All three of the doctors (Dr. Mitchell , Dr. Johnston, and Dr. Hanson) have demonstrated the kind of professionalism, experience, courtesy/respect, compassion, and willingness to listen/answer any questions/concerns that I may have had. The staff at Eyecare Associates can be described as nothing less than exemplary as well. I only wish that I knew, or was able to remember all of their names. Special "Thank You" to : ~Tiffani in Optical for being so personable, helpful and patient with me while helping select glasses and frames. ~Teri (I hope that I got the spelling correct) for her persistence in returning my phone call regarding my insurance. ~ The ladies at the front desk and the other staff members for their help during my visit. So, we sat in their waiting area for one hour and thirty minutes anticipating getting the NEW LENSES and frames. To find out... OOOOPS, nobody ordered the NEW LENSES. Three to four weeks without glasses, and now we have to wait longer due to some idiot not doing their job right the first time. So I am sending Eyecare Associates of Southern Oregon TWO GIANT SIZED MIDDLE FINGERS. Here are the scratched lenses that were supposed to be replaced. This place is beyond pathetic

Today I had the most extensive and thorough exam I've ever had! Dr. Brown takes his time during the exam to make sure you are comfortable, not rushed and that you understand exactly what is going on. I was shown the photographic images of my eyes as he explained what we were seeing. I have some issues with my retinas that he was able to show me where, and what was happening with them. He was reassuring to me as I had concerns from a prior diagnosis done at a large local eye center where I felt "herded" through and dismissed. This office is so kind, personal and caring. I wish I'd found them years ago! I highly recommend them!!!

The doctors are great--I have absolutely no complaints about them…read more My issue is with the billing department and front office staff. I was effectively dismissed from the practice because of a $45 copay that went unpaid for more than 90 days. When I called to schedule an appointment with my eye doctor, the front desk told me that my account had been sent to collections and that they could not--or would not--schedule me. I was told I was no longer allowed to be seen by the practice. For context, I had been a cash-pay patient for more than 10 years because I did not have health insurance. During that time, I paid thousands of dollars out of pocket for treatment of uveitis, an ongoing eye condition that is causing vision loss in my right eye. When I finally obtained insurance and used it for the first time, no one informed me that I had a $45 copay. The bill went unpaid for over 90 days, and apparently that was enough to have me sent to collections and dismissed as a patient. I contacted the billing department to resolve the issue. They could not tell me which collection agency had the debt, and they would not accept my $45 payment directly. Frustrated, I left $45 cash at the front desk and left. Two months later, while still experiencing a significant flare-up of my condition, I called again to schedule an appointment. I was told I still owed money, that my account had been sent to collections, and that I had been dismissed from the practice. There was no record of the $45 cash payment I had left. I can't help but wonder whether my doctor is aware that a long-time patient with a serious eye condition was turned away over a delinquent $45 copay, that was paid.

The office informed us that the decision was made after my wife posted an honest review about her experience. I was never given the opportunity to be seen, and my appointment was canceled even though I had done nothing wrong. It was disappointing to have my care affected because a family member shared feedback about her own visit. Canceling an established patient's appointment under these circumstances was frustrating and forced me to start over with another provider, delaying my eye care. I believe patients should be able to leave honest reviews without worrying that they or their family members will lose access to care. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this practice. Patients deserve to be treated fairly, even when they express concerns or criticism.

Some have gone corporate, some don't have inventory/frame choices, some cater to women and not men only, some have horrible customer service and when you go in they make you feel like you are a burden to them. None of these things apply to Advanced: I have NEVER experienced such great care. Advanced wants to get it right for you and they will--that's their promise and they live up to it. Additionally, they are fun people to work with. I love their extremely broad choice of styles. I've also had some issues with my frames after I totally crushed them when they fell out of my bag, and they were able to fix them on the spot. They also are really great about living up to warranties and getting that sorted in a timely manner. I highly recommend these folks for a great small business in the Valley that gets it right on all levels!
