Go ELSEWHERE FOR SWIMMING LESSONS - I have overseen/attended swimming lessons here for a month, every Wednesday with both a 4yr old and 7yr old. I am going to try and make this short and sweet, my overall thoughts are - don't waste your time paying for swimming lessons here. The lessons on all levels have been nothing but unorganized. Once we waited around for an extra 10min while the employees scrambled to "find" the kids they were supposed to to be teaching. In general, the lessons are taught by adolescents and individuals in their early twenties -if that. Normally this wouldn't be a problem (I am 27yrs old myself) however the lack of authority, organization and enthusiasm to work with children has shown every single day that we have arrived at the swimming lessons. It's like all swimming instructor staff is left with no sense of direction by the higher-ups (who sit in a closet by the jacuzzi) by the way) The instructors are always changing -there is no stability for your child in regards to bonding and feeling safe with a specific swim instructor in the water (which is key for children who are terrified of the water). I have even witnessed on multiple occasions an actual swim instructor complaining about "getting splashed" .. is that a joke!? You'd think when you put a bathing suit on and get paid to be IN the water with children under the age of 7 you are obviously going to get wet. The instructors are actually afraid of getting their hair wet... I could go on and on about this place (overwhelming urine smell in "family bathroom") but this is supposed to be a review, not a roast session. I personally am not even a parent who has wasted my money on these "lessons" - unfortunately, I am a nanny who has watched the children I take here be less than thrilled to do swimming lessons, which makes sense to me completely after watching the struggle of the employees week after week.

There are plenty of friendly people if you want to socialize a bit more as well. I find the gym to be clean with modern equipment that is always in good working order. If something needs repair it usually gets fixed very quickly. A lot of the bad reviews on here are for the the payment and cancellation policies. I have zero experience with that, so I won't comment. It is very funny to see people talk about how rude the staff is. I have never experienced that either, quite the opposite. I have however seen lots of angry people take out their frustrations over the gym's policies on the people that work at the gym. I have seen people basically scream at the front desk staff for not allowing them to break rules, like bringing guests to classes and other such entitled nonsense. If this was my business, and I saw Robin or Jamie stand up to angry entitled customers, I would be so grateful that they were behaving like owners, the dream quality of any business owner's staff. I get the reviews for not liking the policies. And it is easy to come on to a site like this and maybe that makes you feel better. I just dislike seeing good people get abused. I can't recommend this gym enough. It is a great value, really nice facility with what I have deemed to be an awesome staff. I love starting my day there.

I had a membership and was getting some individual training and paying for that. Then I got breast cancer and after my surgery and during radiation I requested to put my training and my membership on hold but told them I would return as soon as I could. I can't recall now but they have a policy of putting things on hold for only a limited amount of time and then it starts back up again - even with the letter from my surgeon and radiologist. So they were charging me while I was recovering from surgery, etc. For some strange reason - I had imagined they would be sympathetic and might want to partner with me in my recovery. But that would be a big no. They had zero sympathy and insisted that charging me was just their policy and that was that. I was super disappointed in them on many levels. I cancelled my membership and of course that was complicated as well. I spent money on many months of membership and personal training I could not use and showed very good reason for not being able to do so. Just sad - helping someone recover and get their strength and self esteem back after traumatic surgery ... well that would have been a nice review to write. Just wasn't going to happen here.

I am certainly glad I was wrong about that, and after one workout I was hooked. The trainers are excellent at modifying moves for beginners or if you have any physical limitations. The team atmosphere and the workouts are like nothing I have ever experienced at any other gym. This place motivates you to get better and work harder every time you walk through the door, something that I wasn't getting at my regular gym. I would typically wander around doing a little of this and a little of that and convincing myself that it was better than nothing. I guess that would be true if I was in the shape that I want to be in, but I am not. At Crossfit the workouts are laid out for you and the atmosphere makes you push yourself to a level that you didn't even know you had. I know that after 6 weeks I feel stronger and leaner than I have in a very long time. If you really want to make a change in the way you look and feel, you should give it a try.

From the start the staff was very friendly, and helpful, after getting a tour, I tried my first complimentary class, I had a great 60 -minute workout, especially never using the rower before. I like the way OTF mixes up the workouts. I also like how you monitor your heart rate, and the different ages of people, and body types that workout at OTF. Within the first month I went from 2 classes a week to 5 plus classes a week and love it. I am getting great results!!! I really enjoy the way OTF coaches work the floor-pay attention, and know how to motive, and push at just the right time!!! I have worked with a personal trainer in the past, and group training, I had great success using both, but it was expensive. I didn't realize how flexible the OTF schedule was till I worked the app, when I was with group training it was Monday, Wednesdays, and Friday at either 5am or 7 am. No flexibility. At OFT I have many optional times that I can fit into my busy schedule. I would definitely recommend OTF. Len from Andover MA.
