I've been coming here for 5-6 months and don't mind the cameras at all! They're needed these days and maybe the owner is trying to deter theft or assaults? I feel fine and question why it's a big deal if you aren't hiding anything g. This is a crazy world we live. Seriously doubt the owner is using these cameras for anything else but to protect the gym equipment and people in it. Very grateful for this wonderful place to improve myself while feeling safe and nothing to prove.

For…read morestudents between the ages of 14-22 who attend college 25+ miles away, the yearly rate is $200 instead of the monthly fee of $40 equating to $480 a year. I am 22 and a full time college student, but since I am in graduate school and not undergrad, I do not qualify for the student rate. I am very bummed about this and cannot join. The woman who was helping me and the desk however, was extremely kind and super helpful.

Today, I was trying to explain to this poor kid Sam who works there that I'm the one paying him to use the gym, and he shouldn't act like it's my privilege to pay him to use the gym. But again, it all goes to management. A really kind, hard-working female staffer named Kathy told me that Rick bullied her around, too. I know she put lots of work into cleaning the place because I saw her do it. And I think she's been axed because she refused to put up with Rick's bullying. Not too smart, keeping the former owner on; just not smart management. It'd be like Trump hiring Clinton. Coincidentally, she's not the only staff member Rick laid in on with the verbal attacks. Bottom line, management treats membership as if it's our privilege to walk into their gym, and use their tiny, TINY little locker-room. The hot water tank runs out, and because the landlord's apartment is attached to the same hot water tank, the landlord complains because his water tank ran out of hot water. It's the most absurd customer service experience ever. I'm kinda stuck there for a while, but the attitude of the people who works there is a reflection of the management's reckless disregard for membership. Hamilton Athletic Club makes working out uncomfortable and the already absurdly tiny shower room just plain weird.

But, the owner Lindsay, instantly put me at ease. Not once did I feel out of place or embarrassed. Lindsay offered modifications without making you feel less than the others. It is because of the great experience I have had here that I will continue to come back.
