I arrived late on Saturday and she found me Sunday morning reading in the sun on a lounge chair and said something like "oh you look so comfortable there, stay! I'll check you in whenever you are ready." That was just so nice as I was tired from traveling. The vibe is easygoing and full of kindness. Some guests that knew each other had had a celebration and we came back to PRL while they were having dessert. They offered us cake and ice cream and we sat and joined them! Poor Richard's Landing evokes the best of Provincetown - how the community welcomes and supports people. Straight couples, gay men, lesbian women, and trans and non-binary folx were all present during my week on the wharf. There is a shared gas grill, plus bicycles and locks, kayaks, life jackets, floaties, and beach chairs available. Cottage #2 is super cute with a bedroom with a view of the beach and MacMillan Pier, and a table and chairs with the same view in the living area. There is a single bed in the living room- with a trundle underneath! (I think you have to pay extra for a 4th person). No couch, but a cozy reading chair. Galley kitchen is very narrow with a half fridge but has everything you need. Bathroom has a sliding door and a nice hot shower. The toilet is right up against the wall so there's a little bit of maneuvering involved if you are, like me, a little overweight. There are heaters and fans to help control the temperature, and the bay breeze is wonderful. This is a GREAT PLACE. The dune shacks were originally built to help shipwrecked sailors who made it to shore- inside the shacks there was everything a sailor might need to survive- food, clean clothes, a bed- and in the same spirit Poor Richard's Landing is truly a safe harbor. These have become condos, so each owner puts a different level of care into their property and prices are set according to their sense of value - so more $$ isn't necessarily a better cottage. The property manager is attentive and friendly. The ocean is right there. But it is a steep walk down the dunes. It's also a public beach. I always visit on the off season and have found the beach to be nearly deserted, even in mid June. It is especially lovely in the early morning. It's about a 3/4 mile bike ride to the cape cod rail trail, on the paved road which has little shoulder but in the off season anyway the drivers are safe and respectful. The road riding around the ponds is excellent -rolling hills, quiet roads. It's also only about a 10 minute walk to the Marconi site and cedar trail boardwalk. Go down lacount hollow towards rte 6 and turn down the sand road called "wireless". The ponds of wellfleet are a delight- clear and clean and again nearly deserted in mid June. The water is chilly though! I've always stayed in the cabin called surf side. It is well furnished and comfortable. Lots of storage, nice kitchen even a dishwasher! The stairs to the two upstairs bedrooms are VERY steep and precarious. My 70 old mother can just do them. The bathroom is modern and clean, shower only - with a skylight in it! The bath is right off the kitchen which can be a bit awkward-the owners have provided air freshener! On that topic - these owners provide much more than you would expect - Tupperware, bags and wraps, dish soap, all manner of dishes and cooking gear. The group of condos also has a laundry facility - $2.00 to wash and the same to dry. You need quarters. The town of wellfleet has ample dining options. The harbor beaches are nice for long walks and sea shell collection. Bugs are dismal everywhere in wellfleet, especially at surfside. Bring your preferred bug prevention and keep the screen door closed.

My family enjoyed the small community-based cottages with our friends. There were even beach chairs and umbrellas provided for every cottage. There is also a kitchen with a stove and fridge provided next to the living room area. The cottages are small, and you would have to make your own bed. If you need anything like toilet paper, towels, or extra blankets, you should call the main number and they would provide what you need in a speedy amount of time. The only downsides that I can think of regarding the stay included that the beds weren't too comfortable, there weren't enough trash bins, and nowhere to put all of the dirty towels. Checkout also included dropping off your trash at an unknown location and doing a sweep of the houses. Check-in was not cheap so I don't understand why it is that we have to clean the house that we're staying in too. It's a nice place to stay so I recommend it, but definitely keep all of these things in mind.

We've been visiting for the…read morepast 15 years, and it's always a pleasure to enjoy a Cape Cod weekend with Innkeepers Denise & Peter at this delightful inn. We've found the rooms to be clean, comfortable and well appointed. The grounds are beautiful and well cared for, and there is a nice pool area as well. The Inn itself is located just a short walk from Nauset Beach, which is super convenient. The town of Orleans has nice shopping and plenty of dining options as well. Denise puts together a wonderful breakfast each morning with a rotation of delicious baked goods and other treats. On this last visit I happened to mention that I love pancakes, and there they were the next morning! Again, if we ever have a special request, Denise & Peter will do everything to make it happen. We are so happy that our friends found this Inn years ago, and invited us to join them, and we've been returning ever since. If you are looking for a nice place for your Cape vacation, look no further.

It was absolutely fantastic, right on the beach - the nicest beach in my experience on the Cape. It was so clean that I never used any of the wipes I brought, I felt totally safe. There is every kitchen facility you could want - including a blender! - but I mostly had take-out and there are lots of great restaurants a short drive away, as well as optional beaches, walks, and bicycle hire. I will be back and already have Colorado friends interested in booking.

No response until 4:13 from someone called Tash saying there was availability, and to let them know if interested, and they would respond with deposit instructions. I replied at 4:52 PM, saying I was interested and requested clarification on the rate, because it was more than what their rate schedule on the website said. I had told my wife it was a beachfront room, and we were really excited. We go to the outer Cape for a week every summer, but did not book ahead this year as I had recently started a new job, and I was scrambling to find something last minute for 2 nights. As of 6:55 PM, I did not have a response, so decided to call. Couldn't understand the name with the accent, but told the person I was in contact already and wanted to book the room, and was told nothing was available. I asked how, I was already in contact, and I was told she came in at 3, there were multiple people taking reservations. HOW IS A PENDING RESERVATION NOT COMMUNICATED??? An offer for a room was made. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT after getting so excited. This is the worst thing a reservation desk could do. Saying in email that the message does not guarantee a reservation doesn't mean you have BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

My first visit was in July and I was the fortunate beneficiary of a last minute cancelation in the Stable, one of three cottages I'd come to call my home away from home. Since that magical trip I've been back to Lis Sur Mer with my kids, with my dog, with friends and a few times on my own and had the pleasure of staying in each of the cottages. Lis Sur Mer is a quiet retreat in North Truro with three cottages, each with its own unique charm. The owner clearly takes pride in providing the ultimate cape experience from maintaining the natural landscape and foliage of the local environment, to the privacy and deliberate tranquility of each cottage, to the obvious care taken in outfitting the spaces with furniture, artwork and other comforts that extend the peace of the Cape into the peace of my home away from home. The property embodies the natural habitat of the Cape and has its own private beach on the bay where sunsets are spectacular and fellow beach-goers are scarce. The off season rates can't be beat, so I've made Lis Sur Mer my regular destination for a long winter weekend, Thanksgiving, New Years and week-long stays during the warm months. The property staff is attentive and warm. The local shops and restaurants are welcoming and fun to visit. My favorite is Chequessett Chocolate just up the road in North Truro - best cappuccino with almond milk outside of NYC!

Something I had dreamt of, yearned for. Always so crowded. I was searching online one day and I saw Lis Sur Mer. "Artist Cottages." We decided to start a new tradition. Come to the Cape for Christmas. When we got here, it was off the main road, then off the secondary road. We stayed in "The Stable." It was so comfy and cozy and the grounds are amazing. You can walk (in a minute) to the stairs that lead to the beach. The three cottages are just far apart enough for total privacy. Peace. Quiet. I never slept so well in my life. We definitely knew we wanted to come back in the spring. They let us see the Beach Cottage. This was my dream come true! All the windows in front look out at the bay and Provincetown. When you walk in there are high ceilings, beams and charming antiques. Eclectic. Magical. Old Cape Cod. You do not immediately see modern devices, but they are there! The hard wood floors, beams and skylights all catch your eye. There is a fireplace when you walk in, (old fashioned gas) and in the first bedroom a king size bed and a fireplace. Romantic. I also write, and the table in front of the window is perfect. The towels are glorious and plentiful! This comforter seems to keep me at the perfect temperature! (not easy) The proprietor is a good, kind man and if you need anything there are 3 wonderful people here to help you. I could go on but believe me, if you get a chance come stay here. Every person who writes in the visitors book says just about the same things. You will be renewed. Lis Sur Mer is magical! They have a Facebook page. We will be back in June! P.S.
