At $19.99 a month (with no long term contracts), this is perfect for me. I can use the ellipticals, the bikes, the treadmills. And at this price, if I go three times a week, I'm still getting my money's worth. If you want glamor and glitz with a price tag to match, go to one of the "fancy" places. There are plenty of them out there. But if you're looking for a place to get in a workout without the nonsense, then check out this place. You won't be sorry!

Especially on a Sunday morning when lots of people are exercising, the gym gets quite cramped. I'm really enjoying the crossfit program at Billerica Crossfit / Fit Results. Each class is split…read moreinto a "skill", where powerlifting/crossfit exercises are taught, and the high intensity "Workout Of the Day" or "WOD", where learned skills are utilized. I think this is a good class format as the coaches take the time to work with you on form, preventing injuries down the line. The coaches: Dave, Staci, Mike, and Ryan do a great job! Some of the workouts are very intense, and there is NO WAY I would be able to push myself that hard without their encouragement. They know what they are doing, and are fantastic people. I haven't had workouts this high in intensity since college days. There is great community vibe here too. The same people show up to classes, you make friends, get inspired, get challenged, and have fun. And this produces results. In less then 2 months, I dropped 2 body fat percentage points, gained two inches in my shoulders, and lost an inch in my waist. My deadlift is up 40 lbs, and similar gains in other lifts. I'm told my posture has improved. I see similar changes in people that consistently show up. Unlike many other crossfit gyms, this gym isn't overpriced - it's half the price of popular crossfit gyms within Boston. For the money, there isn't a crossfit gym around that can offer nearly the same level of coaching and dedication that you get at Billerica Crossfit. In tough times and shrinking paychecks, I very much appreciate that this gym makes the benefits of crossfit affordable.

Fit Results is a beautiful, modern gym that sits inside the former Billerica Furniture Company location; it's a renovated barn that's been transformed into a 24/7 fitness center. I spent all of my time in the cardio area upstairs, which is accessible via its own staircase, so you have the privacy of bypassing the rest of the gym. I signed up for a single month for $40 and this gave me a nice chance to see if the gym was, for lack of a better word, a good fit for me It certainly was and I considered a longer-term contract, but unfortunately my busy schedule did not permit it. Prices are a bit higher than other area gyms and there may be a signup fee involved, so find out about current specials and packages. From what I was told, contracts can be voided if you move a certain distance and they have deals for students/young people who live at home who might move. This is a great place to work out and I definitely recommend it. If I had the time, I'd absolutely be a member.
