Not only they cheated us by charging us more than what we agreed on initially (in writing), at one point they blackmailed us by locking our stuff in their truck, until we pay them in full. We also suspect that the company and the men they employed were illegal too. They accept only cash as a payment method. The owner SAL Cerrone, the general manager of a 3 employee company, provided me the quote in writing - $95/ hour + $89 for travel surcharge. This price is competitive with the other movers we were looking at. They were going to assemble some of the furniture for us as well. And the agreement was to provide the payment in cash after everything is assembled, and move is complete. However, this is what happened: * SAL asked for $1000 as soon as we reached to our new place. It was only after 2 1/2 hours = $250. When we contested with them, they backed off and said that it was a miscalculation! * Again after 45 minutes (3rd hour running now), they asked for $600 in cash (instead of $300), and stopped unloading the truck until we pay them completely. They threatened to drive away the truck with our furniture, appliances, electronics in it, if we do not agree to pay them right away. * After a few phone calls and discussion, we were so tired that we paid them $500 and got our stuff unloaded. * They broke our dresser, did not assemble our furniture as they promised. However, we were glad to receive all our stuff back from them. It ended up being one of the worst business dealings for us. I would advise to stay away from Town & Country Moving Company, no matter how good the deal seems to be.

Find some other service, they are either overwhelmed or incompetent.
