Loved the Outer Reach! Stayed this weekend with our two children and our Boston Terrier. The rooms are dated but very clean. The views from the dunes are just beautiful. The waking trails and dog park were a hit with our pup. We are so glad we had a balcony, we enjoyed our breakfast there both mornings. The staff was friendly and helpful and the continental breakfast was more than adequate with fruit, bagels and pastry. The hotel is located a quick drive from P-town and is conveniently located on Route 6. The only drawback was that the dogs in adjoining rooms were a bit noisy in the evening and the walls are thin, we expected some canine squawking in a dog friendly hotel so that didn't put us off much. read more

Stayed here this weekend with a group of 12 friends. The hotel is located high on a hill so it offers spectacular water views from most rooms. There are 8 buildings with 10 rooms each. Rooms on the end have a side deck and are a little bigger but for the best view the middle rooms with a deck are best. I stayed in a non-pet friendly room in the 30's building. It was clean with a comfortable bed water view and basically everything we needed. Obviously it is peak season on the Cape so the prices are peak but reasonable. If you have a pet they have special pet friendly buildings, one of our group stayed in one of those buildings and said there was zero pet smell. The hotel has a large outdoor saltwater pool which was amazing at the end of a beach day. Included in the rate was a continental breakfast which was well stocked. Juices, coffee, pastries, bagels and fruit. The best part of the resort however, was the staff. On our second night we were having a great time playing cards by the pool when it started to rain. Elsar let us move to the inside banquet area and set up a couple of tables to continue our game.i wish I could remember everyone's name but they were all wonderful. Excellent motel overlooking keep Cape Cod Bay. If you are looking for a new modern, high tech motel, skip this place. It is quiet, rustic, and beautiful! Great service, especially from housekeeper named Fayoni. Very pet friendly, with its own dog run, swimming pool, and even tennis courts. Best part? Five minutes from downtown Provincetown. Stayed here before, and it was adequate. We only needed a place to sleep and shower and this was just the right place for it. Staff was helpful and kind, but we were mislead about when the restaurant would open for takeout breakfast. We were told it was open but when we got there it wasn't. It was the first weekend that the Cape opened up for the season, and we thought that things would have been up and running as stated. We found breakfast in town, so all was good. Other than the above, the place was clean and perfect for our weekend getaway. Adrian's wasn't bad either. It was on the pricey side, but it was good. We got to taste the new menu of the season, so that was cool! read more

Great hotel near Provincetown! Pet friendly hotel with beachy hotel rooms (ours also had a deck and a view of the ocean and Provincetown!). Very reasonable price for what you get. Service was great, and the continental breakfast was good too! Would definitely come back here! HOWEVER, Wifi doesn't work and there's no phone in the room. 4 starts only cuz wifi doesn't work and there's no phone in the room so if you have a question, you have to go to the main office. Location location location. This place is situated high on the dunes overlooking the cape cod bay with Ptown in the distance. About 10 minute drive into Ptown proper or to some of the best beaches on the cape, it's definitely a good spot if you don't mind driving to go anywhere. That being said, this place needs major renovations. We got the best room offered at 179 per night, which for the cape in June isn't terrible, and the added fact we were able to book just two nights when most places require a week, seemed like an okay option. The pros: New wall to wall carpeting in at least our room. Bed was reasonably comfortable. The view Fridge/microwave Pet friendly for those who need it (not us) Staff was nice (a welcome relief from the unfortunate frequent sullen Eastern Europeans that seem to be the staple summer help now on the cape) The cons: *Severely out of date appointments in the rooms. (Comment card calls the place something like "a salty old lady" and asks for "constructive" feedback only. First time I ever heard that on a comment card!) furniture styled from the early 80s, nothing really "cape" about it, just cheap. *The deck was not overly private, as the painted latticework does nothing to hide the view from your neighbor. *Door to said deck did not lock, chain only. *No safe in the room ^ *Bugs for days, both in and out of the room. Made worse by: - the light at the front door of the room to the outside which can't be turned off so you basically RUN into the room and spend the next 15 minutes killing mosquitos, moths, flies etc. -the 1.5 inch crack under the door to the deck which probably was the source of the spiders that were chilling in our bed and towels (no joke) and the earwigs in the bathroom. *Complimentary breakfast was meager though probably adequate for kids. So all in all, if you don't mind paying 3 star prices for what barely hits 2, Fido is a factor, and you don't mind driving to anything else, maybe ok? Not for us though, back to Gabriels. read more

My wife and I stopped over by chance with our French Bull Dog Minnie while touring. What fun! Clean rooms with fridges, microwaves, fantastic views and a wonderful staff! From Ken and Roxanne at the front desk to our wonderful housekeeper, Fayoni we had such are having such a wonderful time we immediately extended our stay. (A great place to recuperate from weeks on the road and a bit of a cold!) The rooms are a bit retro, but clean and perfect for the setting! They offer a nice continental breakfast too. You may have to juggle, dance and wave your hands a bit to get your email depending upon weather and the reception in your room but it works eventually. The dog park, pool and tennis court overlook the ocean and P-Town from the bluff so everyone can enjoy the view - but get a room with an ocean view porch. You'll be glad you did! Not a bad place, at all - if you have dogs with you, and you want a room with a view of all of Provincetown, the bay, and the dunes. Definitely a bit out of town, but reasonably priced, clean rooms, and nice views. The staff is friendly, the ice is frozen and the decks off each room are spacious enough to enjoy some outside time. They have a cute fenced in doggie park, a restaurant, and they do a cute continental breakfast each morning until 10:30am. Although it's about a mile or so further, out of town, than the 'Blue Sea Motor Inn, it's worth going further out for a nicer / cleaner place. I'd go back. What's also nice is this is a 'sister resort' to the Provinctown Inn, which means you can park in their lot, and use the 'out door' built in pool in the PTown Inn, and enjoy the views of the town, from the pool. There's a lady at the front desk who's particularly friendly, and really helped make my brief stay here much more enjoyable... read more

Pleasantly surprised by many things including the unbelievable views, comfort of the beds, dog friendliness, and the availability to all that Truro, Provincetown, and the outer cape have to offer as it's conveniently located. Rooms are a little out of date but if you're not too picky, it's a great bargain. I'd just make sure you get an ocean view room with a balcony. Front desk was nice as well... Nothing major for breakfast but a nice basic set up continental breakfast. We plan on going back soon. read more

1. All of the staff are so friendly and nice! One woman even helped me rinse off my dog with their hose, very nice of her. 2. We stayed in two different rooms, they didn't have the same room available for two nights, and the first room was clean, basic, and maybe a bit outdated, but quiet, peaceful, and had a beautiful view. The toiletries they give you are nice- the lotion and bath soap smell really good. 3. The second room was . . . eek. There were large flies in the room, as well as some other insects. The room had a musty, moldy smell, the fridge stank and the carpet was wet, no hot water. Plus the room had a window without a curtain and the light from the parking lot shone directly into the room. We were glad we stayed in a different room the night before, so we left with an overall positive impression of this place. 4. The breakfast is simple, plenty of hot coffee, juice, bagels, cereal, and fruit. 5. The little walking trails around the hotel lead to different beaches and are very rustic and undeveloped. Almost anywhere on this property offers the chance to see an amazing sunset. 6. For dog owners- there are "pet relief areas" throughout the property, which is nice, unless you have a room directly next to one- then you can expect to hear barking dogs constantly and encounter off leash dogs. A lot of people also seem to use the "pet relief areas" as smoking areas. 7. The pool is HUGE and has a view of the ocean. read more

I'm back. As others have noted. The place is not the newest place on the block. But its fine. I didn't have any issues with my room and the location/view is amongst the best. As noted, the WIFI is a joke. It doesn't really work anywhere away from the office. There is no phone in your room, this isn't a Marriott, it's a motel for the most part. Nicest new thing since I was last here. They added a pool!. And its a pretty good one too. The only drawback is the pool area is wood. People were getting splinters.It should really be a PVC type material such as AZEK/Trex. Maybe as they replace pieces, they'll use PVC. The breakfast is a continental, meaning bagels, yogurt, boxed cereal, some fruit. Pretty much anything that can go back in the refrigerator. My only comment is I wish they would add something else such as boiled eggs. read more

Can you say mold? We were happy to be able to bring our pet, for sure. The staff is sweet and competent and the pool and parking at the Provincetown Inn was a nice option, but we only did that one day. But it's an older establishment. On the surface it looks well maintained but the carpeting is old, blankets could be updated and cleaned better. Worst thing that happened was when we turned on the heater, an ungodly smell came out of it - like really bad and we had to open the door for a half hour to get rid of it (the very opposite of the effect we were looking for). For what we paid, they need to update. We have been home for a week and our things still smell like the room, that's bad. read more

A group of us girls stayed here from August 24th-27th for a bachelorette party. The women I checked in with was so sweet. Very kind and helpful she recommended a few places to eat and a few clubs to go to during our stay. Our room was a perfect size to fit all five of us. We did request a rollaway bed for the 5th girl since the two double beds only sleep two people. The room was dated but very clean and simply decorated, our view was amazing. Then you step outside and around the corner is a four person swing, a picnic table and garden trellis. We were about a 15 minute drive from the P-Town center so taking an uber was very easy. They also have a decent sized pool and offer a continental breakfast daily which was a nice touch to have on site. I would stay here again in the future should the occasion arise! read more

Carpets were very old and gave my dog an allergic reaction. Her skin broke out in a red rash. Found through Expedia; thought I got a deal but got overcharged big time. The view was possibly the only good thing. The bathroom was so old the counter top couldn't hold anything and would slide right off. Wifi was "spotty" but they didn't say when they would fix it or how long it was going to take. read more

Awful rooms that look like they haven't been updated since the 1960s. When we arrived at check in time our room wasn't ready and housekeeping had to be tracked down to clean it. Air conditioners were basically non functional. The staff at the entire resort are short, rude, non responsive and just plain unfriendly. The Cape is extremely non dog friendly in the summer and this place pretty much has the market cornered on pet friendly places and as a result they don't put a lot of effort into maintainence of the premises. Saving graces are unbelievable views and a decent pool. Won't give this place a second look again. read more

This hotel is located close to Provincetown and a stones throw from the water and sand dunes and has a peaceful beautiful surrounding. Its definitely an old place and you can tell by state of the rooms and the office/breakfast area. I used to live on the cape and now when we come to visit we bring our dog. This last visit we were really unsatisfied and we won't come back. It was off season but the rates were still high- and really shouldn't be that high for what you're getting, especially in the off season. We stayed for only 1 night and had no hot water. There isn't a phone in the room so you have to use your cell phone, which may have little to no service depending on where your room is located, to call the front desk- which keeps very minimal hours so you cant ask for help. I spoke with the owner about having no hot water and her response was that the water in her room wasn't very warm this morning either. She never offered to switch our room so we could shower and didn't offer to reduce/comp the price of our room. She told us she would send maintenance to check on our water heater. We waited over an hour and no one showed up and the water temp never improved so we left. I'm not the type of person to cause a scene, but I regret now that I didn't demand to be reimbursed for the room because we had to spend our last day without a shower and that really sucked. We could have camped and spent 4x less and had a shower. Also, they advertise WIFI but you won't get it. This place is too far out, which is nice if you want to disconnect, but it doesn't get WIFI. Don't bother asking the owner about it either- she's just not helpful. Find another place to stay that's dog friendly. read more

First off let me tell you this "resort" is pet friendly. This means dogs & cats and whatever else have slept on the bed you will sleep on.This clap trap has the cheapest everything possible,paper thin polyester sheets, washcloth sized polyester/cotton towels, plastic cups, crappy beds. No extra amentities and a bad restaurant to boot(Adrienes). I'm amazed how these places stay in business, now with rating services like "Yelp" these horrible motels can be exposed. read more

Outer Reach Resort is not the newest on the block, but that's not important. Everything about this place is inviting and comfortable. There is a beautiful view of Cape Cod Bay from many of the rooms. The resort staff are the nicest people you could hope to meet anywhere. It's close to the Cape Cod National Seashore and Provincetown, Wellfleet is just down the road. We enjoy bicycling, the possibilities in the vicinity are many. Continental Breakfast: better than the usual for the USA. Will we return? Yes, asap! read more

This is a mixed review. I usually stay at Marriott for business and this place is clearly not a Marriott and for the price, i would not have expected it to be. Paid 5 star prices for a 1 star hotel. All the discounts they promised (multi-night stay/Triple A) were denied at check-in due to a made up "Holiday" (the next town over was having a parade during my stay). You MUST stay here if you love freeezing cold or boiling hot showers (no in-between) & want to practice your contortionist moves for your circus auditions (water in the shower only reaches mid-chest). I paid a premium for "water views" which consisted mostly of views of their other buildings with a few glimpses of the Atlantic here & there. They make you pay a premium if your dog fouls in the room, but clearly don't use that money to clean the carpets .... well stained from previous "Naughty Doggies". Extra cheap amenities (paper products & cups .... which were not replaced when used, toiletries, basic TV, no music, DVD player, etc). If you want to access the internet, you have to walk through 2 parking lots & sit in a very public area of the "office" building. I had booked a week & left early. Nowhere near worth the huge price tag on the room. I only gave 2 stars instead of 1 due to the pleasant staff, nice room size, reasonable pool and decent continental breakfast. After checking the internet and talking to a co-worker I decided to set my sites on Outer Reach Resort, no reservation or expectations. What I got was a very good value for my money and worth the rate especially with the proximity of Provincetown so close. Being September I didn't need to use the pool, altho it looked clean and nice; I was warned at the front desk about the Wi-Fi but I wasn't there to use it anyway. Nice comfortable king-size bed, cable and view (even tho they claimed this was a "par-view" room); a little dated but I assume one is there to see the sights, not the room. Located on a national sea shore/park area the views while walking are very nice. There is also a nice continental breakfast in the morning with bagels, cereal, fruit, coffee and juices. For my money this was a great value and I will stay at Outer Reach again read more

Recently stayed here with several friends. Thankfully we called ahead several times to confirm reservations- because all of us had issues. It took three hours for our friend to sort out issue with their room - system had them for two nights in park view room in spite of paying ahead and having confirmation for three nights with ocean view. This is a pretty casual beach motel, so while very affordable, there are not a lot of amenities and a few pit falls to be wary of: 1) "pet friendly": I travel with a service dog, so we needed a pet friendly room. We made a reservation and paid ahead, and check in (with our dog) didn't flag any additional fees needed. However, when we checked out we were hit with a $50 pet fee that was not stated upfront at all. Woman at desk apologized, but said she couldn't do anything about it. I am used to the fees- but I don't like the dishonesty or surprise factor here. Tell me up front- don't hit me with a hidden fee after the fact. 2) Snakes. Large black ones. Terrifying. Did not let my dog go near any of the parks or relief areas after dark out of fear of her safety. I was also petrified after seeing them. Hotel was not helpful when I told them about it- said they hadn't seen any. 3) room condition. there is a sort of rustic charm to the motel. Just set expectations. "Ocean view" is a pretty big stretch though. 4) amenities. The pool is nice, and there is an enclosed dog run. However, no vending machines or food available for purchase on premises after the breakfast buffet. Bring your own or be prepared to drive everywhere. 5) no wifi. I mean- they HAVE it, but it wasn't really functional when we were there. I had no cell reception either. On plus side, great to unplug. Wish wifi worked though. TV was 3 channels, and we like to stream movies when we go to bed. Not a huge deal, but could see as an issue if you are trying to get work done, or traveling with small children. Overall- I love this area of the cape. Our time was spectacular and a wonderful experience- you should definitely go to this area. If you just want a place to rest your head (affordably) during your trip- this will hit the mark. I probably will go somewhere else in the future- even if this is cheaper, the snakes and hassle with check in/ check out really turned me off. read more

This place only got a 3 from me for 3 reasons...1) the views are spectacular...2) it's pet friendly....3) the staff is nice. The place is OLD OLD OLD...so old on the outside, that it can pass for being abandoned. BAD MUSTY odor in the room, soft/rotted spots on the floor that made us feel like we may fall through, & the furniture looks like it belonged in a motel back in 1965. For the amount of money we paid to stay there, we expected far more than what we got. The property is very close to Provincetown (which is nice), and i know the convenience of that does come at a price, but i've stayed at other places in the area that were a little more modern. That all being said, it IS pet friendly, the small dog park on premise is nice, the staff is friendly, and the national seashore trails on the property are beautiful, & the views are unsurpassed. The place just needs some MAJOR updating, which wouldn't cost much....a little goes a long way. read more

We stayed for 4 days in the pet friendly building of the property, facing the bay with a view of Provincetown in the distance from our deck. The rooms are a good size and that is needed because dogs need to be crated when you leave and there was room for them. The rooms may be a little worn but are simple and are clean and ours had a microwave and small fridge, which both came in handy. Outside, there is a very nice, two-tiered dog run with obstacles for play. The upper area of the run is a garden with a couple of spots where owners can sit around a table and watch their dogs cavort. The dogs really enjoy moving through the garden. This is genuinely a pet friendly place. The pool and deck are nice and you can eat the provided continental breakfast on the deck near the pool. Breakfast is good. The staff are friendly and helpful and will give you advice on places to go. Very convenient to Provincetown, Wellfleet and other spots on the upper cape. We highly recommend the Outer Reach Resort. read more

This place gets a two only because the staff was pleasant and they accepts pets. However, their statement that the "Resort is an aging lady of the Sea" really means the buildings are maintained poorly. Our room smelled of pet urine, we had little or no hot water and there were places on the floor that you could feel were rotted (held together only by the nasty carpet). The refrigerator was turned off so we tried to figure out how to set it but all our food froze. There was an uncovered pit with some type of tank outside our window. The continental breakfast was less than average compared to other motels. They had a promo that pets stay free during the week but they tried to charge us for them during check in. The front desk gave us the $120 credit when we produced our booking confirmation and copy of the promo from their web site. Overpriced even in the off season. Wouldn't stay here again. read more

Ok, so it is certainly not fancy, but the Outer Reach is a delightful, unassuming, out of the way motel set high up on a hill with unrivaled panoramic views....the dunes, pilgrim lake, the national seashore and provincetown harbor....beauty every direction you look . This is not luxury accomodations but this is not New York City...Provincetown is a short five minute drive as are some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. I have stayed her many times and recommend it to friends and family who want to experience all that P-town has to offer without all of the chaos. The person who wrote the negative review is a snobby, ignorant mean-spirited person who obviously doesn't get it. If you want beautiful views, polite staff, clean large rooms and are not allergic to polyester (haha) check it out. I don't stay here for the sheets....I stay here for the view, peaceful atmosphere and proximity to one of the most fun places on the east coast...Provincetown. read more
