I had a clogged sewer main. I called Heritage. They sent Shawn right away. He came in explained what he needed to do, gave me my options and went to work right away. He took care of the problem quickly and professionally. He also recommended water cleanup company to clean the basement. Very happy with his work and recommend him highly. read more

Just wanted to provide an update. Decided to give Heritage one more chance, and they ghosted us TWICE for a simple HVAC job that happens to be time-sensitive, after confirming both appointments. Just reaffirming that they are indeed terrible and treat customers terribly. read more

Predatory business practices and negligence is the only way i can describe our experience with heritage. We called them for emergency services to address waste water backing up into our bathrooms. The first technician they sent tried snaking the drain 50 ft from the clog and ended up flooding our house with sewage. The line had been blocked by roots so he just packed up and left. The second technician they sent the following day tried to get us to commit to digging up the sidewalk to access the clogged pipes for what he said would be "conservatively $65000".He didnt even attempt to clear the roots. We got a second opinion the following day. The plumber from 128 PHCE unclogged the line that day and set us up to have the pipes relined the following day for under 8K. Do not trust Heritage for any work on your home, they will either pressure you into spending ungodly amounts of money or just make the issue worse. read more

I had Heritage come over because my a/c was not working. The guy comes over and says that mice had chewed all the wires in my unit. I had him give me a quote and then he says that I might want to replace the whole unit since the coolant is being phased out. He is really pushing. So my unit is 3 years old..a new home. I have him give me both quotes. The repair is $2500-$3000 and the replacement is $16-$20k. So, I pay the $99 charge and call someone else in to look. The second company repaired it on the spot in 15 minutes for $400. Shame on Heritage! read more

Is anyone else experiencing extreme issues with Heritage Home Services in Massachusetts? They only have now what they call the "overflow line" and the people on the line cannot do anything except say you'll get a call back yet that call back never happens. I purchased a whole new home AC system from Heritage less than a year ago that came with the first year maintenance included but the overflow line states no one can help with that and no one ever calls back. I'm now seeing fraudulent charges on my credit card from Heritage for $260 that I never authorized. I had no recent service and I'm wondering if they are pulling any credit cards a customer has used before and started charging them for their annual maintenance. I've never once authorized Heritage to keep my credit card information on file nor to charge it at their leisure. This used to be a good company but now they are operating on an "overflow line" that takes all calls. I have to report the charges as fraudulent to my bank since no one at Heritage can call me back and the "overflow line" can't do anything but take calls and do nothing. This is going to be a big hassle having to cancel my cards that Heritage is charging. Is anyone else getting these $260 fraudulent charges and going through this? Such a good company that has now become a huge disappointment. It's sad as their workers are good people. read more

Awful customer service. New furnace installed over four months ago still is not working. Although two months ago I was told this was a priority.... Just keep getting excuses. I'm sorry I trusted. read more

Heritage replaced my water heater in February 2025. In June 2025, a technician from a different company came to assess the HVAC system and found three gas leaks in the water heater pipes, the joints of which hadn't even been tightened. Also, a total of $464 for a standing inspection and a permit fee was added to my bill from Heritage, and after a call to Heritage, the technician told me that sometimes it takes months for an inspection but that he would let me know when it would happen. That was five months ago, so I called again and the person said he was going to get in touch with the inspector. I asked if the inspector had been called by Heritage back in February and he said he would have to check. My guess is no. An inspection would have found the three gas leaks. My condo could have exploded along with others as well. Back to June 2025. Heritage assessed the problem with the above-mentioned HVAC system during the heatwave. A technician came out and told me my compressor needed a fan, and that he would have a new one in a couple of days. After calling Heritage three times, I discovered that technician "left the company" a day after his visit with me and Heritage hadn't told me until my third phone call, so I was waiting in a 90-degree F condo for a fan that hadn't been ordered by a man who no longer worked there. A second technician from Heritage came to my home and told me the air handler in the attic was broken. I don't have an air handler in the attic. He then quoted me an exorbitant amount for a new AC unit that included a gas furnace, which I hadn't ordered. When I brought it to Heritage's attention, I was told they would send me a "corrected" estimate. I think they were hoping I wouldn't notice. The result of all of this is that I haven't had AC in my home for almost a month during one of the hottest periods in a very long time. I hired a different company who gave me an estimate for almost half the amount of the least expensive one I got from Heritage. It's a one-day job scheduled for the day after tomorrow. read more

Took advantage of the "free" comfort plan that they offered me that was supposed to include cleaning my mini splits. Day of appointment was told it only covered one head and outside unit. Charged me for rest, whole time tech said wow these are very clean.....then why keep charging me! After visit i had to vacuum the dust he left behind and rewash my bedding that dust fell onto. Tried reaching out to them multiple times and no call back from a manager! Will never use this company read more

Since merge of Quail the service pricing doubled. I do not recommend Heritage. What used to be a onetime annual service of Mitsubishi ac/heat and my propane mobile furnace, is now two separate service calls at double combined prices verses both under one bill. The two bills combined total are double what Quail charged. The green checkmarks of ratings are not removable within this forum read more

Bought a heat pump from them 3 years ago. Cooling has never worked in the summer, heating fails twice every year in winter. Even when it works it can't heat the house over 65 degrees. The problem is always the same, a leak in the line they installed. Instead of fixing the leak, they refill the refrigerant every time and charge me a few hundred dollars. Every time I have helpfully told them about the continuing leak issue, but they don't listen. Now that the heat pump is out of warranty they are recommending a $3000 repair of the problem they should have fixed three years ago. EDIT [responding to reply from the company]: Heritage has had three years to "work on finding a resolution." They have "heard more details" for three years. This issue is not a surprise to them. I finally gave up and filed a Better Business Bureau complaint. Here are some actual quotes from several of their technicians: "There's a leak but we're just going to refill the refrigerant again and hope the problem goes away." "Wow, it looks like the last guy we sent just jacked up the backup electrical heat. Your heating bills must be through the roof!" "We shouldn't be charging you anything for this since the problem started while the unit was under warranty." [but they do continue to charge me] "Yeah, we've had a lot of complaints about our workers refilling the refrigerant instead of fixing leaks." "I'm looking at the service history and the refrigerant has had to refilled five times. That means there's a leak." Every time Heritage sends someone they tell me the last person they sent was incompetent. Do you want to deal with a company with such total lack of self-respect? read more

Prompt service and fair pricing! They always explain the options and layout costs ahead of time. Definitely recommend if you live in their service area read more

They did the plumbing job, and additionally scratched up my front door, flooded water below my sink and into my basement ceiling leaving huge water damage spots, and left blood all around my kitchen and door handle. Brought up my concerns with photos of all the damage they did and was ignored but was given a fake public apology on Google. Would never recommend this company after what they put me through. read more

Since Heritage Home Services bought out Quail Services the company has become outrageously overpriced for their services. I would NOT recommend hiring this co. Unless you are willing to drastically overpay. read more

I have been pleasantly surprised each time I have hired this company. Logan is super helpful and informative. Not only did he diagnose the issue with my boiler but gave me lots of information on rebates from Mass Electric and NStar. And they got me in touch with a great no interest financing company when I needed a larger job done. I also was able to get an estimate on air conditioning unit for my in-law apartment. This company knows what customer service means! And they are up to date on the latest info on rebates, and the newest products, and yet still know their way around my older unit. The 2nd time I called them they saved me a bunch of money by being straight with me when another company tried to fleece me out of money for a new oil line when all I needed was a boiler cleaning. read more

Would not pour RV antifreeze , which I had available, into my central AC condensate drain to prevent the water in it from freezing and cracking my drain. Reason given was that they don't use products, RV antifreeze, provided by home owner! Bogus reason to me! Will not call them to service my central AC again! read more

I recently moved into a house with no air conditioning. I have significant environmental allergies that prevent me from opening windows for long periods of time and a dog with a heavy coat, so central ac was a necessity for me. Jim and his crew were referred to me by my real estate agent. I called him and he came out. After assessing my needs, he gave me a quote. I had quotes from Home Depot and other places and their prices were similar or slightly higher. I called Jim and he was kind enough to squeeze me in two days after I moved into the house. His staff were friendly and professional. The all day installation went smoothly and I now have a nice, cool home. I can't say enough about the professionalism of his staff and how pleased I am with the product. I highly recommend. read more

Great service, had a mask, very thorough, answered all questions.

We bought our house in the summer. When the weather became cold, we realized our heating system was not working properly. We need a new system immediately. We looked several suppliers. Quaiel Mechanical came and did thorough measurement. They provided professional advice to us. They installed the new system for us quickly and helped us with paper works for energy rebates. They also helped us clean our old duct. We are happy with their service. We recommend Quaiel Mechanical to others who need service for heating or cooling system. read more

We had used Quail Services in the past for our HVAC system. We didn't have an issue with the work they did in 2019. However, we needed to have the system looked at again and when I called, Samantha said the new company policy requires the owner to be onsite. We weren't on site before and provided a credit card to pay for all work preformed. After Samantha spoke to the Owner, James Quail, he decided that he would not be willing to do the same as last time to perform services to the HVAC system without the owner present. We live out of state, it is tenant occupied, and we would have paid with a credit card as we did in the past. Apparently, he doesn't want to keep customers and doesn't want the work since he was unwilling to help a past customer out. I would not recommend this company for any of their services. Not a good way to do business where a lot of properties are not all owner occupancy. read more
