Clean and large. So how do I get someone setting up next to me at 1AM with car running and a pump? Plenty of space to avoid this.

This time we brought our own camper last time we stayed in one of the campgrounds campers. If you…read moreare planning on mostly hanging out at the campground it is not like most. The playground is out of date along with the store on the property. It is a great campground to stay at for the following reasons; 1. beach is up the road 2. you can hike a short hike through the woods on a path to the Highland lighthouse 3. it is on the bus route that you can take for $2 right into P-Town 4. you are centrally located so you can either travel towards Brewster or the other way towards P-Town 5. there is so much around the area to do The front desk people aren't very outgoing but the staff we met on the grounds were friendly. The campground is clean and quiet and the "seasonals" are very friendly. Overall if you are looking for a place just to put your camper or tent with no frills but great location this is it.

No signs so it's hard to locate your campsite area. Wouldn't come again but we made do

We've been coming to North of Highland for many years, and this summer it was a relief to arrive at…read moreour favorite, immaculate, wooded, quiet, private campsite, dump our gear, and walk down to the sparkling seashore to swim and nap after the six hour drive from Brooklyn. As usual, once we're here we tend to drive the car as little as possible and just use bikes and feet to get around. This year, due to Covid-19, the place was quieter. But the staff are taking pains to keep everything spotless throughout the day, and measures are in place to make sure folks safely socially distance. So, under the pine trees while cooking dinner, the sand in our hair or later in our tents under the stars, it felt like the world was even a little bit normal for a little while. For that, we are so grateful to the people at North of Highland for working so hard to be open and prepared and for welcoming us wearing travellers to this magical corner of the Outer Cape. Highlights are the pine needles all over the sandy ground - it never feels dirty! - the short walk to the actual, enormous Ocean and a quiet, family friendly beach. And the friendly staff, the enforced quiet hours that let your rest at night (there's no partying here, and that's why we come year after year). And the aforementioned wind in the pines, the bright stars..... No fires unless you've brought a charcoal grill. So no real smores. But that's Ok: get a fire permit from the local fire dept and have a real, legal fire on the beach while you listen to the waves.

Just back after a week at North of Highlands...our third trip. It was our best ever. The weather…read morewas spectacular as we closed the summer on a high note. Our site was immaculate and set up against the pines with just enough privacy. We took advantage of the walk to Head of the Meadow Beach enjoy the unspoiled beauty of the outer Cape. The true measure of a camp experience is the shared facilities. These bathrooms and showers were immaculate. They say they clean them multiple times a day and it shows. Some noted that the many rules are restrictive...we find them the opposite and they create a quiet and respectful community. Can't wait to return next year.

Blueberry Hill is a private campground tucked into the Myles Standish State Forest in Plymouth. My…read moregrandfather was one of the founding campers in 1959, my family started camping there when I was six, and we had a permanent site by 1968; my brother has that site now. "Permanent" constructions aren't allowed. You can put campers and tents there, and build frames of 2x4s, canvas, mesh netting and fiberboard that have the appearance of a cabin. People park refrigerators, tables and appliances there, and generally stay throughout the season, which runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day. There's a pond for swimming, fishing and sailing, forests in which to hike, a recreation area with a basketball court and other amenities. The sites are seasonal leases (no short term camping) and can roll over year-to-year, and Site #12 isn't the only one that's been in the hands of one family for fifty years or more. Contact the owners to get on the waiting list for an opening, but understand that preference is often given to the families of current or old-time campers. Times have changed, some, and now water and electric hookups have replaced the propane-fired refrigerators and send-the-kids-to-the-public-taps-with-jerricans of my youth. More people are there weekends-only and fewer live there all summer long. But it's still the home of my heart, forever. And if you can get your own site, thank your lucky stars. It'll be one of the best things that ever happened to you.

Mainly rvs with nice tent spots. The proximity to beaches restaurants and even the bike trail adds to the appeal of Atlantic Oaks Campground. The cons are few and didn't impact our stay or the rating. The point here is that you're going to the beach. So No pool, but go to the beach :) Next internet is about a decade behind, e-mail light browsing work. Internet coverage is wide with barely any dead spots just slow. Tips!! Go to Arnold's for food it's a short walk and it's fun and tasty great onion rings and scallops bring cash. Don't forget to return your gate key. Oh and one more have your campfire but have it put out with water by 11pm.

Someone mentioned…read morein another review that they thought this place is a "cash grab", and I could not disagree more. It's also the cleanest and most well-run private campground on the Cape, in my opinion. I had made a reservation earlier that day in person on the phone, mentioned I would be getting in late. I got a friendly call from them later to make sure I could get to camp ok if it was after hours, and to make sure I did so quietly. I was impressed at the concern not just of my experience but that of the other guests. I write this on the front porch, just outside their very nice common area, sipping a good cup of coffee ($1.75, vs $3 at the far inferior North of Highlands campground) and about to get back on the bike. One more note, I mentioned I had forgotten to pack a cup, didn't see anything just right in their otherwise well-appointed camp store, and wouldn't you know Brian pulls up at my site later in his golf cart with the loan of a coffee mug! In the thru-hiking/biking community they call that "trail magic".
