The hygienist was extremely condescending and unfortunately this turned my nose up to this office. The doctor would not discuss pricing with me, even though I requested this two weeks prior (so I could budget for my wisdom tooth extraction), he told me to go online and look it up myself and they would just bill me. I thought this was laughable considering others HAVE to want to know pricing before just mindlessly scheduling. This was a top recommendation for me on my insurance website and I will be reviewing this office on their website to let others know not to have their hopes too high. Waste of time! Edit: At the end of the appointment the dentist came in and just looked at my teeth, poked around, and was ready to send me on my way. When I told him I was here for a wisdom tooth extraction consult--he pulled a general little spiel out of his ass about nerves and sinuses. Then of course I expressed my concern that this was literally a cleaning and hardy any mention of my wisdom teeth. He touched my shoulder and told me TO CALM DOWN! You have to be kidding me. Believe me when I tell you that I was no where near as upset as I should have been. I respected his office by continuing a calm persona... DO NOT GO HERE

I have met with a few dentists over the years only to flee their office before I could even be fully examined. I have huge issues with laying down in vulnerable positions or being touched by strangers. My teeth were in very poor shape by the time I finally steeled myself to try once more at Jackson Family Dentistry. The staff was so kind, understanding, and gentle. They did everything to put me at ease for my exam. Dr Kowalski was the first Dentist I have felt comfortable with in 20 years! He managed my ptsd with respect and compassion, and removed my wisdom teeth so gently and quickly. I had almost no pain in the recovery. His kindness, professionalism, and skilled, gentle hands provided me with the assurance and trust I needed to go back in for the major dental work, including 4 crowns and a root canal. These were separated into 3 almost 3 hour appointments. Because of Dr Kowalski and his incredible bedside manner and tremendous skill, I have been able to receive the dental care I have needed for TWENTY years. Let me make clear, I do not have dental phobia. I have severe PTSD which was making it impossible to lay down in a dental chair. This man went above and beyond to create a space of trust and security so I could get through my treatments. I NEVER in my life thought that could be possible. His work is flawless, my crowns look amazing, and he did it all without putting me through any more trauma. I do not have dental insurance and his team offers a significant discount when paying out of pocket! If you are a soldier or anyone suffering from PTSD, I highly recommend Dr. Kowalski. He has been the first dentist to gain my trust and I would be walking around with very unhealthy teeth without him. This man is truly a blessing and has the skill to take care of you without excessive pain or complications after surgery. I was shocked how little pain I was in in the days following each procedure. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Doctor. I cannot stress enough how brave this man was to take meon as a patient.....I went from shaking, teary, ready to swing on anyone who touched me, to a calm, let's do this patient in less than 4 visits. Thank you Doctor Kowalski and your amazing team. I could never have done it without you. You do amazing work, and your disposition and integrity have earned my respect and more than that, my trust. I am writing this for anyone seeking a dentist with extreme phobia or PTSD. Truly, Dr. Kowalski is at the top of his game!

Going to get dental work done (from regular check ups to extractions) was never scary. She has movies for you to watch or music to listen to while the exam is going on. But if you don't want to use those resources, she is a delight to chat with. She is unendingly kind and does all work very gently. Which brings me to my next point: She does every single exam herself. I wasn't aware until I was an adult that most dentists have their assistants do all the work, only coming in to check over the results at the end. How great is that? I remember that at some point, my grandmother went in to see Dr. Sachs for a root canal. Naturally, she was worried. But she came through it and said, "I never knew a root canal could be a somewhat pleasant experience." I'm sure that's exaggerated somewhat, but I can think of no better testimonial.
