I am very impressed with Dr.Thiele. I was recently diagnosed with a Melanoma on my back leg. They then scheduled me to see Dr. Thiele for a pre-op appointment and also to perform the surgery. He had an excellent bedside manner and I felt that he was very thorough and also compassionate and kind. It is not the most pleasant experience to be sitting there while you know that they are cutting your leg open, even if it doesn't hurt. He was very good at talking to me and distracting me during the whole experience. I also liked his Physicians Assistant and the other support staff that worked with me. Melanoma is especially scary since it is so deadly. Having a kind and intelligent doctor really helps. It does seem to be a rare combination, so when you actually witness it first-hand it is truly awesome. :) Also, I might add that so far my incision looks BEAUTIFUL. * one little recommendation for the support staff though. It would be awesome to have some kind of patient education materials to give those being diagnosed with melanoma. This would include diagnosis information as well as surgical after-care instructions. read more

He treated me like I was special needs until he found out I had a boyfriend. I felt so hurt by how he interacted with me that I refuse to ever see him again. He didn't even properly remove the small wart growth I had despite his ridiculous arrogance. I can't even give him credit for getting the job done. read more

Really enjoy visiting this office. Very impressed with all the staff, they are very compassionate towards my husband. My husband has very bad skin cancer and the doctor is very gentle during the Moh's surgery as he will need extensive care and we feel very confident in Dr Thiel to get him in better shape. We have visited so many other dermatologists and have never gotten the attention like we have from this office. Yesterday, I had MOHS surgery preformed by Dr. Thiele, on a large scalp basal cell carcinoma. I had put off seeing a doctor and any thought of surgery for 2.5 years of what I now know was a fear of the unknown more than anything else. What a fool I've been! The whole process with Dr. Thiele was completely positive. The surgery went as I had been advised. I have had zero pain or bleeding post op and feel 100% better because the cancer has been removed. I can't recommend anyone more than I do Dr. Thiele for MOHS surgery. read more

Maybe he is a good Dermatologist to other people but he gave me the impression of a Dr. peddling for a Pharmaceutical Rep. I made an appointment to see this dermatologist and it was also my first visit. I had down loaded the required forms from their website and filled them out before hand. But even so it still took about 45 minutes from the time i signed it to when i was admitted into a room and finally got to see Dr. Thiele. The whole consultation took no more than 15 minutes including the time Dr. Thiele spent coming and out of the room a few times and having a couple of prescription written out. My biggest disappointment in the visit was the fact that he didn't really listen to a word I had said about my problem. It felt like I was rushed out of there. He brushed off half the questions and concerns i had (which are now becoming a bigger problem). I wanted to specifically get a prescription I've used in the past because it works for me and it's affordable (Clindamycin Phosphate 1.2% lotion $15 with copay). Instead he insisted that i try (went as far as saying his wife also uses it) and gave me a Ziana prescription which (no more than 20 min. after I left the Derm's office) i later found out at the pharmacy that it cost $400.00 and was not covered by my insurance (Most Dr.'s would know this and will let their patients know). Ziana is topical gel/lotion containing Clindamycin Phosphate 1.2% and Tretinoin 0.025%. I called his office instantly (spoke to a front office staff) and asked to speak to an assistant/nurse stating my problem, I was transfered to the voicemail. I called again asking to speak with a person not a voicemail and i was told that Dr. Thiele and his staff are not available because they are in surgery. So I left an unhappy message. Well.....thinking to myself, that's probably why i was rushed out of there in no time. He had bigger fish to fry and more money to charge. To Dr. Thiele's credit, his nurse did call me back after 20 minutes and I was able to insist that they just give me what i asked for in the first place. Which he did. After further research i found out that he could have written me a prescripton for Clindamycin Phosphate 1.2% and Tretinoin 0.025% as two seperate prescriptions for $15.00 each with copay :-) read more

The previous Tuesday I had the Blue Light treatment on the top of my head and then one week later, same time, same place I had the same treatment applied to my face. Professionals such as this team, do wonders with their skills and knowledge. I have had this treatment twice a year for four years and I'm in such good shape with cancer control only because of this "A" Team. 2. I just had a Basal Cell Carcinoma removed from my "eyelid" by Dr Thiele via Mohs surgery. I have to say although the process was a bit scary as it was right under my eye, Dr Thiele was very skillful and had excellent technique. He made me feel like I was his only patient with the utmost care, concern, compassion, and patience during the procedure although he had to go back 4 times due to the depth of the cancer ( not his fault ). The nature of Mohs is that on each pass you take the least amount of tissue necessary to get clear margins from the cancer. He was so sensitive to my well being and comfort and explained everything he was doing along the way which did a lot to allay my fears. He placed the stitches in a place where they would make the least impact and his sure handedness contributed to my having a very faint scar and this all happened only 5 weeks ago. His Medical Assistants were excellent too in giving me the most personal care I could hope for. I felt very well taken care during the whole 3-4 hour process. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Thiele's for the past 3 years and highly recommend him as a dermatologist. I've had trouble with acne all through high school and college and have seen numerous dermatologists and estheticians and tried almost everything (including proactiv) over the years but nothing worked and I was starting to get desperate. Dr. Thiele has been the only dermatologist to actually clear up my acne and I am SO thankful! During the consultation, Dr. Thiele took the time to listen to my concerns about wanting a non-antibiotic topical medication and prescribed exactly what I was looking for. He even gave me an instant savings card to ensure I would have minimal out of pocket expenses in case the medication wasn't covered by my insurance. The prescription was only $25. I've also seen him for several chemical peels after the acne cleared up to help make the hyperpigmentation on my face fade away faster and am happy with the results. The peels are definitely effective and Dr. Thiele made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process as the chemical peels (these are the real deal, not the wimpy kind you get during facials at a spa) aren't the most pleasant experience in the world. As for bedside manner, I'd say he's one of the most caring and professional doctors I've met, and I've had my fair share of doctors visits having had treatment for several -itises and second degree burns. read more

I had a large skin cancer on my nose and was so scared to have it treated that I waited for almost 6 months... until I finally heard from my neighbors about Dr. Thiele. They told me he has a great reputation in town so I made an appointment. I was not disappointed. He appeared very knowledgeable and already has done thousands of Mohs surgeries for skin cancers in the face. His excellent bedside manner and friendly personality made me feel much more comfortable already during the consultation. The last two Tuesday's at 9 have I had the Blue Light treatment, one on my face and the next Tuesday I had the treatment on the top of my head. Both nurses and technicians were the utmost professionals. The first treatment was performed by nurse Jackie and technician Ms. Cassy. The next treatment was performed by nurse Ms. Beatriz and technician Mr. Troy. Both were very educated and customer service friendly. The procedure was conducted so very professional that the pain experience was a 4 on a scale of 10. My recovery and healing are going quite nicely. Plenty of moisture necessary and some hot spots but that is expected. I have had these treatments every six months for four years. I'm quite comfortable with Doctor 'T' treatment of my skin cancer.
