We had a scheduled installation for a humidifier For a late morning/early afternoon time slot. When the afternoon bore on, a call was made to ascertain arrival. Was told that the the tech was delayed on a job and will notify us when coming. At 4 pm, after no call or arrival, I called back and again asked what the status was. The tech was still coming. I said no m, not at this late time. I told them that it was unacceptable Service not to call us with an update. And canceled. Failure to notify a customer of a delay or updated status is poor customer service. read more

Not so impressed with the attitude on the phone call which makes sense considering the bad reviews I've seen. But the tech Aaron showed up with a great friendly personality and I feel like he did an outstanding job accommodating us and saving us some time and money with our furnace that had a faulty blower motor. read more

AEC replaced my entire heat pump system in 2022 while I was without heat. The quote was not the lowest, but also not the highest. In my opinion, the quality of the install in relationship to what I paid was right on. Talking directly to the manager in the planning and cost phase was very valuable to me. Their team also allowed me to use my own electrician. I will be using AEC for my next project. read more

Terrible customer service, created giant messes, lied to me on multiple occasions. Will say anything to get the project, and not actually answer questions. When the came to give the quote I asked them where they would put the heat pump and I said behind the house but when they went to install it it wouldn't fit behind the house according to code. I constantly had to hound them to finish the job and started in the spring and then they didn't finish until the winter after saying they could start in 2 weeks. Left me without heat on below freezing days because they were not finished. Didn't honor parts of the contract. Charged for servicing even though the contract says it's free for 3 years. Tried to charge me for things they didn't install(humidifier). Installed the ventilation system over some sill rot. Left gaping holes in my home for months. I Had to hound them every step of the way to get them to do the next part of the project. They were replacing propane and oil with gas and didn't tell me I had to remove the propane to do so and then the town wouldn't permit there work and I had to pay out of pocket for more conversions. Had to hound them to get permits including oil tank removal permit which they never pulled and I still don't have!!! The end result was an expensive system that I think is mis configured and ill fitting for my home (does not remove humidity properly). If you'd like to do the project management yourself, hire this company. That said there was one very nice technician but I wouldn't have them install anything. read more

Worst customer service of any company I have dealt with. Installed our central air 3 years ago. When we went to sell our home, we found out that they never closed the permit they pulled with the town. Called to rectify this with the company. Extremely rude woman on the phone every time I spoke with her and very dismissive. They initially told me I would have to pay for this which I refused to pay for something that should have been done by them 3 years ago. Now for a month every time I call they say they are "working on it" but I now have to pay for another company to fix their mistake since they are dragging their feet because they know this is time sensitive. read more

It's been 15 hours since we called. Our boiler system was installed by them and somehow the pipe going into the boiler burst. No heat and no water. Called several times and got a very vague response that they are swamped. Asked how many houses were ahead of us and was told they don't know. Woman on the call just hang up on us mid conversation. How is this company still in business? read more

AEC upgraded our furnace and installed a new AC for us this past summer. The techs were great and did a very quick and clean job. My town gave them the run around on permits, and they followed through, so I can check the box for honestly as well. I'd recommend them highly. read more

I made an appointment last week for a 8-10a window. I received a call around 11:30a that the technician had a flat tire. I received a follow up call an hour or two later that it was more than a tire and they needed to re-schedule. Scheduled for this am between 8-10a. No show again and I called customer service after 10a. Customer service gentlemen was a great listener and very apologetic! A+ I told him a simple phone call that the tech was running late. Told him I was looking elsewhere for service. I never give Yelp reviews, but felt compelled to share the experience. Wish it was a positive one! read more

I had a contract with another co for yearly maintenance. Advanced Energy is the recommended provided. I recently needed a repair so had them come out since they have supposedly done yearly maintenance. They e mailed me a quote with no details. I responded asking for a break down. No response. 4 days later I called the office for information. I have never heard from them. I contacted a different co which came the next day and made the repair quickly and for less. For no charge they cleaned the boiler and said it looked like it hadn't been done in years. I recommend you stay away. Poor service and dishonest. read more

Contracted for 2-zone central air system and it never worked as 2-zone. AEC admitted it was designed wrong and were given the opportunity to fix it. They could not. Professional air quality tests show mold in system and blower. We also now have toxic mold poisoning in our bodies. There is crushed and crimped duct work seen in attic. AEC said they would turn the case over to insurance so we could be reimbursed our loan amount instead AEC recanted saying the system was designed wrong and now have a lawyer. I strongly recommend NOT using this company. read more

Called for a service appointment on June 8th. Scheduled appointment between 3-5 pm. No show, no call. When I called to ask where the technician was very rudely told that because they where short staffed the technician was two service calls behind. If your running that late wouldn't you call and explain to your Customers and apologize instead I canceled Andy further appointment and called a different HVAC company. I'm a business owner myself and too wait around for two hours and never get a notification is TERRIBLE service. My time is money if you want my money show up on time. read more

I have used this company a few times. They are excellent at responding to emergencies but not so good with routine work. After trying different times to get furnace cleanings and they were repeatedly rescheduled I went elsewhere. The technicians are knowledgeable and competent, but vary in communications skills. Today for the first time I used them for a non-heating plumbing job. The plumber gave bad information to the family member at the house regarding payment. He also had two numbers to reach me the homeowner but took it upon himself to not repair the broken bathroom sink stopper because "it would be too expensive". This is a decision I should have made. He is not the one dealing with a clogged sink when things fall down the drain. He also threw out my strainer basket for the kitchen sink which I wanted to keep without asking. The office manager is good, but it is hard to get past the gatekeeper CSR to her. He is pleasant but ill fitted for the job. He kept repeating himself, asking again and again for my name for instance, and seemed flustered. If you can't get anyone else and your furnace won't work they are a good bet, but the company definitely could improve. read more

Did a combustion replacement and cleaning at the same time, no 'itemized invoice' for the 581.00 combustion , after some back and forth, the owner e-mailed me, (hidden costs)....Cleaning on the boiler was 'slipshod' told the tech I was having 'burner lockout' siad he checked the 'wiring' ....when I had electrician look, wone wire to the relay was hanging and another one was loose. I have always had good experience with Advanced Energy. They are prompt and arrive when they said they will. Very courteous and helpful. I had them out twice this week. Once to do the yearly maintenance for my a/c unit and today since the seal broke on my guest bathroom toilet. read more

Overall a good experience. They worked with me to expedite the job and help with a warranty claim. There was a minor dispute over the number of hours billed for the first day, but that was more than made up for on the day the work was completed. Kudos to Aaron the tech and Vicki in the office. read more

Their service is abhorrent. Despite their technician's time-wasting incompetence, they were extremely rude to my parents and me, and their "service" is not at all worth what they charged us. We were referred to them by a Home Depot in the area. We called to schedule an estimate on a new furnace. Sean, the man who came over to do so, said that it would be in our best interests to have someone come look at the air conditioning before we scheduled the furnace replacement because doing both at the same time would save us money. Today was the appointment to have the air conditioning unit looked at. We were told that the technician would arrive between 8-10am. He arrived at noon, and we were not given so much as a courtesy call to say he would be late. He then proceeded to fumble around and waste time because he could not find the equipment he needed to look at. Since they are paid for their time, this was no skin off their backs, so we just watched him sit around and twiddle his thumbs. The total bill was ridiculous. We are seriously displeased with their service and attitude. I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

Awful experience, customer service is awful, the techs don't call when they are running late and no apologies from the customer service rep. Wish I had never used them for my new heating system. Stay away if you can! read more

They are a rip off!! The worst customer service ever! They charged me 95 dollars to come out to look why I don't have heat on Tuesday. They told me it was because the chimney was clogged and I needed a chimney sweep. I got a chimney sweep out the next day paid 250 and was told my chimney was fine and my heat is still not working. I called them right after that to tell them I did what they told me and I still don't have heat. They had the technician call me and he said he would call me back and never did! So it is now Thursday and I left a voicemail this morning and I finally got a hold of them around noon because I kept calling and was told they would be sending a technician out today but it may be late. I was never told anything about fees or anything at this point. The Technician finally calls around 5 and says because it is after hours I will be charged over time WHICH IS NOT FAIR BECAUSE THEY NEVER DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM THEY CAME OUT FOR ON TUESDAY AND IT NOT MY FAULT THEY DIDNT FIX THE PROBLEM IN THE FIRST PLACE AND THEY CAN ONLY SEND SOMEONE AFTER HOURS TO FIX THE PROBLEM THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO FIX TUESDAY THAT I WAS ALREADY CHARGED FOR!! I called to cancel the call and the technician then called me after and was very rude when I said it was unfair that I should have to reschedule to not pay overtime when I should not be charged at all because they were just here and didn't Fix it and I was speaking professionally with the technician and he hung up on me in the middle of conversation! I was recommended to them by a good family friend and they are shocked as well. I would never recommend them!!!! Stay away!!! read more

This was our first experience with repairs by Advanced Energy Concepts. I called as soon as we woke up since we had no heat, and it took them more than 2 hours to get to our house. And that was after calling them back multiple times. Once the technician arrived, he said he needed to go back to Auburn to get a part, and that the time it took him to get there would need to be paid by us. So we decided that it was OK. He took one and a half hours to get back to our home, which should not have been more than an hour given the distance and no traffic(off peak hours). Once he came back and replaced the part, the fix did not work, so he left once again to get some more parts from Lowes, so still more time spent. Then they said the oil pump needed to be replaced, and charged us 305 dollars + tax, although the price should have been around 175 dollars. At the end of it all, the technician took more than 5 hours to fix the issue, and it cost us 873 dollars. We have had issues in the past with our old boiler, even replacement parts put in, but never has it taken so long for anyone to fix a problem, nor has it ever cost us so much! And this is a 4 year old boiler, which is regularly maintained, not an old one. So careful before you decide to use this company. read more

I have used Advanced Energy for about 4 years. They installed our furnace and central air conditioning. Everyone that has done work at my home has been outstanding. Whether it was the installers or routine maintenance everyone has been fantastic. We had a problem with our furnace on the coldest day of the winter and on a Sunday and someone was at our house within the hour. Would recommend Advanced Energy to everybody read more

Last night my AC went out. Steve from Advanced worked for 2 hours in a very tight attic, was super nice. Made the fix and got me up and running. My only complaint he had to leave to pick up a part. They do charge you for that. read more

I waited over six hours on two different days and the tech never arrived. I finally gave up and found another company.

After using this company for service for more than a year, our last service call earned this company 1 star only because 0 stars isn't an option. There was some major MISS-COMMUNICATION and whoever took the call didn't properly relay what the call for service was about. The service technician was therefore UNPREPARED to deal with the problem presented as he was miss-informed as to the reason for the call, and as a result was unable to do the repair (after showing up two hours after the expected arrival time.) Then we were charged TWICE for the service call, as he had to come back. I tried to contest this, but got nowhere as they claimed we were to blame for mis-stating the issue, which my husband had clearly explained to the operator. I do not recommend, and will take my business elsewhere in the future. read more

I decided to use Advanced Energy Concepts for a spiritual community center after being recommended by Home Advisors, and after seeing the great ratings at Yelp and other sites. On contacting them early April 2018, their rep named Vicky said they would be able to assign a contractor only after we gave them our credit card number for charging the cost of the initial visit. The contractor came in after a week and recommended replacement of the floor heating manifold, a part that they said could be received in 2/3 days. A week later, on calling them, Vicky advised that she will let us know when a second contractor will come to the site to check for the part details. No one showed up. Three weeks later, she said the part had already been ordered. When there seemed to be no further response, I went to their small two person office and was told that the part had just been received and she would send Shaun for install the following week. on the day before the appointment date, I was told that Shaun will show up a day later as he had other appointments. Next day, I waited for him to show up and on calling them after an hour's wait, was told that the part was a wrong part, and they need to return and reorder the part. By now it is nearing summer time and I don't know how long we have to keep waiting for a simple job. read more

Here's a great story of WHY NOT TO DO BUSINESS with Advanced Energy Concepts: I call to schedule a service/cleaning of my furnace in September. They tell me "we are scheduling into late October." Fine I say, no worries October 27th it is! I use a personal day at work so I can be home "between 9-12". Fast forward to yesterday, they leave me a message around late afternoon stating they need to reschedule due to emergency calls of other customers. I call them back this morning explaining that I really need someone to come and honor their appointment due to the fact I used personal time at work to be home, AND I have been waiting 5 weeks for this appt as it is. Their answer in a nutshell was "there is nothing we can do, we have emergency calls of customers and can reschedule you." "Ok fine, when is your next available appointment? "Early December" F#@k em! Already got another company coming...... Thanks for nothing. https://www.facebook.com/Advanced-Energy-Concepts-27775030.../ read more

I scheduled a morning appointment, and the service attendant showed up in the late afternoon and entered without an apology, explanation, or greeting after my daughter opened the door. Fortunately, I was still home, but was uncertain whether anyone was going to show up, because I did not receive a call informing me of a delay. I would have understood if I had been told ahead of time. The service that was scheduled was for AC maintenance and maintenance on the furnace, but there was miscommunication and the service attendant was adamant that the service scheduled was only for the AC and not the furnace. The miscommunication was cleared up after I called the office while the service attendant was working. The service attendant's demeanor was not as professional as I have experienced in the past. I was planning on not continuing service with this company, but I did receive an apology from Vicky when I called the office. Since I received an apology, I am keeping the service and I will determine whether I renew again after my next service. read more

My heat went out on the coldest day ever in a home that I just bought this summer. Since they installed the system several years ago I called them to service it. Very Poor Service!! Do Not Use!!! Why/ Called them to come out because my heat pump system (hvac) was not working. They charge 95 dollars on the phone before they send someone out. So be it, I paid . The technician came out a few days later and went to check out the outdoor portion of my system. He stopped and told me that the system was installed incorrectly. I said the company I purchased it from was out of business and the heat pump system has been working beautifully since it was installed. Nevertheless he said the right thing to do was redo the install, and he would get me an estimate to do that.. He left, never touching anything and spent a total of 10 minutes at my home. after not hearing from them for 11 days I called the office and was told the technician was working on the estimate. I asked if a tech could come out and get the system working and we could do the install fix after. The lady on the phone said Sure but we have to charge you another 95 dollars. I said forget it. I called another repair shop from Charlton who sent a technician out the next day and repaired the unit within one hour. To date I still have not received any estimate from Advanced Energy Concepts and have called them back twice more and twice have been given the runaround. They obviously don't really care and seemed only interested in getting there 95 dollars up front. read more
