I had a birthday celebration. I went in to purchase (number) balloons 3 & 4 once arriving home the 3 popped. I called and they said to come in and they would replace it. I went back and got the new balloon. Once arriving home the 4 popped. The balloons were NOT close to anything that would cause them to pop. They popped from the inner seal. At this point I was frustrated. I called party city/ staples and they told me it was a one time courtesy to exchange the balloon so nothing could be done for the second balloon. I was disappointed but still needed a 4. I drove to my local dollar tree and just bought it there. I definitely appreciate the transparency and the one time courtesy. As a customer we are not always right however I would have appreciated if they would have verbally communicated their policy on balloons and exchanges at the time of purchase. I went to the staples by Cerritos college to print a few certificates on card stock. 3 employees…read morebehind the counter, one of theme taking orders and no jobs running on any machine. they told me it would be 2.5 days to get 3 certificates printed. When I asked the female if it was possible to get my cert printed earlier, a taller male employee butted in and aggressively told me I had to wait like the other customers, that they had large jobs ahead of me... noting nothing was running, no jobs were being printed while I stood there. I drove over to Staples Seal Beach and met "OWEN". This young man "Owen" was working by himself, running three jobs at the same time, packaging, taking orders and helping people with printing questions. Owen was literally running between the printers, hustling to keep jobs going. He paused and quickly asked me what I needed, advising that the store was closing in 30 min. I told him I needed a quick print of certificates. OWEN jumped on it right away. telling me it should be picked up tomorrow but he would fit it in between jobs "right now". Owen packaged up the job he was working on on the printer and set my cardstock in, then completed my job perfectly. On the way out, I stopped to tell the female mgr of my experience. She simply stated, "yes, he has definitely made quite a few people happy tonight..." 3 confused employees doing "nothing" but making excuses why they can't get the work done, versus, one "OWEN" doing the job of 3 people, making no excuses whatsoever, and killing it! Great job OWEN! Staples at Cerritos College can definitely take some pointers from you and your Seal Beach store.

However the boxes are empty, and I don't know what kind of policy they have in this store for why their boxes are empty. But in all honesty, I'm surprised to see how this place sells routers that are a combo of router and modem. I also love how this place sells prescription-free hearing aids. If you are looking for a new desk, do not shop here! They are good for used desks that they have on…read morehand. If you need to order a new desk it will take months to get it! We ordered and paid for a desk with L-return and file cabinet on May 15 with instructions to hold until last week in June as we were remodeling our office and other rooms. When it came time to have it delivered, I called Dirk and he said he would check to see when it could be delivered. I waited and waited for several days and no call. Dirk has zero customer service skills as he doesn't keep you in the loop. I had to always be the one to make the phone call to him! When he finally had news to tell us he said we could only get the desk (not the return) and the file cabinet. Apparently a back order... which led me to believe our order never went to the vendor on May 15 as it should have! We received our desk and file cabinet around June 30. Waited another week or so to see when we'd hear from Dirk about the return and no call. So I again had to initiate the call to find out when we could expect the return. He said he'd check on it and get back with us. Didn't happen...I had to call again! He said since there's a back order on the 42" return (due to tariffs and ICE raids!) they had a 48" return we could have. After measuring our office to see if it would fit, I called him and told him yes, we could take the 48." Naturally if someone has an item in stock, it's usually shipped within a day or 2, right? Nope, not with Valuemander! After 4 days, I had to call again to get an update when we could expect the 48" return and Dirk had the nerve to laugh at my question! Really?? I didn't think it was funny! He said he'd call me on Monday (this was a Saturday). Monday came and went, no call from Dirk, Tuesday and Wednesday came and went and no call from Dirk. I had my husband call on Thursday as I knew if I talked to Dirk, I'd have a few choice words with him! Dirk told him we can expect the return on Wednesday July 23 around 8:30 am (mind you we ordered the desk on May 15th!). Dirk said he'd call us on Wednesday morning to confirm a driver to deliver. Hubby had to call him a little after 9am and Dirk said he'd call back in 10 minutes. At 9:55 Dirk called to say the return would be delivered at 11:45 which they did. I'm inputting a lot of detail in this review because I want to stress the lack of communication and customer service from this company. No one should have to go through what we did to get a new desk and file cabinet in the time frame from when it was ordered and paid for! Someone dropped the ball and didn't have the courtesy to admit it!
