I have had sciatica since 2015 and even had to have lower back surgery (a microdiscectomy and laminectomy) to help with the pain in 2017. I came to Advanced Spinal Care for relief of my recurring hemifacial spasm I have had for 12 years, initially corrected with MVD surgery, and it sometimes comes back and it was surfacing once again quite strongly where I was no longer able to sleep a full nights sleep without it going off and starting to shut my eye and move my cheek and mouth, and also with signs of trigeminal compression and jaw pain and headaches. I have done quite a bit of research into nerve compression and the anatomy, when I searched for my neurosurgeon for the MVD surgery 12 years ago, I was looking for someone very familiar with this once rare diagnosis and how it might be decompressed with the atlas/cervical adjustments as my compression was in the brainstem. Thus, I wanted to try realignment of my atlas and cervical spine gently to take the compression off of the nerve, and avoid another surgery. I have tried a few NUCCA chiropractors, but found Dr. Tsiglieris approach to be wholistic in nature of the system of the body, with techniques beyond upper cervical that tie into the entire system. Having the ability to trace the nerve compression with the tension systems of the rest of the spine and fascia, he has been slowly unwinding years of patterns to decompress and chase to the roots of all the contributing factors involved. This has resulted in faster results that I could of anticipated. I have been coming for over a month and already, my spasm has been reduced greatly with Dr. Tsiglieris gentle thoughtful care in to how address my misalignment with gentle steps forward in order not to distress the facial nerve any further. I cannot recommend Dr. Tsiglieris enough for his wisdom and broad experience in understanding with empathy, the clients situation, mentally and physically and taking care to address both. With Hemifacial spasm, it also triggers my nervous system and I have panic attacks and breathing problems which create a vicious cycle of anxiety, it is very close or is PTSD from the spasm itself. I am so happy that I have met a practitioner who understands this response fully and is compassionate and patient. I am beyond excited and filled with gratitude that the spasm is slowly going away for my hemifacial and also the trigeminal jaw pain and headaches, and most importantly, I can avoid another brain surgery. This gives me hope for others to avoid unnecessary expensive risky surgeries and I will spread this far and wide in the hemifacial community as an experience of success as its worth a try before considering surgery. I've got to give credit where credit is due! And Dr. Pete is due some serious credit! After 4 months of seeing 6 different doctors and three different chiropractors, MRI's, X-Rays, CT Scans along with cocktails of medicines, ice 4/5 times a day including the inability to sleep more than 3/4 hours Dr. Pete after 1 adjustment was able to target the area where the pain was and give me some serious relief. After my second adjustment my pain and inflammation started to reduced dramatically. Dr. Pete is fantastic. I have had issues with my neck and shoulders for as long as I can remember and I have tried other chiropractors, physical therapists, massage, rolfing, acupuncture - the whole gamut. My neck and shoulders have always been so sore I'm always asking my fiance for massages - we both just thought my muscles would always be super tight. Dr. Pete put an end to my chronic lower-back pain! I have been suffering from back pain for many years (mainly caused by tight glutes) but was able to get by with icing, Ibuprofen, targeted stretches and some Feldenkrais and core exercises. But about four weeks ago I made a wrong move during a rock climbing session that left me with intense pain that did not respond to my usual routine. Three weeks later the pain still was so intense that I had trouble walking from the parking lot to my office in the morning. My brother-in-law (who also practices NUCCA in the east bay) suggested to see Dr. Tsiglieris (since I live in Menlo Park) - and boy am I happy he did! The first visit took about 2 1/2 hours and started with the (for NUCCA) typical routine of X-rays and assessment of leg length, hip alignment and balance. After the X-rays were done Dr. Tsiglieris reviewed them for a while and performed the adjustment (which only takes a few minutes). He checked my leg length and took another X-ray to verify the results. My follow-up appointment was three days later and the pain was about 95% reduced. The glutes were still a bit tight but it was clear to me that my body had started repairing itself (which is a central idea in NUCCA). 1 1/2 weeks after the initial appointment I am (for the first time in years) PAIN FREE, even my glutes are not sore anymore. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Pete Tsiglieris. It will be difficult not to get "too wordy"... I found Dr. Pete on the internet in 2010, after once AGAIN my neck pain was getting acute. I began having problems with my neck in 1985! After that, I had serious acute pain in my lower back and hips as well, starting in 2000. At the time I found Dr. Pete, I had previously visited at least 8 traditional chiropractors over the years. They offered some temporary relief at times, but never did I feel that I was getting the help I wanted. When I researched and read up on the NUCCA technique, I was intrigued and interested. As a personal trainer, I understood kinesiology. It made SENSE to me that if the head was not in the proper position above the first vertebra, then of COURSE everything underneath would be affected. Compensation would occur, causing a multitude of problems down the chain. I gave it a try! When I first met Dr. Pete, I was immediately comforted by his calm and caring nature. He examined me and thought he could help me. It was the best chiropractic choice I have ever made! I slowly started feeling better and better. I had a couple bad accidents in my early years, and many years of overuse injuries... so I would never expect miracles! But what I got was close to that. I am still going to Dr. Pete. He is now in Redwood City. I have had great results with sports related injuries. He allowed me to place 10th in the World's Toughest Mudder challenge because I was able to complete 45 miles in 24 hours without getting hurt. Over a decade ago my mother took me with her to see her Chiropractor. Reluctantly I came along expecting yet another bone cracker and generally had a very skeptic attidute. Then I met Dr Pete, a true doctor at heart. I ended up managing his office while going to community college. Not only did he take care my aweful posture, terrible head aches, tall girl syndrome slouching head down....I had had a riding accident years prior and every so often my hip would lock or just hurt like hell. ..it's all taken care of.
