All three of the doctors (Dr. Mitchell , Dr. Johnston, and Dr. Hanson) have demonstrated the kind of professionalism, experience, courtesy/respect, compassion, and willingness to listen/answer any questions/concerns that I may have had. The staff at Eyecare Associates can be described as nothing less than exemplary as well. I only wish that I knew, or was able to remember all of their names. Well my week turned bad. Tuesday my glasses broke in half. This is what I deserve waiting too long…read moreto get new ones and I am due for a exam. I couldn't find anyone to examine me on short notice and buy glasses but I eventually found Eyemart Express. Previously used them in 2007 and received excellent service from the optometrist and nice (but expensive) cheap plastic glasses. I went elsewhere since then because Eyemart does not have the newest equipment that utilizes a high speed camera. Therefore each time I visit Eyemart Express they have to dilute my eyes which is an inconvenience and causes me to delay or call off work because it takes half a day for my eyes to return to normal. I was able to get in Thursday morning and the optometrist is still very professional and friendly. Unfortunately diluted my eyes again but it was quick and easy exam. Once done I went to the service area to pick the cheapest ones available since my insurance covers very little. The gentleman at first seemed to be steering me towards expensive glasses because of fit, I explained my situation and he took a look at options and was able to get me two glasses with polycarbonate lenses. One standard and one sunglasses with polarized and anti glare lenses. He gave me the price with insurance and without and it was obvious the glasses are cheaper without insurance. I went that route and had the pair within two hours to be able to go back to work same day. Very happy and satisfied experience. I may go back and get another pair with anti glare for night driving because newer cars and new bulbs for headlights are designed to be much brighter and cause more glare especially when people are driving with high beams on more without respect to the drivers coming from the other direction. Overall satisfied experience with Eyemart Express and I recommend them.

She got up very rude, rolled her eyes and went to change HER options. Not ours, her commission options. No special prescription very basic. Never once was I told I was paying for a warranty which is $30 extra. I only noticed when I got home. I'm disgusted by the service. The employee was like a used car salesman. I was shown the photographic images of my eyes as he explained what we were seeing. I have some issues with my retinas that he was able to show me where, and what was happening with them. He was reassuring to me as I had concerns from a prior diagnosis done at a large local eye center where I felt "herded" through and dismissed. This office is so kind, personal and caring. I brought them in to see if they could straighten them for her so I could take them to her at the hospital. I was worried if I tried I might break the frame because they are so thin. Raylee was working and she explained that she would try but if they broke I would need to order a new frame. I was so worried because my Mom can only see out of one eye now and Visionworks had put a special lens in these glasses because she's color blind in the good eye. She needs them to see at all. Raylee took her time and was able to straighten them and she also put new nose pads on them. When she gave the repaired glasses back to me in a new case I started to cry. She stepped out from behind the counter and gave me a hug. Thank you for caring...you have no idea how much I needed something to go right and you made sure that happened!

Because there are two Yelp listings for the same practice, I want to begin by pointing out that…read morethis is the same as Dr. Kenneth Loftus' practice. I want to add a full-throated endorsement of Dr. Loftus' abilities and professional manner. I have a long history of being disappointed at the optometrist's because I have a difficult prescription. Even if they get it right, the lenses often come back with issues that make them unusable. This has become especially problematic in the past 15 or so years, with all the new new materials they use to slim down lens thicknesses. I had several visits with Dr. Loftus, both for a new eyeglass prescription and for new contacts. I just received my eyeglasses yesterday and they're PERFECT. It's been a long time since I got good lenses on the first go and I am really enjoying them. Additionally, I'd like to mention that the office staff are competent, efficient and friendly. I opted to bring in my old Dunhill frames for my new lenses. This was not a problem either! The lens makers did a good job - they're not metal frames and could have easily cracked as they're over 30 years old - well... they're just fine too and I am wearing them now. Just like old times. Now I get to look just like I did in the 80s! Well, not really, but I can't blame Dr. Loftus for that. See Dr. Loftus and you will see better!

This is not the place to go if you want routine eye exams; it's where you go when your regular ophthalmologist or optometrist says "hmm, you should have this looked at". Billing has been off at times, with respect to getting treatments pre approved by insurance. That's the only reason for four instead of five stars.

The billing department was dishonest and misleading about billing during scheduling of my appointment, arriving for my appointment and leaving after my appointment--I asked numerous times and they were deceptive. Prior to the appointment, I told the billing department my insurance would not pay for an eye exam, as I know my insurance well, and they assured me the insurance would pay for the exam but not the refraction. Two weeks after the appointment, I received a bill for the entire service. The Siskiyou Eye Center is a perfect example of what is wrong with healthcare--you are a $$$ to them. Avoid this place, especially with so many other great choices in the Rogue Valley, like Artisan Eyeworks in Ashland or Medical Eye Center in Medford--they are professional and honest about services and billing.
