Horrible front office hangs up on you. Extremely rude and will not go back to Clearwater office but will stay with my doctor.

I've lost count of how many Colonoscopy's and Endoscopy's I've had over the years. Tried and failed with too many drugs to count. You see I have Crohn's Disease. I'll spare you all the details of Crohn's, (you can look it up if interested) other than to say It is one of the diseases of IBD, Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Not to be confused with IBS, Irritable Bowel Syndrome. (although at times they have similar symptoms) Enter Dr Eric Weston. On the recommendation of a coworker and friend I went to see Dr Weston. Thankfully under his care I've been relatively in remission for going on two years. One is never cured of this chronic disease, remissions are the best we can hope for. Through his meticulous and thoughtful practice, he has brought me back from hopelessness of ever getting help with this condition. Dr Weston is very thorough with his exams, and takes the time to talk and explain each course of action that he recommends. I've never felt rushed by him or his staff even though I'm usually one of his last patients of the day. As anyone knows who has to deal with doctors offices, the staff are the back bone of any medical practice. His medical assistants Savannah and Nicole are top shelf, and always get back with me the same day any time I've called them. So why write a review for a doctor? Yelp was started by folks looking for a dentist. So if you're looking for an excellent gastroenterologist, I highly recommend Dr Eric Weston.

This was my experience at the Plant city (PC) location... I relocated to Plant city recently, so I had to find a new provider and ended up choosing Gastro Florida. My experience at this gastroenterologist's office was disappointing and frustrating. The PC office performs in house procedures such as colonoscopies. I had two office visits and one in patient visit. All three visits I arrived early for my appointments, only to wait well over an hour past my scheduled time with no explanation or update from the staff. Communication on these visits was poor. My inpatient colonoscopy experience reminded me of cattle being herded in a small room with sheets separating the room into what could be thought of as stalls. These stalls are small enough to fit a bed and medical equipment, no real space to move. There is no privacy as each person can hear all the conversations around them. Conversations that are personal in nature. It felt crowded as people are ushered in and out. The whole visit felt rushed and impersonal--as if my concerns were more of an inconvenience than something to be addressed with care. I never saw a doctor before the procedure nor after to advise me what was found. I saw the doctor for all of 5 minutes during this procedure. When I woke up, I was told by nurses that the doctor sent out for test results. When I asked why they responded with I don't know and handed me a sheet of paper and ushered me out the door. They set up an appointment to come back two weeks later. The final office visit was no better since I had to wait over an hour to see the doctor regardless of the time of my appointment. Only to be rushed by the nurse because the doctor had a flight to catch. At that point I had enough and took my results and left. This was the opposite experience I had of my last gastro doctor. There were never excessive wait times for office visits or procedures. What to expect was explained to me day one and the level of patient care was amazing. The doctor took the time to attend to me before and after the colonoscopy. The findings were thoroughly explained, and my treatment was put into action the day of not two weeks later. Patient care should be about more than just moving people through the door and incentivizing the practice's bottom line. Sadly, this office seems more focused on quantity over quality. I will not be returning and would not recommend this practice to anyone seeking compassionate, timely, and thorough care.

I had been in and out of the hospital for the past several weeks dealing with Gastro issues. When I was released the very last day they gave me a written referral to be seen by Dr. Patel within 3-5 days. When I got home I called and made an appointment for two days later. I gave all of my information when I called, as well as registered prior to the appointment. When I arrived I checked in, paid my co- payment and went on the speak with the nurse and fill him in on the entire hospital experience. We were going over all of the medications they sent me home with when the receptionist abruptly walked in and said they cannot see me. I presented them with the written release papers from the hospital clearly stating to Follow up with that exact doctor within three days. She said no, I was not being seen. Not only was I half way through my visit already, I had waited two days for the appointment and it is now Thursday, Leaving me without medical care lined up. I asked if I could become a self pay patient and still keep the appointment. I desperately needed the medical care, sooner than later. The answer was NO. While I was in shock that they were turning me away at that point of the visit. It was how they handled this entire situation that blindsided me. A professional office would have taken responsibility for their error and offered assistance. Not screamed that I wasn't being seen, and asked to leave. This office is clearly NOT about the health of the patient. I left the office with no alternative medical appointment and ZERO support.. STEER CLEAR! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

Pleasant lady (Karen?) asked me for the remainders of my medical history, etc. She made me feel quite at ease as we did all the preliminaries for a new patient. etc. So I was seated in exam room all ready to go by 0825; pretty quick for a specialist's office!!! Dr. Beljic entered the exam room very soon after that. He went over my family and personal medical history with me quite efficiently as he typed away. He seems to have a great "bedside manner," and was very thorough in explaining everything. Dr. Beljic is one of a few doctors at this practice, along with a couple of nurse practitioners. Soon after Dr. B finished with me, he sent me back to make sure I get scheduled for the procedure I need. That was quick since he downloaded all my info to the front desk at what seemed like lightning speed. I did this with Shannon, the scheduling coordinator. Yet another pleasant, efficient and caring soul! She was very good at explaining all of what I needed to do. She was very thorough in going over my particulars to ensure I was set up properly without any hiccups. Yet it was just a few short minutes and I was done! I walked out of the office and went on my way by 0855! Considering this was my first visit with an 0830 appointment time...holy cow! It helps that I downloaded all the forms I needed from their website and filled 'em out ahead of time. I'm also gonna guess that since I had an early appointment (they open at 0800) I was ahead of the curve too. Either way, I was very pleasantly surprised by how fantastic and efficiently this practice seems to run. Having GI issues can certainly be embarrassing (I know they ain't any fun), but these folks put me at ease in no time flat. If it's at all humanly possible to have a good doctor's office visit, then I surely had one. If you have a cranky colon, dismal duodenum, spasmodic small intestine or other such maladies, then I lucked out with the referral I received from my general practitioner (thanks Melissa)...BTW: make sure you have your referral squared away. Have your ID plus your insurance in order and with you too. They sent me a few emails and called me a couple days out with my reminders and so on. You're also encouraged to set yourself up electronically with "Healow," which is a medical app. I already have it through my general practitioner, but quite frankly it's one of the clunkiest sites I've ever had the occasion to encounter. Sometimes old school is better...

My primary care physician recommended Dr. Bidani for a medical screening. I scheduled an appointment with the office staff and was given an appointment that was at least three weeks out from the time that I called. Not a big deal since this was only for a screening. I had proceeded to fill out all of the new patient paperwork ahead of the visit in the hopes of being able to speed up the appointment time itself. I arrived at 10:15am for a 10:30am appointment. After about 35 minutes and after seeing patients taken out back that arrived after me, I proceeded to tell the receptionist that I would have to reschedule since I had already been waiting over 30 minutes. The receptionist looked at me with a confused look and asked "you've been waiting for 30 minutes?" I responded in a disappointing tone and then asked "is that normal since you're giving me a look?" What was even more frustrating was a conversation that took place between one of the nurses and this same receptionist that I had dealt with. The conversation could be heard by everyone in the waiting room. The nurse had advised that there was a patient who was just in the other day and she needed to get ahold of him/her to get a procedure scheduled and that the patient had no phone number listed and there was no new patient paperwork in the file. The receptionist responded with "I'm sorry, I'll do better next time." This was the tipping point for me that this medical office is not one that I want to be affiliated with now or ever.

In I walk at 0805 only to find a few people sitting there as it was...THAT didn't set well with me in the least. How much volume do they have here and how far backed up would I have been had I remained with 0915??? I wasn't too thrilled with the frump at the reception desk either. For one thing, my name isn't "Baby," "Hon" or "Doll." Verify this, sign that and initial the other form...and then it's "hurry up and wait" time. At least they had Animal Planet on the tube as I sat in the plain, threadbare lobby. Parenthetically, it's painted the most horrid color of yellow. Two toilets, one small magazine rack and 3 rows of prison-industry seating. Blech! So after a 62 minute wait, I FINALLY get hauled back to the Land of No Return. Originally a 0915 appointment had me going back at around 0905. BTW: I was finished and out the door by 1120. Well once I got back there: totally different and MUCH better story. There was a long line of beds separated by curtains, much as one would find at an ER. Between the lot of the staff back there, I was well cared for and made to feel comfortable. All of 'em from Sandi (RN) to Dave (nurse anesthesiologist) plus others before during and after were professional and caring. They went over my med history more than once to be thorough and make sure nothing was anomalous. So I woke up and it was almost as tho nothing happened (yay, pentathol!) during the hour and change that I was back there. They also took care to make sure I was okay before letting me get dressed and moving along for the day. I was escorted out by one of the staff and I'm told I gotta repeat the process in three years. Well, I'm in no hurry for the time to pass to this business again. However, were one to ask and if given the choice, I'd certainly have no problem using (or reusing, at least) this facility at all. So after making a few u-turns, we finally arrived. She was one of the first patients and was taken back almost immediately after checking in. This center doesn't allow family/friends to come back with you before your procedure. I know this bothered my grandmother, and I heard others complain about it as well. However, there are no private rooms. Everyone is brought into what looks like a small version of a hospital surgical recovery room, taken to surgery from that room, and then are brought back to that very spot for recovery, consult, and release. Really, that would be my only complaint about the whole experience. I was called back once my grandmother had woke. While we waited for the doctor to finish a procedure he'd begun on another patient, I could hear everything other doctors and nurses were telling every patient in the room. I'm pretty surprised this isn't considered some sort of privacy violation. Otherwise, all the nurses and staff that were involved with my grandmothers care were fantastic. Everyone was extremely caring, friendly, and even hospitable. I was even brought coffee and asked a few times if I wanted anything more to drink or a snack while we waited. My grandmother has been to this location a few times with my grandfather and says they are always very nice and several of the nurses have been there a long time.
