Advanced Heating and Cooling installed a Trane Heat Pump at my home about 9 months ago. Several weeks ago, the heat pump started making an unusual noise. I called for service and they sent a technician out right away. He was unable to locate the source of the vibration and said that he was going to contact Trane's technical support for advice. I have not heard back from anyone at Advanced Heating and Cooling since. I have called them several times and just get excuses and promises to look into the situation and call me back. Nobody has called me. I regret having chosen Advanced Heating and Cooling. I regret having chosen a Trane Heat Pump. I would not recommend them for anything. I have had this variable speed heat pump for almost a year and a half. The first 6 mo was fine.. i can program temps and do what i need with my phone.. now the app hasn't worked for months, and i asked for help and didnt. This company does not do Q/A with their customers. We are ignored. read more

We moved to Kitsap county about two years ago and one of our HVAC systems needed replacing. We had no prior experience with HVAC before. So we interviewed four different air and heating companies in the county. Advanced stood out from the rest in terms of the care and specificity of what they proposed. Their pricing was in the middle ground of what others estimated. During installation, their crew was considerate of the disruption an installation like this can cause in a household. Once the system was in, they worked with us to tweak it and did several follow up visits to make this complicated install work as planned. Highly recommended. read more

I asked them to come out to my home to ensure my furnace was running properly and to change the filter for my tenants. I requested they reach out to me directly with their findings. No one called me. I was sent an invoice that stated the brackets that held the filter were missing and amps seemed low but they couldn't test and they would have to reschedule service.... yet I was still charged. When I spoke with my tenant they said the tech told them that over 1/2 of the heating elements were bad and they were going to reach out to the manufacture. NO ONE told me this. I had to call the office and the receptionist said, yeah it looks like we need to reach out to the manufacturer I will have the manager call you back. I also asked if they replaced the filter, and she said "yes, he definitely did". He did not replace the filter, and the manager didn't call me back. I called 2-3 more times to try to either fix or replace my furnace, and was told, the manager will call you back. I still have never heard from the manager, BUT I did get the past due invoice the service they didn't provide. I ended up calling Air Masters Heating and Cooling and having them install a new furnace and heat pump. Save yourself sometime and just call Air Masters Heating and Cooling. read more

Came out on short notice fixed my heating system and cleaned up all the poor installation from original install. Explained everything to me and treated me very well. The technician, Jim, that came was amazing and methodical. I should've called sooner. The price was reasonable. read more

Had then out this past winter to fix our heat pump. It cost over 3k as they said it would take a whole day and had to remove freon etc. They said the problem was the Schrader valve and replaced it and recharged the system. Said because it was cold they couldn't balance the system. They charged us for braising which they didn't do. Not even a week layer whole system shut down and wouldn't work. Was yelled at by the receptionist because I wasn't happy when I called she wasn't going to do anything. It's was freezing cold that day. Finally spoke to service manager who sent out Jim. ( he's great) he spent a few hours tracing wires and cleaning up the mess left by the previous tech. Got it up abd running. Also verified no braising done. Took a couple months to get a refund for that part because he verified it wasn't actually done but on billing. Fast forward to this past week. Had them come back as agreed to do the pressure test as it's now in the 70s and can be done. They come out all pressures are way off. So now their estimate is over 2k more to change another possible pressure valve issue. Charging for a whole day yet again. I talked to the service manager who had zero to offer other than their 2k plus estimate. It's not like I haven't already paid them over 3k. already for same issue. All she said was I'm sorry you feel like your not getting what you paid for. I would avoid them and their poor customer service and lack of warrenty in their work. They installed this system new and have serviced it in the past. Never again. I think Trane should look fir another company to represent their products in this area. They are also short staffed only have 2 techs working there from what I was told. I prepaid for my fall service which they won't be doing. Total rip off in my opinion. read more

At our initial appointment (heat pump repair) we we're thrilled with Advanced Heating! The technician was very knowledgeable and not only fixed the issue, but helped us to understand our system better. Yet, 3 days later, there was an issue connected to the initial repair. The system is now leaking water into our basement! We contacted the company and they wanted to charge us for after hours! This is a problem connected to their work, so I assumed they'd back up the repair in good faith. We were able to stop the leak temporarily. When we tried to call them again, we could only get their answering service "due to high volume of calls". We explained this was an emergency as we were having to consistently clean up water leaking. They said our request would be escalated. We still haven't heard from them 2 days since "escalation"! 8/8/22 Update: called twice last week to discuss service. I recently purchased a Trane system from Advanced Heating. I recommend this company. I appreciated working with all the employees in getting this new heat pump installed recently. Starting with John Springer - his thoroughness going through all the details of the possible job and listing it clearly in the proposal. Chris, Daniel, Larry - all were great during installation. Professional! Answering all my questions and adjusting to accommodate small changes in the scope. Robert - discussing my questions after installation and Barret for coming out quickly to troubleshoot changes needing to be completed. Of course, the office professionals were great to talk to - a great group of folks. Looking forward to maintenance of my new system and trouble free operation. We bought a house 9 years ago with a four zone Trane heat pump system. Always had Advanced do an annual service. No issues. Now are heat pump is 16 years old and starting to make some banging noises. We took this opportunity to upgrade the entire system and am so glad we did. Great new controllers, much better software, and we cannot even hear the heat pump inside the house. The techs were great to work with. Rodney even gave me his own cell number because the new system went live on a friday of a three day weekend. We had used Advanced Heating to install our heat pump and furnace. We are completely satisfied. Today is Dec. 20th and it's freezing and snow is falling. Our 94 yo widow had her furnace go out. My husband called Advanced to set up a time for her repairs. The next slot was for the following week but Advanced came almost immediately with four portable heaters. To our surprise a van and technician pulled up to her home to service her heater. Jim Rogers, technician, was great. He thoroughly explained what he thought was going on and ordered a part. The furnace is limping along until he gets the part but it least she is now able to stay warm. ​We can't thank Jody enough for sending Jim Rogers to do repairs. He was wonderful. Our heat pump quit working in the middle of the coldest week this year (of course). It was an emergency since we had no heat and were freezing, so I took the advice of a neighbor and phoned a different local company. They mis- diagnosed the problem and had their electrician come out to confirm what they claimed was the problem. Those two service calls cost us $280 and they gave us an estimate to fix it for another $2300! Before proceeding I contacted Advanced Heating (who had sold the system to the previous homeowner) and explained the problem. I wanted a second opinion. Rodney listened to the whole story, came out to personally take a look, and showed me why the first reports were wrong. Advanced brought in an electrician to swap out the breakers which we feel will fix the problem. I will be a customer for life. This company went way beyond what we expected. He was there to give me a quote on a heat pump but after seeing what I already had installed, he didn't try anything sneaky, gave me the quote, and said what I have is good for now. He also took the time to teach me about my units - how to change the filters, how the units works, what maintenance needs to be done and the benefit of doing so. I called this company after another hvac company tried to rip me off. I told them the problem over the phone, checked if they have the part that has the problem and gave me a schedule right away. The technician (God bless him) was so nice, explained everything to me and fixed my furnace in no time. Although not a part of his job, he even taught me how to turn on and clean my fireplace. The other hvac guy that I talked to (from the other company) before told me I would be paying close to $800 for the part replacement and even sweet-talked me into replacing my whole furnace what would cost around $3,000. They came out to check my heater, tracked mud and dirt into house. Had some trouble removing the cover to heater. Hot mad. Then spoke a different language in front of me. When asked what they were saying they started gaslighting me stating that they weren't talking about me. At the end of a 20min job they charged me almost $300. The reason I am writing this review is I can not believe that Advanced can continue to operate if they do not communicate. Today is June 4th 2018. On May 2nd we called them requesting a quotation on a new construction install in Poulsbo. No one contacted us, so on the 22nd we called again. They said someone would contact us within one day. As of today NOTHING-NO CONTACT-NOTHING We are retired Real Estate investors and have used Trane equipment on several new and existing projects. We have been very happy with the product, but if we had run our business as Advance runs theirs we would have been bankrupt 20 years ago. Apparently they have an employee problem that the owner is unaware of. read more

It's two plus months later, and I'm still waiting for the call back from Advanced to set the appointment that they said would be set within the next two weeks. I had called about this, got no response, then physically went into their office to discuss this. It's fairly straight forward... I need them to get under my house to move THEIR vents over for a minute or two so that my dryer vent can be reattached. They said they would do it, that I didn't need to get the crawl space guy to come in. I thought I was doing the right thing by calling Advanced as my furnace was installed by Ray's Heating... I believe this is the father or grandfather of the current owner. Not impressed with their service AT ALL. I plan to call them tomorrow to get a referral to another heating/cooling business.... We have a 26 year old heat pump which was failing early this summer. These people had serviced it periodically over the years. We discussed the option of repairing or replacing, and decided to repair. No overselling on their part either way. The repairs were time-consuming and difficult; the pricing was fair and it didn't seem to be adjusted upward when they ran into unexpected issues. Totally satisfied with the result and would recommend them highly. read more

I wrote a poor review on this company when I opened the bill I got after they restored my heat during the snow storms. Today I was surprised to get a phone call from them apologizing for the problems. As with any event, it usually isn't one thing, but a series of events that lead to poor service or a disaster. After Advanced got my payment and letter expressing my extreme displeasure they started to investigate what went wrong and why I was so unhappy. On that investigation, they found a series of events that showed they really goofed up on the service and communications. They called to let me know the results of their internal review and will be using it for customer service training to try and prevent this from happening to anyone else. I was amazed they called me to make it right and try to regain my trust. Because of this unexpected call and the sincerity to fix it, I have given them 4 stars. The service was always 4 star, just the admin that goofed up. read more

Their technician quickly diagnosed the issue in our radiant heating system, proposed a stopgap fix, and gave us long-term advice for how to repair (and eventually replace) the system. He quickly implemented the stopgap, installing a relay to ensure that one of our thermostats would turn on the pump, and the heater is now working again. The price was on the steep side. In fact, I initially paid too much based on a wrong lookup in the price book, but after I complained about the high price, their manager called me later that same day and offered a significantly lower price (by about $150), citing the error. It still ended up being pricier than I expected, but I am now satisfied and happy that our system is back up and running at a cost that's within reason. I was also informed that their policy is to inform the customer of the price before doing the work, even though that didn't happen in this case. This is good advice in general: find out what something will cost before you agree to the work. Having said that, I had no doubt about the technician's expertise and quality of work. read more

Had Advance Heating and Cooling out for an inspection to determine why my electric bill had climbed so high, they determined it was the motor on my heat pump fan had quit working. Had it fixed the next day and also a maintance was done on the whole system. They told me things about my furnace system that no one else had told me in 25 years. Most informative and very knowledgeable. I will have their number in my book and be the only ones I will call when I will probably have to replace this system in another seven years. Brian came and replaced it, checked out the furnace and air conditioning and we are now cool in the summer and warm in the winter!
