I have been coming to Drumlin since I was a kid attending summer camp, and it never loses its charm. I'm now a Mass Audubon member and bring my kids here. They absolutely love seeing all the animals, including sheep, goats, pigs, cows, chickens, and a horse, as well as all the large birds. There's a couple small play areas that they also enjoy. There's lots of space around if you want to bring a picnic and relax in the grass. There are also many trails, if you're up for a walk. Overall just a great spot. read more

I'm a Mass Audubon member and was looking for something fun outside to do with my 3 year old daughter today. Drumlin Farm was perfect! Due to pandemic precautions the barn isn't open but the rest rooms are. You need to reserve tickets in advance. There's a loop trail that is 4 miles and goes all through the working farm. We saw birds of prey, goats, sheep, chickens, & a rabbit. We didn't see it so it was probably sleeping but there's a red fox too! The path is unpaved but it was still relatively easy to push a stroller on them. I'm looking forward to when the hay ride opens up for the season & will definitely be back. read more

All I can say is wow!! This was like a little slice of heaven. Tons of families hanging out in the grass having picnics (not crowded though!), adorable lambs and sheep you could pet, fascinating signs teaching you about farming/native wildlife, trails to walk, and just a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy on a spring afternoon. read more

I took my 4 and 5 year old here for a fun experience while we were killing time during their father's business trip. I was imagining a wholesome, family-friendly atmosphere when I pre-booked timed tickets to the farm. Upon arrival I was able to see how easy it would be to just walk on property without stopping at the ticket booth, but wanting to show that I'm an honest person who wants to support the farm, I stopped by the booth to inquire if this was where I was supposed to show my proof of purchase. As I did so, while my back was turned, my son took a strawberry from a lone pint container put out on a table for sale and was already eating it by the time I understood what had happened. (This was the extent of the produce offerings on display. As to whether there had been more out earlier in the day or not I don't know. It was about 1:45pm when we arrived; the farm closed at 4pm). Mortified, I took his hand and began explaining to him as we walked why he should not have done that, and that the berries were for sale only. As I'm doing so we were intercepted by the young man from the ticket/check-in booth chasing us down the path as if we were criminals to tell us that we needed to pay for the container since my son took a berry. That--especially given the approach--really didn't sit well with me after just having paid nearly 30 dollars for entry. Evidently that was indicative of the overall tone of the place because every staff member we encountered at the farm during our time there was less than welcoming or friendly. This place is fun and there is lots to do, though it is on the pricy side for an individual visit. There are barns of goats, sheep, chickens to see. There is an adorable fox. We came on a Saturday and there were cool educational tables set up with animal pelts, different animal eggs, and other things with interactive docents who answered all my kids' questions. There is a hayride (this is a separate charge), which is dragged by a tractor. They are very strict about eating in picnic areas, which are not easy to find using the map, and one is right by the bathrooms, which is unpleasant. And the price is too high and I wish it just included one hayride, because everyone wants to do that. read more

Perfect for toddlers (if a little on the pricy side) there were clean bathrooms and water fountains everywhere, and little activities the 2.5 year olds got really into -- sitting on wooden horses and a stationary tractor, large wall puzzles, weighing and sorting wooden eggs.) The wagon ride was -- at best -- an1/8th of a mile loop, but again perfect for very little kids. We spent the morning looking at the cleanest animals in a working farm I've ever seen, and got an apple at the farm stand for snack. Overall, an awesome activity for a summer Sunday. read more
