The teeth cleaning I've received there are not as thorough as I've always had throughout my life, thankfully I take care of my teeth. 6/28/2024 I stopped in and made an appointment for 7/2/2024 GREAT! 7/1/2024 while I was in a Doctor's appointment I missed the dentist call. By the time I finished with x-rays it was beyond their office hours. The message was whispered and I could only make out Dentist and need reschedule. I called 9am 7/2/2024 and the same whispering receptionist is blaming me for rescheduling!!! Apparently since I didn't answer their call while with my Doctor and didn't confirm my appointment they canceled my appointment!! THAT IS CRAZY AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I just made the appointment, ofcourse I plan to be at my appointment! I could walk in and make an appointment in 5 days but now that the rude whispering receptionist who enjoyed canceling my appointment states I can't get rescheduled for 8 months!!! No appointments until 1/4/2025 atleast!!! THAT'S RIDICULOUS!!! When I made appointment this confirming appointment the day before was not mentioned at all or I would have called before my Doctor's appointment! This is so rude and UNPROFESSIONAL!!! For mediocre care Sussex Family Dental is not worth your time and dental care. I'd rather brush my teeth with antifreeze and have a Redneck pull my teeth with a monkey wrench than ever go back to Sussex Family Dental!!!

Furthermore, I was deeply unsettled to find that the Office Manager brings her dog into a clinical dental setting. As someone there for a medical cleaning, I found the presence of an animal in a healthcare facility to be both unprofessional and unhygienic. As a white woman of German descent married to an African American woman, I have listened to my wife's accounts of "Sundown towns." My experience at your office recently mirrored those stories--a space that feels curated for one demographic while making others feel unwelcome or invisible. I am ashamed to have patronized an establishment that feels like a "Sundown office" for as long as I have. We will be transferring our records to a practice that prioritizes both clinical hygiene and modern, inclusive values.and DIVERSITY!

The second was more than double of the first one and it was presented to us after the molds and x-rays were already done. Since our insurance benefits did not change we were questioning the $2k price increase. They were not willing to discuss it, return calls nor admit they made mistake. It took numerous request (calls and emails) to receive the molds and x-rays we already paid for so we could switch providers. If you like to be treated fairly and with respect do not go to Deerwood Orthodontics!
