My last review of Modern Touch was 10 years ago, and I've been a client for about 15 years. I've seen a multitude of dentists at the office over the years as staff has changed, and the work has consistently been really well done. Cheryl, my hygienist, and Dr. McDonald and Ashley have been the most amazing team over the last year, in particular as I cracked two teeth as a result of extreme stress. They guided me through a very painful process and made sure my mouth feels and looks perfect at the conclusion of the work. The work performed is of high quality (as are the labs that they use - for crowns, implants, mouth guards). They have stayed on top of technology so imaging is easy, painless and comprehensive, including 3D digital models. They show the utmost care to their patients before, during and after procedures. The staff is friendly but still professional. The work above all else is thorough and exceedingly well executed. My husband has also had good experiences over the years (although he has needed less dental work, thankfully!) but as a family, we are beyond pleased. I couldn't recommend this dentist more highly. There are some cases when work is authorized by insurance at a certain expected amount, but the actual charges are different. I have never had an issue with this, as it's clearly explainable (the procedure had to go a different way, or the insurance covered something at a higher percent). The clinic "banks" any overpayment for us, and we use it for any charges we might accrue going forward. They have offered to reimburse us as well, but with a family that goes to the same dental clinic, keeping the overpayment there simplifies things for my purposes and I appreciate that they are willing to do that. Modern touch on 7020 N. Port Washington. My family member had begun his top teeth implants last November and hasn't received his permanents set and it 12/05/23. There have been numerous complications, and the charged keep piling up. It's has been life altering for my family member, it has affected his body image. If it was explained to him that it would take a year or more to make adjustments and etc. He said he would have got dentures instead. which would have been less costly. Too embarrassed to tell the exact monies he has spent; I'll just say he could have purchased a new car or truck. If you considering this agency, please make another informed choice. read more

I had service twice. They gave me an estimate for $1000 for a crown and anesthetic. I paid as I walked out of the clinic. I now recieved a bill for $1200. When I called they said that what I pasid was just an estimate and the real bill was double what they charged! I also got a "cleaning" that was over $400. I had a cleaning from a different dentist 1 year prior and it was $125. This place overcharges like crazy. They are under new management and not the friendly place they used to be! When a scheduling issue came up and I needed to change my appointment, it was done with ease in a minute. Friends asked why I even considered moving it to the morning of my birthday. I responded, "What could be better!" I was greeted immediately upon arrival, paused to renew my plan for a year of cleanings and X-rays, and was taken to the hygienist. It seemed like minutes later when I walked out the door, having seen the dentist, too. Prompt, professional, pain-free! Perfect! (Those who follow my reviews know that I rarely gush. After receiving horrible customer service from their office manager, I switched to a new dentist over 2 years ago. Now, I'm suddenly receiving a bill for $5 from them. Petty people with no empathy for their patients. Very disappointed as they were out of my dental network, but I still paid a lot out of pocket, and always on time. Very disrespectful. read more

Had veneers done and was kind of satisfied with them. This was not a cosmetic but needed repair. All good but the turn over in that practice is unbelievable. Had to have a filling. "Dr" Milo was a complete ass. Five years later the thing is still an issue. A FILLING! read more

I no longer have anxiety over going to the dentist. Easily the most professional, skilled and comfortable dentist I have ever been to. They use all the latest technologies, and even let you listen to an iPod while you're in the chair. Dr. Wegner is personable and very good at what he does. This office runs like a well-oiled machine. Is it more expensive than other places? Probably about 10% more, but it is worth every penny. The best part is that they handle all the insurance work, so you don't end up getting a strange bill from them or your insurance company 6 weeks later. I recommend Modern Touch to anybody. read more

:) I used yelp to find a dentist in my area. I chose this dentist simply because I could walk here from my house. Boy! am i glad I did it this way! I had an amazing experience here. My dentist technician lady was fabulous. She told me what she was doing whens he was doing it , she kept making sure i was comfortable, she made me laugh and smile. We had a pleasant conversation before and after the cleaning. and yes she gave me a brilliant white smile and happy happy teeth. I set up my next cleaning here immediately that day. the dentist refused to allow me to sit with my partner. despite me asking repeatedly and explaining she was very scared he refused. this is not kind at all. having a support person is key to a comfortable dental visit sometimes and secluding someone is not ok. this policy needs to change or we will find another location to use. read more

Can't even explain how unsatisfied I am with their dental services. Had some cavities filled by these guys, and as soon as the anesthetic went away, I could tell something wasn't right. So I ate, and wow here comes the pain. Worse than before I got it filled. So I went back( WEEK LATER) to get it readjusted. They said ok, the bite was a little off you should be good now. About 2 hours later, I felt the pain again in the same area. COME ON REALLY?So for the 3rd time I'm there again. I could understand if this was my first time at a dentist, but never in my life have I had to go get a cavity adjusted 3 times. They had absolutely nothing to say about the fact that I was there for the third time. Don't let the "Beverly Hills" feel of the office fool you. These guys don't know what they're doing. read more

I had one bad experience with Modern Touch Dental, but decided to give them another try. My second experience was even worse. Read below for details. I will never go back and do not recommend them. First experience: I was a new patient and had a pleasant and fairly regular teeth cleaning by a friendly hygienist, but Dr. Wegner did not examine me. This was a first to not see the dentist and I did not get a clear answer as to why not. I was, of course, charged for a full check-up. The worst part happened a few weeks later when my sister-in-law (who lives in CA) received an email addressed to me with my information sent to her email account from Modern Touch. Come to find out, Modern Touch outsources its marketing and somehow my sister-in-law's personal email was used despite her having nothing to do with this practice. It was weird and a clear violation of privacy. Second experience: I had a check-up six months later and decided to give them another chance since they assured me the email issue was the marketing firm's mistake, not theirs. I happened to be nearly eight months pregnant at this appointment. Dr. Wegner said I had four cavities that needed immediate attention. I've never had a cavity, but was told that pregnant women often get cavities. This diagnosis came without any X-rays. I was pressured to have this taken care of ASAP, so I contacted my doctor who said she would prefer if I waited until after the baby, but if it is serious to trust the dentist. Having a funny feeling, I went elsewhere for a second opinion. I do not have any cavities or any other problems noted by Dr. Wegner. My experiences suggest a highly unethical practice. To give away personal information to third party firms is one thing, but to lie to and recommend unnecessary procedures to a pregnant woman is truly inexcusable. read more

I've had some tough experiences in my lifetime with dentists but these folks are the absolute best. Always friendly & accommodating.

I have been a patient of Modern Touch for several years now. I am happy to drive across town from the south side (near Oak Creek) for my dental appointments because of their exceptional service. The first thing that strikes you upon entering MT is that it doesn't "feel" like a dentist office. It feels more like a spa because of the open space layout that offers individual patient privacy without feeling claustrophobic. They have the most skilled yet gentle dental hygienists in the field. I like that they use cutting edge dental medicine technology for diagnosing and treating all dental situations. The dentists on staff are exceptional as well. I had a dental filling completed recently by Dr. Fink and it was as pleasant and comfortable as could be (pleasant filling- that's an oxymoron). Dr. Fink is one outstanding dentist. The entire staff from reception to billing are all awesome. If you are in the market for a dentist or want an upgrade, try Modern Touch, you will not be disappointed. read more

Modem touch is amazing. I have pretty significant dental anxiety. The staff, from reception to the dentist, is so supportive. I actually hugged the hygienist on the way out the door. They were able to get me in the same day for a dental emergency. Dr Tack was kind and knowledgeable. They have an after hours phone line for emergencies, which is reassuring. I am ready to try or conscious. Sedation when I have the dreaded root canal. For the first time, I am not afraid to go back. read more

All dentists at the Whitefish Bay location have been professional, congenial, and answered all of my questions to help me take better care of my teeth. Also, it is easy to set up future appointments after your cleaning. Additionally, Modern Touch Dental emails you as well as texts you reminders before your upcoming appointment. I hate going to the dentist, period. On the day of my appointment I have to take the whole day off work because I'm too nervous to do anything. I decided to try out Modern Touch Dental because of they cater to people who avoid going to the dentist because of these issue. They really work hard to make sure you have a great visit. The entire process is explained, and they make sure you're comfortable at all times. I did the sedation process for a deep-cleaning and filling, and between the staff, medication, blanket and headphone with soothing music, the entire process was easy, completely a non-issue. After leaving a bad review for another dentist, I have to leave a good one for this office. I was recommended the office by my son's orthopedic doctors at Marquette, and it was a sound recommendation. My 12 year old son had to have two adult teeth pulled for his orthodonture, and since he's a wreck at the dentist, I needed to find a good one. Between the friendly and charming dental assistants and the calm and knowledgeable dentist (Dr. Banks), we were in great hands. On the day of his procedure, he walked in confidently rather than complaining about what was to come. His teeth were pulled successfully without a hitch and instructions about his aftercare were clear. (I will note we opted for nitrous oxide so he was high most of the time but he was a happy high--he hummed and sang while they worked.) For a kid who freaks at going to the dentist, this was a relief! The only star off comes because of the cost--I am guessing they are a bit on the high end and they do not have a contract with my dental insurance, but in this case, the cost was worth it for the ease of the procedure. We'll be using them from now on as his dental office. read more

Horrible experience!! I went to Modern Touch about a year ago, because I heard an advertisement on the radio that they would put you under when you had work done. I have had a lot of dental issues, including braces, headgear, removed teeth, etc, when I was very young, so the dentist has always been a frightful place for me. On my first visit, not two minutes after looking into my mouth the dentist told me I needed to have my wisdom teeth removed. In order to have my braces, four of my teeth were pulled when I was a teenager (before my wisdom teeth came in) and I have two permanent retainers that have kept all my teeth in place. My orthodontist has told me I wouldn't need to have my wisdom teeth removed, since they had grown in straight and hadn't crowded anything. When I told the Modern Touch dentist this, her explanation was that since one of them already had a cavity, the rest were going to get cavities too so it would be best to pull them all out. I responded with if we were going to use that logic, then they might as well pull all my teeth. She obviously wasn't expecting me to object, and brushed past the "recommendation" as if it didn't matter. It was clear that she was just recommending I get them pulled so she could get the payout from the oral surgeon I would go to, regardless of the needless pain and money on my part. That should have been my first clue. I knew before going in that I would have cavities - I have very weak enamel, and it doesn't matter what I do I always get them. Some of my teeth have been bothering me, and I told her which ones but she insisted that four of my other teeth needed immediate attention. Fine, I took her advice, and I made the appointment - not knowing that the four teeth she was talking about were on every side of my mouth. One on the right bottom, one of the left bottom, one on the top right, one on the top left. So that meant that they numbed my entire mouth. I was afraid I was going to swallow my tongue, I couldn't feel anything. And she put a vice in my mouth to keep it open, too uncomfortably large for me, which I tried to tell her but obviously couldn't. And when I'd relax enough to make it bearable, she'd twist it open further even though tears were falling down my face and I was gripping the chair so hard it made my hands hurt. And if that wasn't bad enough, I could still feel all the drilling - no one ever asked me if I wanted to be put under - and my teeth and jaw hurt for days afterwards. My bite didn't line up either, and apparently this is standard practice for them since the person in the chair next to me was there for a readjustment of her bite after a filling. I've been to a fair few dentists before, and I have never had to go back to have my bite fixed. Needless to say, I never went back to Modern Touch, and I let my teeth smooth themselves out - which wasn't the best course of action I know, but I couldn't bring myself to go back to that terrible place. I moved to the area a few years ago and needed to find a new dentist. I had been going to the same dentist in Illinois since I was a child, and was weary about finding someone new. I heard all the ads on the radio, so I decided to check it out to get the free spinning toothbrush. Modern Touch said I needed all of my old fillings removed and replaced and 7 new fillings done and that it had to be done right away. They tried to get me in that week for all the new work. I was a bit overwhelmed because I take great care of my teeth, so I wanted a second opinion. Also, I never got my toothbrush. Anyway, I called my old dentist in Illinois, who told me to give him the x-rays and other scans they did at Modern Touch and to come in and he'd take a look for free. They looked at my teeth and the paperwork and told me my teeth were perfect and I didn't need any work done. I spoke to some lawyers who told me that since I didn't go through with the procedures, that I couldn't file a lawsuit, but I did report Modern Touch. I had such a bad experience, I'm afraid to try anyone new now, so I drive an hour to Illinois every 6 months and still go to my old dentist. read more
