Beautiful campsite! They are handling COVID very well. The campsites are spaced out and the capacity limit is half of what it used to be. It was a peaceful escape and I miss it already.

I love coming here and have come here every year for 4 years. Great clean campsites, so close to home but far enough away.

The facilities in the school are really nice. The location is in a quiet wooded area. The coaching staff is internationally diverse and the camp is run in a very professional manner. Horrible camp! Wish I could give a zero rating. Don't let the fancy campus and price tag fool you!!…read moreMy child was dismissed for the entire summer after just two weeks. This is his first camp. His behavior has been stellar at all places since he was 12 weeks old. He was every teacher's shining star. He rarely, if ever, had an incident. Most recently, he attended The Shed for a year without incident. One of his counselors at Brooks admitted to me that all the children needed reminding about using quiet hands recently. So it is obvious my son was singled out. He was bullied every day, yet no counselor apparently noticed. I called Brooks staff to share this. I trust my son's statements that the counselor's refused to help him when he was taunted and told him to "go away," or "leave" or "bye-bye." What do you as a parent when your child uses their words and receives such treatment? I'd get pretty frustrated. The counselors are poorly trained, they don't know their own camp policies (which one admitted to me in the parking lot) and the camp is terribly disorganized. Every time I spoke to someone different and they don't communicate internally, so some staff never communicated with anyone at the camp about any issues! Even the day he was dismissed, the person who called me said this was all news to them that I already had several conversations with Brooks folks. No one bothered to read the copious amount of notes I put in the application paperwork about what works and doesn't work for my son, which was asked of me. He was in early intervention when he was younger. This camp cost me $5,000 (over $1,000 a week, plus bus and meals). Not to mention they put all the kids in a room with nothing to do when it rains. I work full-time and I am a single parent. They have a "three strikes and you're out" policy and now I am left without any resources until the start of school in September. Never have I encountered such a level of incompetency overall and disregard for my child. Every one needs to be safe. I have no argument with that. But I have no confidence in Brooks' statements due to their disorganization and lack of consistency when it comes to communication and treating all children fairly. I had no insight into what lead up to the so-called incidents with my son which speaks volumes. That information is key for behavior modification so please be aware. Also conveniently, they have a no refunds policy if your child is dismissed. STAY far, far away. Next camp I'll be better prepared to make sure the environment is safe, controlled and the counselors aren't 14 and in training. I feel betrayed and ripped off BIG TIME. Nonetheless I am grateful to have learned from this experience and can share this with my fellow citizens.

For years, camp was her favorite place in the world, and she dreamed of one day becoming a counselor. She worked her way from camper to junior CIT to counselor, and the memories she made during that time were priceless. Unfortunately, when management changed, so did the atmosphere. The new leadership created an environment of favoritism and division, and my daughter--who had once felt so at home--found herself singled out and targeted by the owner. Camp shifted from a place she loved to one that left her feeling anxious and defensive. By the summer after her sophomore year, things had deteriorated so badly that she cut ties entirely. The most upsetting moment came just this week, when my daughter and a friend returned to collect an item from a 2020 time capsule. Although they were invited back by current staff, the owner treated them like intruders, personally escorting them off the property and watching them leave. This was an unnecessarily hostile end to what had once been a beautiful chapter in her life. I'm certain many children still have incredible summers here, and I truly hope they experience the same joy my daughter once did. But this review is directed solely at the current management, whose treatment of staff and alumni is deeply disappointing

My son attended from age 5 til age 17-- under the previous management my son benefited and enjoyed being a Jr CIT, CIT and Counselor. My daughter attended ages 5-14-- when the new management came in. This place used to feel like all the benefits of a sleep away camp, without the sleep away. The staff years ago were invested in every camper being themselves and making lifelong friendships. Since Ali Loscutoff took over many former campers don't stay as staff. Today 2 former campers returned to open a time capsule they buried 2020 to retrieve an item. They were asked to leave. The spirit of the camp clearly is not a priority for the new leadership. In the past I had tried to diplomatically share with her that her management style was pushing people away for her only to dismiss me.

It was our daughters first show. It was very organized and everyone had a wonderful time. Due to the hard work and determination of the barn owner Tish and all of the instructors (Robin, Paula, Megan, Kat) each time we are there it is a wonderful experience. Our daughter took home three show ribbons. We couldn't be more pround to be a part of the Windkist family. We are very excited to have our daughter join the ZO Windkist riding team in two years. This staff works tremendously hard to maintain the health horses of their horses, clean stalls, water buckets, turn outs, indoor area. The overall barn is very clean and organized. Our daughter works with instructors Robin and Kat! They are extremely patient, wonderful teaching kids responsibility and proper barn etiquette. I could write so much more. If you have a child or an adult we highly recommend Windkist Farm.
