is the reason, Choosing Vacasa to run this property was a big mistake. read more

What a beautiful place. We were greeted by the friendliest innkeeper ever and was so impressed by his kindness and attention to detail. He had everything ready for us and had already turned on the lights in the room. When we walked through the front door of our room we were struck by the beauty out the sliding glass door leading our to the beach. It was perfect. We walked right out to a gorgeous private beach which included sand chairs, a fire pit, and an unobstructed view of Provincetown landmarks. Our only regret was that we were staying only one night. The room is tastefully done and very welcoming. Everything is well-maintained. It was nice to have a small kitchen, again, so sad that we were only there a night. We just spent two wonderful weeks at Sandbars. It is truly a treat to visit. It is just so nice to look at the sunsets on Cape Cod Bay. At night the lights of Provincetown create a beautiful sight. Pattee does a wonderful job of keeping everything running smoothly. She always checks to make sure that everything is good & that you do not need anything. Rooms are well designed & it is a treat to be able to sit down in the morning with that first cup of coffee & looking out on the beautiful bay. I cannot wait to go back! What a great small hotel with only 16 rooms that is right on the beach. We had a lower room so all we had to do was open the door and we were in the sand! The owners were the nicest, most accomodating people I have ever met and just for that we will be back! We were only 3 miles from PTown so it was a short drive from the bustle of the city. The room was spacious with a full kitchen. The bed was so comfortable!!!! And the view from our room was breathtaking!!! Even the girl that cleaned the room daily was so friendly and always happy to see you. If you want a quiet vacation that is on the beach with owners that are on-site that really care to make your stay enjoyable then Sandbars is your next destination!!!! read more

Found a room here last minute, and it was a great find! Modern room, spotlessly clean, right on the beach. The kitchenette was great for breakfast, and the dogs had a blast meeting a few new 4 legged friends. The best part was the bed, sumptuous and so unbelievably comfortable, we all wanted to sleep in just to stay in the beds. Walking the beach at sunrise with a coffee, was a great start to the day, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. After coming to the Cape for over 30 years, we have a new favorite spot, and we will be back. read more

Before arriving I checked the website to see if there were any Covid restrictions I should know about, I didn't see any, (Sometimes if you go through third party booking, they don't have the hotel's latest information.) So, I always call the hotel myself to double check, and was told, since I was coming from Ct., there was nothing else I needed to know. Upon arriving (we had brought food to cook for my daughter's birthday dinner) we discovered not a single dish, pot, plate, fork, cup in our efficiency. We chose the efficiency so we could eat in, not dine out. When I emailed the office I was told that all cooking vessels were removed because of Covid. This misunderstanding did not bother me as much as the manger's response, which was to alert me to a near by church that might be having a rummage sale the following day where I might be able to buy a pot or a bowl. So, the food I bought had to be thrown out. I am beyond appreciative to inn owners who have made this difficult time work for travelers like myself and my family. But, really, this "I could care less" attitude about your plans and your food and expense was disappointing. I could have booked a motel room for half the price. I asked for a partial refund for our inconvenience, and never received a response. They had our money, they, I suppose were done with us. I am done with Sandbars. read more

We had wonderful, clean, nicely furnished room, with kitchenette,and two full size comfy comfy beds, ocean outback, Pattee offered my son smores at the fire pit and he played with her grandchildren while we watched fireworks.Sandbars is a beautiful spot with lovely people. Great place to stay and its just a very short drive from Provincetown and the strip on Commercial Street. Looking out the back its the beautiful beach and cape. Look out your window in the front and you get a clear view of the sand dunes. If you have the time and energy you have to climb them. It's an unbelievable experience and we were there right before the tourist season started and couldn't see anyone else around. The kitchen is great has almost everything you could need. No measuring cups but that just makes cooking more interesting. They provide you with sponges, paper towels, soap, and plenty of kitchen utensils. The beds were very comfortable and they had hard and soft pillows that you can choose from. They have extra blankets in the dresser and I'm sure if you asked you could get more. Ran into the owner once and he seemed very nice, asked us how our trip was going and made sure we weren't in need of anything. Definitely a great place to stay and I highly recommend it! read more

I waited until the last minute to make a reservation for Halloween; it was offseason and I didn't anticipate any problems. It turned out I was SOL on getting a booking at any of the places I'd be willing to stay in Ptown. The Sandbars was so great. I absolutely love the Sandbars!!!! I took the ferry from Boston to Ptown and a shuttle bus dropped us right off. The proximity to the ocean is unreal...it's in the backyard!! The lounge chairs and fire out were a lovely bonus. The rooms were adorable and super clean. The beds were out of this world comfortable and I loved that we even had our own little patio. Sandbars Inn is our happy place! It feels more like coming home. Pattee is wonderful and always so welcoming. We love the direct beach access and proximity to Provincetown and bigger Seashore beaches. The rooms are super clean and have a kitchenette, lots of unpacking space, and an outdoor sitting area. There is a peaceful air and friendly vibe that keeps us coming back year after year! Even our dog loves it!! There are so many hidden gems in this area but that's all I'll tell you!
