Gabriel and his crew arrived at location on time ( they had called me but phone did not recognized number so call went straight to voicemail twice ! So I called them back 10 minutes later and they were politely waiting for me at designated location). They made my move a breeze. I just moved my stuff to a local storage in La Grange but they are abruptly closing down so Tyler took my call on a short notice and accommodated my move for the day after ( incredibly accommodating). Crew was respectful and fast , the moved a very heavy hutch into my new place and organized perfectly the rest of my stuff in a very small unit but miraculously they made it work!! Team did the move, the move out team was slower than advertised but it was busiest day of the year in Chicago and they did their best. No real qualms there. Move in team was great the next day. What got me with this company is because the move out took 4 hours, they said I had to pay up front 4 hours for the move in fee the next day which was not agreed upon. For reference move out was a 4th floor with elevator and move in was 1st floor no stairs. They held our stuff hostage until I paid for 2 more hours than negotiated. Of course the move in took all of 75 minutes, and haven't heard back from them on the extra 2 hours I was billed. Shady business tactics from the owners, but solid movers. read more

When I tell you I thought because it was April 1st 2026 (aprils fools day) I was being punked by this moving crew. They quoted me $840 and took a $100 deposit from me over the phone a few weeks in advance to move my family and I to our new home. We spoke to Donna on the phone and let her know in detail the amount of rooms and the sizes of the beds sets in every room we even had updated them that we had got rid of a sectional we had and a loveseat, so remaining was the dining room table pictures and boxes. When the crew arrived they did a walk thru and the main guy said he was over the two guys he brought with him they followed behind him. Over the phone they estimated that it would take 3.5 hours to move me from my old place to my new one. I've moved over 15 times in my lifetime and I usually pay once they are done and charge me their hourly rate with no issue. This time around was completely different they told me my rate before they saw the place or completed the work. They arrived at my old place at 9:10am and began to break down my furniture one room at a time slowly instead of breaking up items separately. We then called Donna because the main guy caught an attitude and started yelling but said he was just talking loud so loud Donna heard he yelling. After that he proceeded to be disrespectful and still not take things down properly. So it's almost 12:30pm and they where still not done loading the truck to take to the next destination which was 9 mins away. So now they started to try to rush and tear up our furniture trying to get it in the truck which they loaded wrong to begin with. The main guy called his boss who he referred to as Tom and Tom was on speaker at this point telling his guy to charge us more money because his employees went over because they didn't break down the furniture right or load the truck like they were suppose too. So now it's 1:30pm and we're just now headed to the new place after they missed there deadline. We pull up to the new place and demand me to pay another $475 for a new quote they have for the amount of time it will take them to unload the truck he boss Tom told him I had 30 minutes to go to the bank for the rest of the money or they wouldn't put my furniture back together ! I couldn't believe that they still had the nerve to be disrespectful after they went over time that they estimated. After it was all said and done I ended up with my new furniture ruined and left in pieces for me to figure out how to put it together and out of $1,550.00 for mishandling my furniture and leaving me to pick up the pieces ! read more

You see the photos and if this makes it to court I have the actual edited documents to bring with. You guys see the photos of the damage and Donna in their service department got them as well as did Citibank. I guess I should've read the reviews. The two stars would've told me this company is terrible. They sent two drunk guys to my house. They spent 45 minutes signing contracts before the minute move even began then they broke furniture ruined my wall, ruined my sofa, and no one took accountability for it, then collected extra money for me when it was done don't use these folks. You've been warned. Look at the two star reviews and let's also not forget that jim one of the principal owners forged my signature onto documents. That's great Customer Service right The owners decided to follow up and saw my previous review was false. That is a lie and I have the documents to prove EVERYTHING INCLUDING PHOTOS AND VIDEO. Also I have a copy of the "contracts" that show NUMEROUS edits without accompanying signatures. And you sent documents to my bank reflecting the exact same electronic signature on all of them. Marcus and his team arrived on time and ready to work. Their maintenance task was to unload two pods from the driveway into the house. But first we asked them to move to the garage several large pieces of furniture that the previous residents had left. No problem! Crew was courteous, cheerful and a pleasure to work with. Even when we changed our minds and asked them relocate pieces that they'd already placed, they were happy to do it. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND. read more

Your company sucks in my opinion. When moving, your workers after being loaded, waited and would not move truck, till worker got a pay off to reveal my new address to neighbor that lived above me. I asked prior to booking to keep my new destination confidential. I waited in my car and watched truck just sit there till finally worker came. What was he doing? Home was locked up. He was talking with neighbor and getting a pay off. To this day I still have this nuisance bothering my peace and I blame a lot on your company employees. Even after being unloaded at new home, it started to rain very very hard, and I had to stay outside in my car, cause they were all in the truck and would not move the truck so I can drive me sweet old car into my new garage. Why did I not look at reviews before hiring them and seeing what I may be up to. 2 star reviews on hundreds of people reviewing them. What a joke and a mistake. Wow. I had to move my house out due to water damage, they quoted me a little over $7k, ended up charging me over $13k. We almost got into a fist fight (not,) as the movers on the spot asked for cash from me or else. Later I scheduled, talked again to Donna, the move back , all confirmed and ready I thought we were, called her a day before and she says you're not scheduled oh and you have to have a cashier's check before they will put any furniture back in your home. I offered to pay with a credit card, as I do not have a day before a chance to go to a bank, during working hours, while abandoning my work, to draw a cashier's check. Donna proceeded to tell me that it is Illinois law I have to pay cash or a cashier's check on the day of move in. I have moved at least 5 times in the last 25 years, never have encountered anything even remotely unprofessional and disrespectful and unwilling to work with a customer. run, run, run as far away from advanced as you can. read more

Unfortunately, my move did not go well. I had initially contacted the company the day after to let them know of my disappointment with broken and damage items. I had purchased the extra insurance and they were going to send me a claims form which they never did. The day of the move I noticed that one of the movers was not experienced at all (even though in their ads they mention that all movers are experienced). He was stacking the boxes all wrong. For example he stacked/leaned a heavy box on top of a lamp shade! I even let the lead mover know of this to watch our for him. I mentioned to this same mover three times that there were still boxes in the crawl space that he did not move and all three times he said that he would take care of it. The last time I even asked him if I should make a last check and he said not to as he took care of it. My fault, it resulted that I had to move these 7 large boxes by car the next day. I was going to let my disappointment slide, but apart from the damage to the walls, dropping of drawers from furniture items that have a certain value, I am slowly discovering more damage. The basement has boxes that should have gone upstairs and vice verse even though I had color marked and labeled each box where it should go. They did not remove the shelves prior to moving the bookshelf/cabinet items with the result of the shelves moving around and breaking the brackets that were supporting them. The boxes in the basement are wrongly stacked. Heavier ones on top of lighter ones which is resulting in the stack leaning and will fall if I don't intervene. read more

Everything was delivered in its original condition even after the travel across the country and moving it from the truck to warehouse and back onto a truck! Broken, gouged, lost and over a MONTH DELAY in delivery of our items. Do NOT use Advanced Moving and Storage. What a horrific experience we had with this company. It took over 33 days before we received our things which included multiple broken and lost items. It began when they miscalculated the number of things we were moving, which to note was conducted as a live walk through our home, but on moving day they sent a truck that was not big enough so it had to send an additional one. Instead of moving our things right away to our new home, they kept them in two different storage locations for over a week only to load ONLY ONE of the storage units. On its way, the truck broke down, and it took another 5 days before those first items arrived. Amazingly, we were not priority, though they clearly caused the issue, and instead of finding another truck or rent a UHaul they claimed because there were other moves scheduled we would have to wait another few weeks for the original truck to be available to bring down the remaining 1/3 of our items that were left in Bensenville IL. Finally the truck was on its way, yet again there was a mechanical issue with the trailer, and our things were delayed only to finally arrive, albeit some broken, 33 days post our original due date. To have your personal items lost, destroyed and then spending numerous hours anxiously wondering, waiting for answers on your delayed delivery is excruciating. Their lack of prioritizing us in this situation was apparent and appalling. Unbelievably, now 4 months later, we are still waiting for any form of compensation from Advanced Moving and Storage. read more

I used Advanced Moving & Storage's services for a local move from a storage unit to an apartment. was quoted a price based on the content of my storage unit. got a few other quotes, and while Advanced wasn't the lowest, it seemed reputable and so booked with them. After booking, I received a call from one of their associates, who highly recommended adding another moving professional to my job. It was an additional cost, but accepted this recommendation and paid in advance. Upon arriving at my apartment with a truck half-full with my possessions, the Advanced moving crew informed me that need to give them another $615 in cash immediately, and that they won't move my things until did. had some cash on me, knowing that they may take more time than estimated, but not $615. called Advanced's customer service to work through the issue. Their response was that"l probably had more things than what was reported, and so better go to the bank and get the money because the clock is ticking and it's costing me more money." What were my options? My possessions were on their truck, and they refused to unload it unless gave them an additional $615. ran to the bank. I paid them. It was ridiculous. We just completed an out of state move and I can not rave enough about the 5 gentlemen that took the best care of us! I thought pre-wrapping some of the furniture would be helpful; but they insisted on adding more to ensure everything would be delivered in perfect condition, which it was. Terrible company we have experience with. They gave us a quote for one amount. At the end of hours they stated that would cost more for us (cash payment was not clear stated upfront except down payment ) and won't take a check or Zelle or any other form of payment except cash. When we ran around 9:30 in the evening to get cash they took a hostage with all our belongings and drove away. Next day they started to bring cash and doubled payment. We asked why, they stated needed to unload the truck and store our belongings. When we brought the cash and asked to show furniture, they stated it was sealed in the containers. Next day the same truck came and delivered our items. This company should not do the business at all. Terrible. Do not use them. They gauged my dining room table and destroyed the veneer. One of the movers apologized and said he was working with guys who do not know how to move furniture but that they had a hard time staffing and were lax to fire employees. 2 of the guys appeared under the influence. If you value your furniture, be sure to get extra insurance (which they do not disclose when they do the bid on the phone). They are cheaper than other movers for a reason. I 100% would never recommend Advanced Moving and Storage. I paid them over $500 to move me literally across the parking lot. They sent 3 movers. 2 of whom knew what they were doing and one who did a lot of nothing. My son actually did more work than this young man. They left a curio cabinet wrapped in plastic and a tarp in my master bathroom. I had to move the cabinet myself. After I moved the cabinet I noticed a hole in the wall. Not sure how it got there but I'm sure it wasn't there when I moved in. I called and spoke to Donna and explained that the move did not go well and that they left a tarp behind and explained all the other issues. I asked for the deposit of $100 back due to my son basically doing the work of the 3rd mover. She told me that she will NOT reimburse me the deposit and it would have to come from the tips I gave the men who actually worked. So basically I'm taking food out of their mouths by asking for a $100 refund. After being promised that she'd get in contact with someone to pick up the tarp it is still in my home and I have not heard another word from Donna. Do yourself a favor and find someone else to move your home. This place is shoddy at best. read more

It's been a long time since I've written a review, but if I can save one person from using this horrible company, it's all worth it. My original two-hour window was between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. I got a call the night before saying that there was an issue with a truck and the movers would get there by 11:00. I guess what they really meant to say was the movers would get there by 3:00 p.m. That's quite a long two-hour window. When the movers got out of the truck, they were sweaty, run-down, and they looked exhausted. Let's just say they didn't look like movers I've used in the past. I knew they'd have trouble hauling some of my heavier pieces down from the third floor. I've hired highly organized movers before and unfortunately, that wasn't the case this time. Professional movers? They were highly unorganized and appeared totally untrained to correctly pick up and move furniture. Once we finally got to my new location I was told I'd have to cough up another $120 in cash to pay for an additional hour. And, it had to be cash and they suggested I go to the bank. They were several hours late and I need to pay more. If I didn't pay them in cash, they threatened to leave my things outside because I only paid for three hours. I asked if I could talk to a manager and conveniently no one was in the office. Miraculously they managed to finish in by the end of the third hour. The next day as I started to unpack I was heartbroken to discover some of my furniture was badly damaged. I can see if something breaks purely by accident, but this was damage done by disrespect and lack of caring about my property. A couple of pieces, including an antique, were so badly damaged I can't even imagine what they did to it. Other than the damaged furniture they stood a metal headboard against a newly painted wall and badly marked the wall. Let's not even go into the marks and scratches in the hallway of my building. And then there's the window air conditioner that I just opened to find the back smashed in. I called the office first thing Monday morning after my move and didn't actually get to talk to a customer service person for a couple of days. She mentioned that they would possibly send someone over to repair the furniture. So after emailing documents that I'm sure they already had, and sending photos of my damaged furniture, I finally received a check in the mail for $47.00. That didn't even begin to cover the damage. They also threw me a refund of $50.00 for being so late. So, for the grand total of $97.00, I have several hundred dollars in damaged furniture. I so badly regret not reading the Yelp reviews first. One of the worst wastes of money in my life. Booked 3 guys to pack and move my 2 bedroom apartment. Issues: - 2 guys had beef and one seemingly quit on the spot and had to be replaced burning several hours - one of the remaining guys failed to pack the kitchen (his one job) and burned all 7 hours wrapping every individual plastic piece with paper unnecessarily - the company failed to provide the crew with sufficient packing material forcing me to make runs to the hardware store to fix the issue during my work day - the job WAS NOT DONE and the crew only moved 80% of my items forcing me to finish the job myself the next day. This delayed the move in of the next tenants and incurred a 600$ fine for me - every room had unpacked cabinets, drawers, and shelves that were not packed - I was charged almost 2500$ for the above I'm leaving a star because the three guys who finished the day were nice guys but the company utterly failed to do the job and given than I incurred a fine because of this I will be seeking some kind of money back.
