We were going to celebrate my 12 year sobriety anniversary tomorrow at Race Point Beach = My happy place. Expedia said that they would advocate for me with the masthead. I wasn't expecting any kind of refund since I cancelled with such short notice due to the aforementioned emergency. It would have lifted our spirits and not been a financial burden if they could have given us some form of credit to a future stay, but like expedia said that have very strict policies. It is a shame that The Topmast resort up the road is not open in the winter. I wouldn't be in this situation if they were. When it rains it pours. Short of being on Commercial St, you really can't do better. It's MAX a 5 min walk to a pretty centrally located part of Commercial Street. There is a really cool rooftop area that is ideal for a glass of wine or a relaxing moment. Check in was seamless. Our room was actually ready an hour earlier than expected. The room is decorated beautifully and the linens were some of the most comfortable linens I've ever slept on. GF and I. were joking that we need to ask them what they are because they are so orgasmic to lay in. The AC worked very well and the room as very cold. We had our own bathroom, which was the biggest upgrade from the last place we stayed in Ptown but the overall size of the room was a bit small. For normal people,, it probably would be fine but because we came as part of a 3 week work trip, we had a ton of luggage and it was a real challlenge to fit it in the room and be able to walk around. Overall, I would recommend this place.

We loved our stay and look forward to staying here again on our next trip out. The room is plenty, about what you'd expect at a hotel. Windows that open, a heating and cooling unit, refrigerator, en suite bathroom, and a large comfortable bed. My absolute favorite part is the location. Just far enough from the main paths to be very, very quiet at night and still barely a 5 minute walk away from the center. (Also; the breakfast sandwiches at the cafe next door are fantastic.) There's two other Dyers here- the Inn, and the Barn(condo on Winthrop, sleeps 6). Update; we've stayed here several days now. These have become condos, so each owner puts a different level of care into their property and prices are set according to their sense of value - so more $$ isn't necessarily a better cottage. The property manager is attentive and friendly. The ocean is right there. But it is a steep walk down the dunes. It's also a public beach. I always visit on the off season and have found the beach to be nearly deserted, even in mid June. It is especially lovely in the early morning. It's about a 3/4 mile bike ride to the cape cod rail trail, on the paved road which has little shoulder but in the off season anyway the drivers are safe and respectful. The road riding around the ponds is excellent -rolling hills, quiet roads. It's also only about a 10 minute walk to the Marconi site and cedar trail boardwalk. Go down lacount hollow towards rte 6 and turn down the sand road called "wireless". The ponds of wellfleet are a delight- clear and clean and again nearly deserted in mid June. The water is chilly though! I've always stayed in the cabin called surf side. It is well furnished and comfortable. Lots of storage, nice kitchen even a dishwasher! The stairs to the two upstairs bedrooms are VERY steep and precarious. My 70 old mother can just do them. The bathroom is modern and clean, shower only - with a skylight in it! The bath is right off the kitchen which can be a bit awkward-the owners have provided air freshener! On that topic - these owners provide much more than you would expect - Tupperware, bags and wraps, dish soap, all manner of dishes and cooking gear. The group of condos also has a laundry facility - $2.00 to wash and the same to dry. You need quarters. The town of wellfleet has ample dining options. The harbor beaches are nice for long walks and sea shell collection. Bugs are dismal everywhere in wellfleet, especially at surfside. Bring your preferred bug prevention and keep the screen door closed.

I am writing to formally document my experience at the CopperSwan Inn and to strongly recommend…read morethat others NOT book this hotel. My wife and I arrived on Saturday, July 25, at approximately 3:00 PM, which was the exact check-in time provided in the hotel's welcome email. The reception area was vacant, with no staff member available to greet us, provide check-in information, or explain the property or amenities. A note containing our name and a room key had simply been left for us. I was also surprised to discover that although our confirmation stated we had booked a room in "The Carriage House," that was not the accommodation we received. We were never informed of the change or given any explanation. Based on the photographs on the hotel's website, the room we received appeared to be of lesser quality than the accommodation we had booked and paid for. We received no information about common areas, breakfast, or other important aspects of the property. Unfortunately, the problems continued throughout our five-day stay. On our first night, the toilet in our room became clogged. I searched the property for a staff member but could not find anyone. I checked again the following morning with the same result. The first-floor bathroom was also clogged. I eventually located a plunger there and used it to unclog our toilet myself, then returned the plunger. We also never received the breakfast advertised as being included with our reservation. Each morning, my wife and I searched the property and grounds but found no breakfast or information about where it was being served. On Sunday morning, we went to Brekkies next door, where we paid full price for our meal. We were never asked whether we were CopperSwan guests, nor were we told that breakfast would be provided off-site or that any special arrangements were required. Our reservation specifically stated that an "enhanced continental breakfast" was included. Housekeeping was another major issue. Our room was not serviced, and towels and sheets were not replaced until Tuesday, July 28, despite our placing the housekeeping sign outside the door each day requesting service. When housekeeping finally entered, all of our towels were removed but none were replaced. A bathroom garbage bag was removed and left on the floor inside our room, while the bathroom garbage was not replaced. I ultimately had to find clean towels myself in the first-floor linen closet. Garbage that I placed in the hallway Tuesday afternoon remained there until we left the following day. I also attempted to contact the property manager Sunday evening by phone and email. I could not reach anyone by phone and received no response to my initial email. A response to a second email finally arrived on the day of our departure. The sender did not identify themselves or their position and stated that my original email had gone to their spam folder. Maintaining a reliable method of communication with guests should be a basic responsibility of the property. During our stay, I spoke with multiple other guests who reported similar difficulties locating or contacting staff. I stayed at the property for five days without having a single interaction with a staff member, which I found extremely concerning. My wife's family has been visiting Wellfleet for more than 40 years, and neither they nor I have experienced this level of service at a lodging establishment in the area. While any hotel can experience an isolated problem, our experience was a pattern of failures involving check-in, communication, plumbing, housekeeping, towels, garbage removal, breakfast, and the accommodation we were actually provided. What was most disappointing was the apparent lack of accountability and communication throughout our stay. Based on this experience, I strongly recommend that you do not book a stay at the CopperSwan Inn. You will likely be very disappointed.

We paid $540.00 plus tax for 2 nights mid week in July. This place wasn't worth it. It has great…read morepotential but not enough care or an investment have been made in it. There were no employees about the place; it was all self-serve. The walls and woodwork in our room were cracked and peeling, the shower and room floor were dirty and most of the all white linen and towels had stains on them. They had pillow shams on the 4 pillows on the bed, but no pillow cases. Most importantly, there was no smoke detector in our room, just an empty bracket. This was very surprising, given their experience with a fire in their place in 2023. The Brekkie place next door where we had breakfast included in the cost of our room was cold each day. I do not recommend this place and hope it gets better.
