Fortunately, catching some rays has never been my thing. But that doesn't mean you cannot get skin cancer. It just means you have a reduced exposure. My doctor is Melissa Sirichotiratana, who is very diligent and thorough professional. If you haven't seen you Dermatologist lately, give them a call.

Pretty disappointed with my experience here. As soon as I walked in there, no one seemed to understand that I was there to get my Accutane refilled. They almost sent me home with the idea that I would need to restart my prescription, before I corrected them on what my situation was. I spent three months here, and then I transferred back to my home state. I signed a release of records form and handed it to the front desk lady before leaving on my last appointment. Now I'm getting notice that my dermatologist has not received any information from the Murrieta center about my progress, so I call and explain the situation--the first girl tells me she will call back in the morning after she speaks to the Oceanside center. The next girl I have to call (because I never received a call back) says there is no notes of any call I have, and that I have not submitted a release of records form. Very frustrating considering this should have been done a month ago, and she tells me the only way to get the information is to have my current provider fax them. Glad to be back to my original dermatologist, because this was not a good experience.

The rudest conversation with a receptionist:…read more "Hi, I was referred to Dr. Radentz for Pemphigus, I heard he specialized in treatment for it. I also have *insurance name* and wanted to double check you guys accepted them." Receptionist: "Ummm...no...I don't know. That's not my job I answer phones." I asked, "Okay, could you ask someone who might know? I just need to make sure before I make an appointment." "No the doctors are their lunch break. Bye." "Wait, could you take my number and have someone call me back?" "No, that's not my job. I don't take numbers. I answer phones. Bye." Click. Seriously?! How does this doctor even get patients with such rude staff? I don't know if she's new or something but I had to go to a different doctor. Ridiculous.

So many of my assignments took me to areas in the world where the sun was blistering hot: 2 and half years in Viet Nam, 3 years in Japan, and perhaps toughest of all on my skin was 11 years in Albuquerque, which has an altitude of 5200 feet. Even before I left the service, I had surgery on my arm for basal cell carcinoma. I had many visits with civilian dermatologists and VA doctors who specialized in skin cancer. Without question, Dr. William Radentz proved to me to be the best M.D., specialist that has treated me in this most critical area. I have been under his care for the last 15 years and considering that my health insurance - - Tricare for Life - - permits me to be treated at any medical facility or doctor in the U.S., I feel I am totally satisfied with Dr. Radentz's services. When I retired from the Air Force, I was under care at the VA Medical Center, Loma Linda and later by a "skin doctor" in Menifee. My skin problems on my neck and chest were only getting worse. And just by chance, and wanting a third opinion, I had Dr. Radentz give me a very thorough exam. On the back of my neck and on my chest he took specimens and examined them at his office (Moh's surgery). I have no doubt without Dr. Radentz expertise in diagnosing and treating me, there would have been serious consequences. The professionalism I have seen in my many visits to his office will keep me going to that office as long as Dr. Radentz continues to practice there. Not only is he a fine M.D. but he and his wife are fine human beings: they know how to relate to their patients.
