I am leaving 5 stars because I do think it's a nice place and I've seen a few doctors here that have been pleasant but I'm leaving a review because I had an unpleasant experience with Yasmin. I saw her because I suspected I had rosacea. When I came in, she had asked me about my ethnicity. Which took me off guard, after telling her, she gave me a weird look. And it made me feel uncomfortable, then asked about my concerns. I explained, and all she did was then ask me "why do you think you have rosacea?" I said I had been doing some research, and she pretty much scuffed at me and said that wasn't good enough. Anyways, a few months later I did get a diagnosis from another doctor that I indeed have rosacea. Yasmin did not look closely at my skin, or ask any following questions. Wanted to make an appointment for a consultation which I was told was 50$. They told me someone would get back to me to schedule an appointment but they never did. Then I was at the office for something unrelated so I decided to ask about it at the checkout desk. The women I spoke with was very rude and unhelpful. Could not give me any info at all unless I came in for just a consult which now I was told was $100. $100 just to find out how much filler costs and what different kinds they have. Really turned off by the experience. If ur looking for this type of service, I recommend Renuance or Izzy at dr. Newsman's office, they are much friendlier and helpful. Consults are free. They throughly explain what you have, what you need to do and how they will do it. They are very caring and have excellent skills and procedures. While receiving injections, they distract you by patting you on the shoulder (and it works). During the procedure, the doctor is talking with you to distract you from what is occurring. Not going back there again. Very young asian doctor Sirichotiratana who I saw 3 times, had long nails that dug into my scalp when she checked my scalp, I felt very uncomfortable having her do biopsy on me. She is not professional, we had a hard time communicating, she seems to talk very fast like a robot all the time. I didn't understand half of the thing she was saying. I apologize for not understanding and asked to speak slowly but she showed irritation with a noticable sigh, made me feel very anxious, she seems to be a heartless person. Dr. Melissa Sirichotiratana's assistant was very sweet and got me finished with last minute questions and made me feel very comfortable. Shortly after Dr. Siri arrived. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!! There are so many issues with this dermatology office and here's why: If you like only being able to book appointments 6 months out, then this dermatologist office is for you. Otherwise, don't hold your breath trying to be seen earlier. I get how getting appointments to be seen by primary care doctors are months out but for a dermatologist, this is ridiculous!! I've called SEVERAL times each month to see if there have been any cancellations so I can be seen earlier and never once have there been a cancellation. I guess that makes sense when appointments are scheduled 6 months out so patients don't want to risk cancelling and waiting another 6 months to be seen. But still, you would think there are still a cancellation here or there. What makes it hilarious is that they told me after my first visit in January that appointments are scheduled a few weeks out. LOL what a joke! I had booked the January appointment back in September!! The receptionist informed me that patients using insurance are only seen on certain days of the week. What kind of medical office runs their business like this? So patients using insurance have to wait even longer because this office only schedules those kind of appointments on certain days of the week. So they cater more towards their self pay patients where they don't have to work through insurance. Sounds about par for a shady business. I arrived to my appointment 15 minutes early and people who arrived AFTER me was called in before me?? Someone was still filling out paperwork and they were called in before me. So they punish their patients who actually take their appointments seriously and arrive on time. HA! I was referred to Dermatologist Specialists from my primary care doctor/insurance but after just two visits (1st one was a consultation, 2nd was an actual visit seen by the doctor), I am requesting a different dermatology office. I had to go to a different dermatologist and was seen THREE times in between the two appointments I had here from January to September. Booking appointments shouldn't be this difficult. I was able to get an appointment within the week or so instead of 6 months out. So do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Look at the other reviews too, this place needs to re-evaluate their business model. read more

I saw Dr. Siri a couple of years ago. I highly recommend her and I apologize for not writing this review sooner because she was super helpful in fixing basal cell carcinomas on my face. This is the message I sent to the office after my initial experience with them. "I just called to make an appointment as a new patient and I do not approve of the receptionist or operator throwing in an option to see a physician's assistant....I specifically asked to see a doctor.....I find this unacceptable and hopefully you evaluate the way you handle patients who request to see a physician... The operator asked me what insurance I had and when I told her it was an Aetna PPO, she then gave me an option to see a physician's assistant. With a PPO, I do not expect to be treated as if I have an HMO...Bad experience!" read more

Lack of communication between scheduling and physicians. I asked the Dr. Scirichotiratana three times about a removal of a dime size cyst. She said to schedule it with the front desk. I scheduled the appointment. They called two days before saying the Dr. would not be in and reschedule. I rescheduled as requested. Another phone call to confirm what I was coming in for? I replied the cyst removal. The reply was that it was a 10 minute appointment and wasn't enough time. Also the Dr. was not willing to do the removal. I asked if another Dr. could do it? They said no and wanted to refer it out. I since have seen another dermatologist and have the removal scheduled soon. And dermspec manager don't send your canned reply to contact you to discuss further. Your office was given many attempts to remedy the issues and nobody took responsibility for the issues I do commend the person that contacted me to work things out she was professional and communicated well. Questions asked are answered completely and treatment applied explained in advance with follow up if necessary. Excellent record keeping of treatment program . Support staff friendly too Reception area large enough and front desk and checkout are proficient and and courtesy. No long lines to wait and appointment timing managed well. Seen in very reasonable time and not rushed Office temperatures comfortable and plenty of parking too. Located adjacent to hospital in medical building. Over charging on pre- insurance authorization and having to delay cancer treatment due to patient coming up with money to cover my part, then come to find out a few months later my insurance covered most. (Unbelievable) It was the authorization department & office error. One of many errors they have at this place. Took my skin cancer issues to another dermatologist where Im actually treated & the front staff is actually pleasant. Yasmin Anwar was pretty awesome. I had a skin condition that bothered me for over a year. After seeing several doctors she seemed interested in solving my problem. After a couple of visits my skin problem was no longer a problem! She knows what she is doing. She listens to you and listens closely. Most doctors seem to want to push you through the system because there are so many people in SoCal that need healthcare. Yasmin has been doing this for a while and it's clear she cares about her career and performance for her patients. I can't say enough about her. She is very friendly and professional. I've had MOHS surgical procedures two times for very small and manageable basal cell cancer spots, and the doctor who does those is great! I was not happy with this place at all. First off I received three text messages confirming my appt. One voicemail and I even called back to personally confirm my appt. Not once was there ever a mask to be worn mentioned. I showed up at my appt. and as soon I I walked in I was looked at like I was the devil. I was asked by the unfriendly brown haired women with the glasses if I had an appt. and Do I have a mask. There was no smile and no hello. I stated no I didn't know I need one. She handed me one and told me to fill out paperwork. The wait was a typical Dr. office wait. As i sat in the private room waiting for the Dr. I could hear the back desk staff gossiping, laughing and being totally unprofessional. The disgusting part was the conversation of two women one sayin she saw an animal being cut in half with a machete watching its eyes and blood splattering everywhere with the other woman laughing. Absolutely cruel and disgusting. I was not purposely listening to their conversation, they were loud and outside my door. Seriously, Save your personal conversations to your breaks and away from patients. I saw Dr. Suri.(Suri) For short. I found it strange that they are all about the mask but not about hand washing. There are no gloves even in the office and the Dr. just used a pump of hand sanitizer before touching all over my face. She was ok. Younger and didn't explain things very well. What had me confused was she told me she could scrap my skin mark It would leave a scar. I asked if she could freeze it off instead and she said no it would leave a scar. So what's the difference? Also how can the Dr. fully exam your face when you have to wear a mask? They can't. This appt. was a total waste of time and money. I will not be back and I don't recommend it. read more

This office is everything that is wrong with corporate medicine. I have two very small Basal Cell Carcinoma's in my chest. Approximately 6 inches apart. Completely covered by insurance but Dermatology Specialists treats me like an account instead of a patient and won't treat them unless I book separate appointments on separate days. Insurance will pay for both spots, but they know they can get more for separate appointments. So I have to take two days off for two surgeries and then recover two separate times because it makes their bottom line look a little better. Go somewhere else. read more

I would give this office a ZERO if it were an option. They were rude on the phone and rude when I arrived. They don't care about helping you, their main concern is that you wear a MUZZLE. I was cancelled on the spot by the obnoxious and loud office manager, so I have no idea how the physicians or nurses are. I imagine they aren't any better than the murderous doctors at the medical center across the parking lot. It took me 1 day to find a doctor who doesn't insist on face muzzles. If you are treated poorly by staff, chances are you will be treated poorly by the doctors and nurses as well. Stop letting people treat you poorly and seek out ethical physicians. read more

I first saw Yasmin with a rough patch on my palm, dry flaky and a red raised bump dead center on my right hand she took a biopsy and told me that the red bump in the center of my right hand was a ganglion and she's not in orthopedic so I need to go see an orthopedic about it. The results came back as spongiotic dermatitis. She called over some cream and I was so put off by her snotty attitude that that was a ganglion and not something that I had seen move from below my baby finger to the center of my hand. I did not even try the Medicean. Yasmin I am sure you are a nice person or maybe you are a snot, but you were very unkind and surely do not know your stuff. Then I am asked to come back and do testing of chemicals on my back. I don't know the name of the PA that started the testing But the conclusions were very unsure and you gave me the name of the chemical that you thought I was allergic to and sent me on my way. I'm not a chemist, but I started asking for material data sheets on just about everything I was using wasting months of time trying to figure out what this chemical wise. Please don't ever do that to another person again. Do not test them and send them off with a name of something that they're not qualified nor you young lady to Diagnose. The red bump was large by then and moving to under my thumb. I found another Derm who tested me and it came out spongiotic dermatitis. Six weeks ago tumors started developing on my hand my arms in my leg. I have cancer that has no cure. That red bump on my Hand was not a ganglion, well it was cancer and you brushed me off. I am not allergic to any chemicals. You wasted my time. My hand is filled with tumors. Not that little red bump but tumors, five of them and it hurts and they're raised in their red and I bump into them and they bleed. The next time you're snippy or you send someone out with a name of a chemical think again, think of the woman who now sits facing an curable cancer and tumors on the outside of my body that I cannot hide at times, skin that is so fragile from all the Meds I put on my body my skin tears if you touch me. I wish I could attach photos so you could see what you could have helped me at least get under control. Be kinder to patients and for once think outside the box. And never give anybody a list of chemicals that you are not prepared to give lists and lists of products that could contain that chemical. Do not go here. read more

I'm Concerned. I have an appointment here next week with this office. I have read so many negative reviews. Now at this moment. I'm feeling a bit apprehensive. Everything that people have been notating. Are legitimate, many serious serious concerns. I mean everything seems credible Besides that one lady that spoke of muzzles In which took her credibility out the window. But I do have some concerns. I really hope that this office gets their act together because there should be No comments that are negative only compliments. I see that the Office responds In very generic words In which they probably copied and pasted instead of relating authentically to each individuals concerns rather then passively push people on especially Because their maintenance on this portal is sporadic and not consistent. Sometimes there is offices In the medical field with large Amounts of untrained people They always seem to have very little interest in the field that they Pick for a career and Usually when questioned, their guard goes up. I went in, through a Kaiser referral, for a full body skin cancer check. The NP that checked me was very thorough and did find 2 spots that she biopsied right away. Everyone from the front desk to the NP and assistant were nothing but kind to me. They answered all of my questions and also contacted Kaiser for a 2nd referral to recheck the areas biopsied. The staff was kind and smiled (they look like they love their jobs), they were knowledgeable and on time. The provider was also knowledgeable, was easy to speak with and gentle and quick with the procedure. I haven't felt this way about a doctor's office in years. I initially reached out because Dr. Thiele had great reviews. Turns out Dr. Thiele falls under Derm Specialist which apparently I had gone to a couple years or so back. Experience with the team before was great. My recent visit was great. However, post visit is a different story. Not sure if this has anything to do with COVID, but I have been waiting just for a quick update on an authorization to see if they submitted or not for a biopsy. No answer. Never got a hold of a live person. I left multiple voicemails over the course of a few weeks to which I got no reply. I got one missed call from them but they left no voicemail and when I tried to call shortly after again it went to their voicemail. Left a voicemail once again and still no reply. While I get the challenges the new norm presents for their operations, a simple text, or call would do. Many patients come in for fear of cancer which some could be used quickly spreading. I suspect that employees themselves if faced with the same worry or possibility would not be so laxed or be more frustrated than I am If they were experiencing the same level of courtesy. read more

I never write reviews but was so frustrated I had to. I accessed their on-line appointment center to request an appointment. Three days later I had not heard back. I called the office to make an appointment and was put on hold for over 20 minutes at which time I hung up and called back thinking I had gotten lost in the system some how. I was asked to be put on hold again at which time I told them "not if it is going to be another 20 minutes". The operator stated that I had had 2 calls ahead of me which is why it had been so long and before I could say anything she put me on hold again! Maybe once you get an appointment they are good but not even attempting again as I am afraid I would spend hours in the waiting room once I got in! read more
