My grandmother's washing machine broke down not long ago. She's a widow in her mid 80's and things like this can be really stressful for her to manage. She went to a few big box stores and told me she felt like they were forcing products on her and revealed "additional" cost late in the conversation - This made her uncomfortable. I even went to a few stores with her and she had a hard time feeling comfortable with such a big purchase. After the big box stores she went to Advantage. She felt comfortable. She told me she felt like the staff was more transparent, upfront, but also spoke about the products in a way that she understood. They delivered the washing machine a few days later. During the delivery one of the crew saw that she had an old metal bench and picnic table piled up in the backyard, clearly no longer serviceable. He asked her what she was doing with them. She explained that she had been looking for a way to dispose of them for a while but they were too large for the weekly garbage pick-up. He then kindly took care of it for her (I assume he scrapped it) making her life a lot easier by helping her strike a to-do item off her list. I really appreciate the kind and professional service they gave my grandmother. It's impossible for me to be around helping her all the time so it's nice to know there are good and honest businesses out there giving her quality service. read more

Purchased a top loading Amana washer.After a year it would not stop draining. Called Advantage and they sent out a "Tech" who informed us the "Board" was recalled by Amana and would be replaced. However, we got a quote that the repair would be close to the cost we paid for the machine. When asked why the quote was so high since the "Board" was free. Given an answer about the cost of a new lid lock broken by us to get the clothes out when the machine was in drain mode. I said forget it and bought a new machine from LAMBCO in Attleboro. If AA knew the "Board" was bad they should have called us and come out to replace it. Would never use them ever again. read more

Whirlpool contacted them for a service repair for a coin-op washer which was delivered with the washer drum rim broken and needed to be replaced. They scheduled the repair for today between 12 and 5pm. I have been waiting since 12 and the repair guy called me at 4:55 to let me know that he is on his way and basically said that he is in the city. It now almost 5:30 and he is a no show. After what I just experienced, the last place I will ever buy an appliance again is advantage appliance in downtown Mansfield. I used to buy all my appliances there, even though their prices were higher, because of their service. I just contacted them because my dishwasher (that I purchased from them) would not turn on. They sent out a repairman, who reached under my sink and found there was a plug with a gfi button that had tripped. He pushed it, and it was fixed. They charged me $100 for the call and another $100 for the repair. You're better off just finding whatever store sells you what you want for the cheapest price. read more

My refrigerator suddenly went on the fritz, and I needed a new one fast. I chose to bring my business to a local dealer rather than go to a big box store - and got screwed. The day after the new refrigerator was delivered, I complained that it was very loud and asked for help. NO ADVANTAGE to going with "Advantage Appliance." They left me out to dry; no help; no assistance. Only AFTER I made the purchase did they disclose "Everyone complains about how loud new refrigerators are..." They told me to speak with the GE customer service, which delivered nothing. They actually told me they would speak to the local GE rep, which did nothing. They refused to give me contact info so I could speak directly with the GE rep. NO SATISFACTION: ZERO. You might as well go to Home Depot or Lowe's. read more

Since they seem to have somehow had my wife's negative comment removed from earlier today, all I will say is stay away. I won't get into details but this company simply does not take responsibility for anything and all they do is point fingers at anybody they can to get themselves off the hook. We bought our washer and dryer from this place - ironically we were convinced by the sales guy Paull that we should buy GE because its American Made and the availability of parts (in case something happens) is superior to foreign brands. 6 years later we were hearing a squeaking noise when we ran the dryer. No big deal but we wanted to be proactive and get it looked at before something catastrophic happened. So we called Advantage Appliance. The service tech said that it was an easy fix - an idler pulley and we should replace it. Cool. The parts came in and they sent someone out to replace it. Tech 2 came out a week later - 1 hour later the tech came to me and said he had the wrong parts and would have to come back. OK - as long as the dryer still works, we'll wait for the right parts. NOPE! The tech Alec/Alex in his valiant efforts to replace a squeaky wheel FRIED the control board rendering the dry USELESS. Even the "owner of the service company" Dave came out that night to try and fix it. Let me tell you...Dave seemed pissed that he was there on a Saturday night and his attitude reflected that. Long Story Short... The control board is on backorder and they have no estimate on when this part will be available. I've called and called and they have no other solution other than just to wash our clothes and hang dry them - no loaner dryer - no replacement - so now I have laundry piling up. I can find this part available online but they refuse to get it from anyone else. My last call with this company the person on the phone tried to defend them and said its not their fault that these things happen. Like "if you went to a car dealership for an oil change and they tell you you need new brakes." NO! It's like I went to a car dealership for an oil change and the mechanic stuck an ice pick in all my tires and told me I need new tires. Till waiting.... read more

I would NOT recommend Advantage Appliance in Mansfield, MA. We spent around $7,000 in appliances, and received a defected dishwasher (leaked through my basement, and siding). NO sympathy from Advantage Appliance. Both technicians, and 'manager' Mark Saucier blamed my plumber. Not one technician noted the defect. No one could detect the issue besides my plumber. I wasn't aware my plumber had to fully inspect the new appliance by taking off the insulation. Managers Mark Saucier and Brandon Cordeiro do NOT respond to emails, and if they do it's extremely unprofessional. To save anyone the hassle, I highly recommend going to S&W in East Providence. Run. This place used to be great. Took over a week to get a part, was supposed to get a call by 9AM today to a slot for the repair. Started calling at 9:15 and kept going to a "general" mailbox. finally got to someone at 9:45 who had a huge attitude that told me too bad because they were busy and first said the tech left a message on time slot and when I pulled the comcast call log and told him that didn't happen he changed his toon and said that I didn't hear because I was on on the phone. BUT, I have caller waiting! Find someplace else unless you don't care about customer service! Vulgar = saying bullshit when told the tech left messages, which Comcast phone logs show no such call. Couldn't have been happier with the service! We were tired of dealing with large box stores and am so happy we went to Advantage Appliance. John helped us pick out the 4pc kitchen suite and models that would work best for us. At no point did we feel pressured to buy or spend more money than we wanted. We actually requested upgrades on our own because John explained features and options so well. The delivery crew came and completely unpacked and set up our fridge and were very quick and careful not to damage anything. The worst customer service! They do not like to communicate with the customer! They don't have accurate information and frankly very rude on the phone. When the installation service man was way off schedule, which i understand that happens but a phone call would be appreciated. The woman in the office was rude to me when requesting an update. The office staff always seem clueless when you ask a simple question. They say they'll call back, no call. Days go by. When you call them, they put you on hold numerous times only to finally request the store. The manager has no good answer regarding estimate quote, parts or status of repair! I always like to purchase and use local businesses. The sales person seems good while purchasing an appliance but after tbat its down hill. Stay away from this place!!! Hired them for the repair of my dishwasher and instead of fixing the problem I ended up with a leaky dishwasher. Worst part, they wouldn't agree that the leak was because of the repair. After multiple calls they send the technician who confirmed that the leak was because of the motor they replaced. Three months of back and forth and my problem is worse than where it started. We are rehabbing our kitchen and with Johns help picked out appliances a few months prior to them being delivered. John gave us the initial expected price, which we were happy with and paid. But prior to delivery John inputted the appliance cost in around some holiday sales and manufacturers discounts and ended up saving us over $700! We were one of the unfortunates who purchased an exploding Samsung Washing Machine. After lengthy attempts to get problem resolved through Samsung and the people we purchased the appliance through (Unfortunately not ADVANTAGE), with no success, we decided to take Samsung's offer and pay the extra money and purchase a replacement. Due to the poor service from the place we purchased, my wife decided to call Advantage. They sais they could take care of the problem. Within an hour we received a call back, and had an appointment to fix the appliance. Something Samsung, nor New England Appliance (Stay far away) could do. If we got this great service without even purchasing from them. Imagine what we would have gotten if we had. They now have a customer in us, whenever we need our next appliance. We called to have our refrigerator repaired 4+ weeks ago. They came quickly to take a look at it. They said they would charge us for the part ($400) but they charged us for the entire repair ($1200) a week before the services were rendered ....didn't even have a date scheduled for the repair. So 10 days later they come to replace the faulty part (condenser coil) but then say we need a compressor and will have to wait until it arrives. Another week goes by and they replace the compressor with a compressor that has been sitting in a warehouse for 10 years, was visibly damaged and makes a loud, intolerable wine when the refrigerator is running. It took multiple messages to have them return our call. When we explained the problem they told us we would have to wait until a new compressor arrived. Another week goes by ...they call and arrange an appointment. Then repair person comes and looks at it and doesn't replace compressor. He said he was just coming to 'check it out'. Please note we've been waiting nearly a month for properly functioning refrigerator to have him 'check it out'. We call AGAIN and they tell us the compressor was on the truck...really no explanation of why he didn't replace it. Only response is ...we will get back to you. Keep in mind it's been weeks. Do not buy or use them for repairs. They are not ethical!!!! read more

We bought a dishwasher from advantage just about two years ago along with the 5 year warranty. Just shy of two years the top rack fell apart so we called to have it fixed. We are now on the third week of when we initially called. I asked if they could come after 4 as my wife and I work full time and they flat out said no. I explained we live roughly a mile from their store and was it possible to end with us as either way it will be about 30 minutes of time for the service. They refused to accommodate us. So now I am taking a day off to accommodate them. I would recommend sears anyway over this place. Should be called disadvantage appliance. Recently purchased a Wolf gas range, and a Bosch dishwasher within several weeks of each other, and found Advantage Appliance to be the best out there for retailers. Their selection is superb, their showroom is well-thought out, and the salespeople are knowledgeable, accommodating, and patient with my endless questions. They are very aware of current rebates, offered by both the manufacturers, as well as my local water & electric companies. All the documentation was supplied to me, including copies of the Energy Star placard that they knew my Electric Co. would require. They even knew, based on the part of town I lived in, whether I had hard water or not, so that I would know whether I would require water softener (I did not). Installation was quick and affordable, and the financing options offered were very convenient (2years, no interest, through a national financing co.). I always thought Home Depot or Lowes would have better prices, but I found that those big box stores did not even carry the higher end models that I was interested in... read more

I purchased appliances from Advantage Appliance and had a problem (within 3 months of purchasing) with one of the appliances. When calling for service Advantage does NOT make me feel like a valued customer in anyway at all, rather the opposite like they could care less and that I need to accommodate them. I had to pull teeth to get information and call on the status of my issue to make sure they followed through. It's too bad their post-purchase customer service is so bad because if they were more customer oriented I would have definitely purchased more appliances from them, even if they cost a bit more, because in the end most consumers want their legitimate issues resolved without having to fight and battle - remember I am talking about a brand new appliance that is malfunctioning, not an old appliance...but that's not the case with Advantage, you have to push and force them to serve you the customer! I am now in the market to buy more appliances and because of the very poor service I received, Advantage isn't even an option, their loss but I feel like that doesn't matter to them, they must not need my business. Look at the response from Advantage to the review from "Anonymous U", to me it speaks volumes on Advantage's attitude toward a customer, no apology or compassion that the customer feels bad, but rather, the customer is the problem - they don't see the importance of consumer relations. This place is so unprofessional. First off they don't call you until the morning of the repair to give you a two hour window of the time that they'll be coming. To make it even better they never called and when I called to ask why they had never called they said that my appointment wasn't till the following week ... so that is two weeks later. They could not come out to make a small repair on an appliance any sooner. They even had the nerve to say that I was wrong. If I could leave zero stars I would. We bought a very expensive refrigerator. We came home to extensive property damage, a ripped out tree, vadalized lawn, trash in our driveway and a dented refrigerator. AA's response is to say "they have never had an issue with their delivery service before"....yet I am directed to the owner Tony. Tony won't give his last name, his insurance company, his drivers name or an email. To think a family owned company sent a delivery company that did such extensive damage to our home...and all we get is "it's the delivery people." I am horrified. This is the absolute worst experience ever, our calls to AA are met with an employee who laughed, a person who just keeps saying "did the deliveryperson call you?" We bought from Advantge Appliance and now sit with our damaged property and dented product and they do nothing but tell us to call the delivery people. Horrifying. I would avoid calling Advantage for service. I had them fix my Frigidaire washer because they were recommended by the mfg. They have limited availability. ...it took about 4 wks from diagnosis to repair. A few months later the machine has the same problem. I called to have them take another look and they refuse to come out without charging an additional diagnosis fee. read more

We bought a dishwasher last year (not from Advantage) and after breaking 5 times, finally got the manufacturer to replace it. Advantage was hired by the manufacturer to deliver and install the appliance, but it's very difficult to get an appointment with them. I had to wait a week to get on the list and when bad weather made them cancel the appointment, I have to wait another 5 days for a new one! They also won't even give you an appointment window until the morning of your appointment. That's extremely frustrating that I'm expected to just wait around all day when other companies and service providers will at least give you a 3-4 hour window. I would not pick this company on my own - the service better be top notch to make up for my poor experience thus far. read more

Awful! Poor customer service, long wait times for repair, and just plain rude. I called to have my freezer repaired and they told me it would take more than a week to schedule the service. I asked if they could come after 3pm, which is when I would get home from work. They said that shouldn't be a problem. The day of the service arrived and I got a call at 8am at work saying they would be at my house between 10-12. I explained that I was told it would be after 3pm and he said he wouldn't be able to do it, but the "other guy" might be able to. He would check and call me back. By 2pm I still hadn't heard back from him. I called the cell phone number that had called me that morning and nobody answered. I called the store and she said my service would have to be rescheduled for another day and that she could not give me an afternoon appointment. She offered a Sunday appointment, but would not give a time frame. The repairman would call me that day to let me know when he would be there. Not even a morning of afternoon window was offered. I am not going to sit in my house all day on my day off to wait. I'm calling Sears. read more

I bought a new oven for my dad through Advantage Appliance at the recommendation of my contractor......I like the idea of "buying local" and pricing was similar to Lowe's, Home Depot, Sears, etc. I was told delivery should be between 7-11 days so figured that would be fine as considered "special order". Ten days later, I called to check on delivery as had not heard a word. Now it's going to be an additional 2 1/2 weeks, give or take. Really? I already had paid my contractor to put oven in for me next week so asked Advantage if they would pick up install cost now as way past original date I was given. and my contractor can't come back as starting a big job....Phil, the manager told me "no, we can't do that". I don't think I will ever buy an appliance anywhere else again. My husband and I went to Advantage Appliance after casually looking in a few larger box stores, and mainly went to see if they had the models on the floor that we were interested in so that we could see them in person. We were approached by a sales associate Bob who was able to make suggestions on appliances based on what we told him we were looking for, and was very knowledgeable about the difference between certain models and brands. We actually ended up settling on slightly different appliances than what we anticipated purchasing, and their prices were the same or less than the box stores (I believe they will match prices anyway). However, Bob's superior customer service and the flexibility of the store owner is what have impressed me the most. My husband and have been doing a couple significant renovations in our home, including a full kitchen remodel. As with most renovations, nothing ever goes according to plan and we are dealing with SIGNIFICANT delays due to bad contractor that we hired to refinish and install hardwood floors in our entire home, that we have needed to hire a replacement for. So needless to say, we have had to delay delivery of all of our kitchen appliances SEVERAL time. Bob has been extremely timely with every email I have sent him (and there have been lots!), even responding on Saturday evenings at midnight when I am sure he is likely not getting paid. He not only answered many questions I had about the various rebates being offered with each appliance, but went as far as grabbing the serial number off of our dishwasher being stored at their store so that we didn't miss the rebate submission window. We would have never received this level of service from any big box store, and Bob and Advantage Appliance have done everything they can to eliminate any stress on the appliance side of things during what's been an extremely stressful home renovation process. read more
