Two weeks ago my wife & I spent a week at the Crow's Nest in North Truro. The location is perfect as you are less than 100 feet from the waves, oh so tranquil are the waves. We had booked a one bedroom, one bath and we were upgraded to a two bedrooms/two bathrooms. The kitchen modern and flat screen TVs in the living room and both bedrooms. There was even a fireplace. The air conditioner was great and every morning we put our trash and dirty towels or linens and when we returned fresh linens and towels were replenished. Any time we had a request the manager did not ever say no and went beyond the requests to make guests happy. We will happily return next Summer. Rooms: 4/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5 read more

This is our forth time back here and has become a regular spot for end of September anniversary . This is a two story building with all of the rooms on the water front . All have sliding doors into the upper decks or the ground floor patios. The kitchens are well equipped with just about anything you might want cook including a lobster pot. The rooms are all tastefully furnished clean and comfortable. The two bedroom has room for 4 people in the second bedroom and one bed in the master. Generally the place is well maintained but is on saltwater and that dies have its issues. The beach is small and non existent at high tide but there is a nice level sand area all along the top of the breakwater if sunbathing is your gig. It's also a great place to watch the sunset over P'Town . This is a quiet place and pets (thankfully ) are not allowed. Lots of good restaurants nearby (terra Luna , blackfish ) On if my favorite dinners at the cape is to pick up lobsters ate Cape Tip seafood in Truro , a bottle of wine from Truro Vineyards , bring them back. I take the lobster pot down to bay, get about and inch of water , a little kelp and steam those lobsters for about 15 minutes and enjoy while watching the sunset . Michelle is wonderfully helpful . My husband and I spent this past Labor Day weekend and had a fantastic time. Our unit was clean and provided everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. The location is in the heart of beaches, Truro Vineyards, and minutes to Provincetown. Staff were very friendly and made sure we were comfortable . Just plain gross. The place was filthy. We spent half a day cleaning it ourselves! Dirty floors, pillowcases, windows, shower, and bathtub. No shower pressure, mold in bathtub. The fridge was sticky and smelled like fish. Broken ice trays leave the freezer full of frozen water. Dirty silverware, ancient worn out kitchenware. The washer was broken. Window knobs missing. Outlet in living room falling out of the wall. Dirty towel and hair band left from previous tenant. Dirty bandaid hanging from the side of the kitchen table!! Human hairballs everywhere. I The curtains in the master bedroom were covered with hair. Light over fireplace flickered non-stop. Front door lock was very loose and difficult to use, Very strong, pervasive odor of sewer by the office. Paint is peeling on the outside of the building. It is obvious that nothing is reinvested in the place. This is such a shame. It used to be such a wonderful place to stay. It was clean and weull kept. My family used to look forward to it every year. They still charge a pretty penny to stay there, but the only thing it has left going for it is the location. Never again! read more

It's worth noting that if you're traveling with 4+ people and expect the 2-bedroom units to sleep more than 4, you'll be in for a big disappointment. BEWARE: 2 bedroom units only sleep 3-4 people (not 6 as advertised)! And management does not care! The pros: On the beach (which you can enjoy as long as it's low-tide). Clean rooms with all the amenities (washer/dryer, full kitchen, etc.). Inexpensive. Great views - from any and all rooms! The cons: We booked a 2 bedroom which we were promised sleeps 6 people (there were only 5 in our party). There were 2 bedrooms - one with two twins, another with a "full" bed (tough for 2 people) and a sofa which had the most peculiar pull out toddler mattress which is supposed to "connect" somehow to the sofa into a "queen pullout" and there is just no way that this was happening. First of all the piece that was supposed to turn a plain old sofa into a queen bed was no larger than a crib mattress - and it wasn't soft, like a mattress. And it wasn't the same height or feel as the sofa cushions. In no way was this meant for 2 people. It wasn't even suitable for one person! When we realized this dilemma we called Michelle who manages the property. She came up immediately and tried for quite some time to make this work but she knew and we knew that it wasn't what it was advertised. When we asked for another room - to accomodate our party of 5 - she said they were sold out. When we asked for a rollaway bed, she said they didn't have any. We didn't have any options and one person didn't have a place to sleep and ended up sleeping on the sofa! Unacceptable. The following day (we were there for 2 nights) Michelle brought us a very cheap, thin, single layer, full-sized air mattress. Again still not supporting what we were sold which was a condo that should have slept 6 people. We asked her multiple times how we'd be compensated. On Saturday she said she was waiting to hear back from Management. On Sunday when someone else in our party asked she told them Management isn't open until Monday. So I'm uncertain she ever reached out to them. Upon checking out on Sunday I asked her again and she said she'd follow up with them on Monday and get back to me. It's Wednesday and I haven't heard anything. While I might be open to visiting the Crow's Nest in the future, I wouldn't do so with anymore than 3 people per 2-bedroom condo. They should change the sleeping capacity of those rooms to 3...definitley not 6! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Manager's response: I have been informed of your stay at the Resort as well as the situation you alleged. The condition in which you left the property (especially the two toilets) as well as the damage to the sleep sectional are well documented. You will not be invited back to the Resort, no compensation will be forthcoming. James T. We made housekeeping aware that both toilets were backed up on Saturday and nothing was done about it. We did nothing to the "sleeper" sofa and Michelle is well aware since she was fussing with it for quite some time when we arrived on Friday evening. She was equally as dumbfounded as we were when she pulled out that toddler mattress which you're falsely advertising "sleeps two". A little pricy but a nice place to stay. They have a variety of room types from studio to 3 bedroom. All rooms face Cape Cod Bay. The view is priceless, a great place to relax to the sound of the surf. You can walk out your door right on to a private beach. The rooms are efficiencies so you can cook. They even have a washer dryer. Maybe a little out dated but comfortable and clean. read more

The one star is for the ocean view, which is outstanding. Otherwise, this ocean-side motel is an uncomfortable, aging facility with few amenities and poor customer service. The property does not have any ADA accessible rooms, nor are the bathrooms equipped with non-skid bathtub mats, simple tub bars, or hand-held showers - which would help a great deal. When we asked about the availability of tub mats, suction cup tub bars and hand-held showers after arrival, we were told that there were none available, but that we could have extra towels to cushion the blow in case I fell in the shower/tub. Wow. The "private beach" advertised, and which management and the website say is "a few steps" from your door or "you walk right onto", was a just a boardwalk atop the seawall, with long sandboxes of trucked-in sand at the edge of the boardwalk. There was a small strip of weedy beach below, but access primarily was via a very steep, aluminum step ladder covered with seaweed. There was no lifeguard, so watch yourself and the kids if you go. The motel studio room we had did offer working AC, and a cross-breeze as one side was on the ocean itself, but the other side with windows looked out onto the access road, the parking lot, and Route 6, so all-night and all-day traffic noise was part of the package. The bed we had was full-size and was older, as well as hard as a rock, the appliances in the kitchen were older, the silverware and potholders were dirty on arrival, there were no handiwipes, spray cleaners, or sponges available, the glass tabletop was not secure on the table legs and so posed a hazard, and the indoor chairs were hard and wooden with no cushioning at all. Two plastic, outdoor Adirondack chairs without cushions and a small outdoor table come with each room, but the cleaning staff gave one of ours to another motel guest without even asking us, leaving us with one chair until I objected. There was little privacy in our studio room as the windows and glass doorway had thin, dirty curtains and looked right out onto public access ways, there was no carpeting, and there was barely enough drawer space and shelf space for two. There was no closet. The TV worked with a basic cable package, and there was a gas fireplace, but it looked old and dirty. The bathroom was inaccessible and tiny, and the under-sink area in the kitchen reeked of mold. If you have allergies and asthma, beware. This place is pricey - the 4 and 5-star motels in the area have comparable rates - and management makes you pay 50% upfront via personal check when you book. The final 50% of the motel fee is due on check-in, so think hard before you book. Plus, if you have questions or want a copy of the rental contract, answers and materials are tough to obtain - my request was refused. My first time here last week was definitely the last time I will stay at this facility, which was hardly the resort advertised. Not recommended. read more

This is my 8th visit to the Crows Nest. I have stayed in March,July,Aug, Oct and Nov. Every time I have been here it has been a pleasure. Place is always clean, never an issue with parking, but be aware summers it is jammed but always a spot. Water is literally 15 paces from your door. Sunsets are amazing. Location is so convenient and without the crowds of P-Town. Walk across the street and catch the bus for $2 bucks and in 8 minutes you are in downtown. Runs every 30 minutes April-Oct. The units all have a/c and a cozy gas insert for those chilly Fall nights. Full efficiency unit with everything, including a washer/dryer combo. Stay here for a few days or a month, you won't get tired of it I sure, anytime of year! read more

I just spent five days in chilly April at the Crow's Nest "resort" and it was beyond anything I expected. We had a two bedroom, two bath (one with jacuzzi!) suite with a gas fireplace in the living/kitchen area - each room has its own heating register. The manager, Patricia, was very helpful, responding and anticipating our requests. From the registration to the leaving, this experience was everything I needed to celebrate one of those big decade birthdays. It was clean and quiet with a beautiful harbor view. The bathtub could have been cleaner but otherwise we were very happy.

We went to the Crow's Nest for a weekend last spring 2018. When we were there we decided to book a week for Sept 2019, and gave a deposit. We asked and was told the deposit was refundable. In Jan. 2019, we needed to cancel, wrote to Crows Nest giving them the reason for the cancellation and giving them an address to send the deposit back. We got a response telling us they cancelled our reservation. It is now March and I still have not received my deposit back. I have contacted them numerous times with no response from them. I am very disappointed that they haven't refunded my deposit, and will not go back because of this. read more

I've travelled a lot and stayed in countless beach rentals and this is one of my new favorites. The rooms are spotless and well maintained. The pull out couch I spent the night on has an inflatable mattress that made it the best one I've slept on. There have been many. They have created a beach at the end of every deck above the water line so you can still feel the sand on your toes at high tide. The sound of the surf is accompanied by the breeze made our stay fantastic. Honestly Michelle the manager was phenomenal. During our stay a gull was injured and she was totally on it in the best way. She handled it with grace and compassion and tremendous consideration of the young children watching the events unfold. You should definitely stay here. read more

Made a big mistake to stay there for four nights this summer (waited to write my review due to legal action). Left after two days. Every review that I have read totally misrepresents this place. The rooms are MOLDY, FILTHY, OLD and ILL KEMPT. The bathroom did not have a toilet that worked or a shower that drained. We complained immediately to the "manger" Michele Gawly who is one of the most unpleasant people I have had misfortune to have to deal with. She would not accommodate any of our requests. They force you to send a check as a deposit and sign a contract because they know this place is a dump. I am convinced they write all the reviews. DO NOT STAY HERE. AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL!! read more

I recently joined Yelp and was surprised to see this review. I visited in 2012,2013 and 2014. It was the same manager each year who went above and beyond. She upgraded our room, assisted with dinner reservations and always greeted us with a smile when we passed her on the resort. The resort is right on the beach-- the rooms are all apartment style suites and all have ocean views. I have stayed in 3 different suites and all have been clean and modern. (yes, of course it is a BEACH resort, so some sand is to be expected.). The only smell in my suite was fresh ocean air. It seems unlikely that the resort writes all the Trip Advisor reviews--- I say this with confidence since I reviewed them myself on that site. read more

We just returned from a week-long stay at the Crow's Nest, to the tune of $3,248. We figured the extra money was worth it because the Crow's Nest advertised such amenities as a washer/dryer, a dishwasher, A/C and wi-fi. However, NONE OF THOSE AMENITIES WORKED! Not a a single one. We stayed in Unit #16. Also, the "daily housekeeping" they advertised was misleading. What we found instead was that twice during our stay we had to ask for clean towels, and we did our own cleaning and emptying of trash. (Forget making the bed and/or clean bed linen.) And, after I dropped an earring in the bedroom, I lifted the dust ruffle on the bed to find a filthy floor and someone's old, dirty baseball cap. (I have photos.) In frustration and exasperation, I finally called the owner of the Crow's Nest, Jim McCusker, but he wouldn't take my call. His secretary said he was out of town on business and would call me when he returned. I'm sure you know where this is going: we're back home and I'm still waiting for Mr. McCusker's return call. AVOID THIS PLACE! Go a mile down the road on 6A and you'll find better accommodations with the same amenities (none) for $1,000 cheaper. read more
