Just back after a week at North of Highlands...our third trip. It was our best ever. The weather…read morewas spectacular as we closed the summer on a high note. Our site was immaculate and set up against the pines with just enough privacy. We took advantage of the walk to Head of the Meadow Beach enjoy the unspoiled beauty of the outer Cape. The true measure of a camp experience is the shared facilities. These bathrooms and showers were immaculate. They say they clean them multiple times a day and it shows. Some noted that the many rules are restrictive...we find them the opposite and they create a quiet and respectful community. Can't wait to return next year.

The staff was friendly, and the place was wonderful all around. We would 100% come back here and totally recommend it. We like to stay along the outskirts of the rest of the sites as not to be surrounded by all sides by other people.

No signs so it's hard to locate your campsite area. Wouldn't come again but we made do

The pavment on the roads is buckeling and falling part. THe grounds are not maintained as well. Internet is not reliable or strong. Many perm sites have been vacated. I have no issue with the staff, all have been nice and pleasant.

I called the phone number available to ask my question and I was met with a rude condescending woman who went out of her way to belittle me for asking if they had flush toilets and hot showers. I hate to break it to her, but not all places have flush toilets. One perfect example is Horseneck beach in Westport. This woman is was only rude and condescending but also ignorant. They will not be getting my money.

Mainly rvs with nice tent spots. The proximity to beaches restaurants and even the bike trail adds to the appeal of Atlantic Oaks Campground. The cons are few and didn't impact our stay or the rating. The point here is that you're going to the beach. So No pool, but go to the beach :) Next internet is about a decade behind, e-mail light browsing work. Internet coverage is wide with barely any dead spots just slow. Tips!! Go to Arnold's for food it's a short walk and it's fun and tasty great onion rings and scallops bring cash. Don't forget to return your gate key. Oh and one more have your campfire but have it put out with water by 11pm.

Well, another bike camping trip on the Cape and another fine night staying here. Someone mentioned…read morein another review that they thought this place is a "cash grab", and I could not disagree more. It's also the cleanest and most well-run private campground on the Cape, in my opinion. I had made a reservation earlier that day in person on the phone, mentioned I would be getting in late. I got a friendly call from them later to make sure I could get to camp ok if it was after hours, and to make sure I did so quietly. I was impressed at the concern not just of my experience but that of the other guests. I write this on the front porch, just outside their very nice common area, sipping a good cup of coffee ($1.75, vs $3 at the far inferior North of Highlands campground) and about to get back on the bike. One more note, I mentioned I had forgotten to pack a cup, didn't see anything just right in their otherwise well-appointed camp store, and wouldn't you know Brian pulls up at my site later in his golf cart with the loan of a coffee mug! In the thru-hiking/biking community they call that "trail magic".

Tent sites were very clean and fairly spacious, tho ours was a tad hard to back into especially with other guests in their sites with their cars parked. The bathroom and showers were very clean - solid water pressure and the water got really hot. They werent too far from our site either. The camp store seemed to have really anything you needed during camping. The water spicket at the tent site was nice to have for cleaning and putting the fire out, as well as the picnic table. They said there was a 1mi trail that leads to the beach - well we found a trail right close by that is 1mi BUT this trail does not lead to the beach, not sure where that trail is. But Breakwater Beach nearby is a must do, especially at low tide. Overall I'd come back to this site, my first real camping trip was a success

POLICY IS POLICY", even when it is detrimental to their business…read more So unfortunate. I run an event that tries to support local businesses. We reserved and paid for 5 campsites one weekend, and referred a number of our vendor to this location as well. Despite that, the campground would not hold reservations for the following weekend without full payment in advance. We asked them to hold it for three days and were told "policy is policy". Also, apparently one of our campers taking their child to the comfort station in the rain, so they drove over. Apparently they had barely parked for a moment before somebody in a staff shirt came out berating them for parking there. At 2:00 a.m. Ridiculous. But again, apparently, "policy is policy", logic and business sense be damned. Terrible way to treat a business looking to grow a relationship and not only paid for a number of sites, but directed campers there as well. EDIT: Astonishingly hostile, shrill, and unprofessional phone call received at 11:30am on 6/12. Owner/manager (?) called about "nasty" reviews and "slander" (note: nothing above is "slanderous"...just because someone doesn't like what you have to say about them, doesn't make it untrue). Generally just confirmed my initial impression surrounding the lack of professionalism exhibited by this establishment. If they are willing to call someone up and, instead of try to address and rectify any misunderstanding are INSTEAD looking for a fight...clearly these folks are just a hot mess. DEFINITELY stay away.
