I was not a happy camper when I showed up at Struble Orthodontics. My feelings about getting braces when I was easily 4 or 5 times the average age of the other patients was evident in my "Before" photos. 18 months later, my feelings about being freed from those braces were-equally evident in my "After" photos. Braces are inconvenient for everyone. However, I am certain that braces are especially trying when you are an adult. At no time was wearing those braces pleasant. There were times when wearing them felt like the most-painful and psychologically-difficult of any of my life's experiences. Despite that, I do not regret having put myself in Dr. Struble's hands. My dentist recommended Dr. Struble on the basis of her 'finishing' work -- the final subtle adjustments to the teeth before they are considered done. That recommendation turned out to be true in my case. I was very pleased with the final results, as was my own dentist. I would recommend Dr. Struble for adults seeking braces. You might not enjoy the process, but you will be in good hands.

Cleft palate patients have a specialized team of doctors from general dentistry, audiology, speech pathology, otolaryngology, to a specialized orthodontist. I knew Bend wasn't going to be the large metropolitan area I was used to, so I was a little apprehensive with what kind of long-term treatment plan Dr. Rosenzweig could provide. I was told he would be in braces from 7 years old until 18 to 19 years of age. He would need additional bone grafts as he grew to prepare for dental implants for missing teeth and bone. Needless to say, my fears were elevated, as Dr.Brian is very skilled in managing specialized orthodontia cases. I would have periodic meetings with Dr. Brian to discuss what the next steps would be to achieve the overall best outcome for my son, including two jaw surgeries towards the end of his 8 years as a patient. I couldn't be any happier with the care and treatment that my son received, including the whole staff! In fact, this was considered and covered under medical insurance in my home state. I initially battled with my insurance company here in Bend to get the right codes for it to be covered, until receiving the much-needed help from Heidi!! My son's teeth look great, and his confidence even improved. I am very grateful for the excellent care my son received!! Over these 3 years I had mentioned this first encounter with braces to many dentists and even oral surgeons all of which had nothing but negative things to say and some of which even had their own similar experiences with them specifically. They all warn of the orthodontists at bluefish and I do as well NOT THE PLACE FOR BRACES JUST ASK AROUND. They are the bottom of the barrel and extremely disrespectful. My daughter is currently a patient there and has had her braces on now for almost a year. She has been very happy with Dr. Panchura and her staff. Although braces can be pretty uncomfortable at times, my daughter has been very happy with the results. As a parent, what is very cool is that they allow parents and patients to do volunteer work in the community and use the time worked towards the ortho bill. You are allowed to use hours worth 50% of the cost of services. Each hour of volunteer work equals $10 towards your bill. For example, if the visit costs $100 you can use 5 volunteer hours and pay $50 to meet the obligation of $100. My hesitations on five stars is that while they try to be accommodating, they are only in the office a few select days a month. They also have an office in Redmond with limited hours and Bend patients are welcome there as well. Also, only the doctor is able to talk about projected treatment which means that you have to talk to her while you child is at an appointment. I was trying to figure out how many volunteer hours I would need going forward, just an estimate and the staff was unable to give me that information. So, just a couple of small inconveniences.

I am so glad I chose to get my braces with Dr. Panchura and my teeth are already so straight after only 4 months (they weren't too crooked to begin with and just shifted after my wisdom teeth came in).
