Over the course of time, she changed doctors a number of times, based on what insurance she had at the time. Then, one day, we found Dr. Serneels. After that, my wife would always make sure her insurance plan was one which Dr. Serneels office (now affiliated with Optum) accepted. My wife told me, if we ever moved from the Tampa area, we'd have to live near the Interstate, so we could come back to Tampa for her appointments, because she was not going to see another doctor. Dr. Serneels was EASILY the most knowledgeable, caring, and personable doctor either of us had EVER seen. She and her entire staff were far and away the best at what they did, of any doctor's office we had ever seen. If my wife had a health issue, Dr. Serneels could order the right tests and take the right steps to pin it down, even if it was something obscure. Her insight, intuition, and the scope of her knowledge (even extending to medical specialties) were stunning, at times. Everyone in her office REALLY cares, on a personal level, about their patients. My wife passed very suddenly in 2020, from COVID, despite us taking every precaution. Dr. Serneels and her staff went out of their way to let me know how her death had impacted them, and to offer thier condolences.
