A phone representative had told me that my medicaid would cover what I needed done. I even explained in detail- I had some skin tags that needed to be removed. "It was a sham" After filling out all the paper work & time spent to see the Doctor, they told me it would cost $200.00 per skin tag removal. Whey did you not tell me this before my appointment in the office at the desk and after I was told over the phone my Insurance would pay for it! I would have never gone to Advanced Dermatology 200 Southpark Blvd St Augustine Beach FL 32086! My referral was even sent from my PCP What a Disappointment. Let the Truth be Told.. I arrived 15 min early and I had to wait 20 min past my apt time to be called back for my scheduled apt. I spoke to other patients in the waiting room and 6 of us were scheduled for the same time slot! Also the waiting room looks run down and gross. i do judge an office by the appearance of their wait room. The fabric is ripped on almost every chair and there are pamphlets all over the place trying to sell cash services and products. read more

I tried to like this practice and provider and stuck in for several visits. But compared to previous dermatologists and a subsequent one that I have visited this was miserable in comparison. The full body "scans" seemed in my opinion more like "skims" looking for opportunities to spray nitrogen and rack up charges. A melanoma was found only because I pointed out the problem area to the provider. Subsequent Mohs surgery was okay. Their business practices suck in my opinion. Each visit they took money up front and after the visit. I eventually found out they were carrying a positive balance of several hundred dollars on my account. When botox is administered it is best done by a skilled,, experienced provider. "A slight miscalculation, like making the injection too low in the forehead muscle, can cause eyelid drooping after Botox." ( Quoting manufacturer). Having received 40 units of botox many times over the course of years, I had Dr G at this office inject the recommended 50 units. The number of injections, and the time it took was way too few. After a week people started asking why I was scowling. When I had a good look in the mirror, I saw the problem. My left lid was drooping! On my recheck visit w Advanced Dermatology, I mentioned the problem. Dr Genebriera tried ( unsuccessfully) to bullshit me using anatomical, and medical terms. Worse, he tried to convince me the drooping was not there. Right. I spent over 30 years as a Nurse before retiring to Fla. I don't know everything. I know when my eyelid is obscuring my vision. Only with insistence repeating that I did have an eyelid droop, I finally got this problem addressed. I got a script for eyedrops that that help with....eyelid droop after an ERROR with botox injection! Yes, the drooping will resolve. Usually in a couple weeks. The exam, after a small "fatty" bump was removed from my right eyebrow took no more than 30 seconds of so. To the best of my knowledge the top of my head was not inspected nor were my legs or the insides of my arms....not sure about the outside of my arms. Since I have twice had basal cell cancer removed from my neck and nose I expected a rather complete examination. But perhaps PA Mendoza is so good that she can tell if one has a problem without doing a complete examination? Once she entered the room all was done within 5 minutes. And, if I had known that I would be seeing a PA rather than an MD I would not have made the appointment. I've had dermatology examinations on other occasions so I am not speaking as a "first timer". I would never return to that clinic nor any other Advanced Dermatology clinic. read more

I called and made an appointment a week ago, provided my insurance information at that time , I was all set to go today. I received a call and email a half hour before my appointment saying they do not take my insurance. Very unprofessional! They were going to charge me for a missed appointment. Morning of Christmas eve had surgery to remove cancerous tissue on chest. Given information on after care and after hours number. In late afternoon excessive bleeding began . Took appropriate measures to stop bleeding. Called after hours number, recording stated return call in 30 minutes. No return call after 3 hours. At 3 am ended up in emergency room in order to stop bleeding. It is now Tuesday after Christmas eve and still no return call! I am seeking legal advice. read more

Back again this year. Saw a NP who did a great upper body check and found 6-7 spots to freeze off.

Dr Genebrers and staff are professional, courteous and expedient. They have proven to be first class in St. Augustine.

This is the most unprofessional medical office I have ever encountered. Dr's body check was a joke...I've had dozens and dozens as I am fair and freckled...calves, arms and upper back only. Office staff was curt and condescending. INSISTED I pay on the spot despite being told my insurance would pay. Rude staff checked with internal billing dept ( not my insurance company) and both were wrong. I know my insurance, I was the person who negotiated and managed our corporate plan prior to retirement. Insurance paid in a matter of days (billing dept said it would take a month), I have been calling daily to get refunded, and I'm still waiting. Stay away from this office unless you enjoy being treated poorly. read more

I called central scheduling and was able to get a same day appointment after getting a fairly deep cat scratch on my cheek. Dr. Genebriera and a staff member were kind and efficient. He recommended a few stitches to help minimize scarring, which they did just a few minutes later in the office. Although the numbing process and stitches were not pleasant they did a fantastic job. They moved quickly and helped keep me calm and comfortable. He addressed possible infection with antibiotics, recommended a scar cream, and even made skin care recommendations for my recurring breakouts. The stitches were removed just 6 days later and I have never been so happy that I called! The scar looks amazing! AND They were respectful of my insurance being out of network and worked with me to keep costs down! read more

I've been going there for 8 years and the last visit I had was on 07/02/19. Dr ordered new scripts and sent them to the specialty pharmacy ($0 co-pay) and I'm still waiting for them. Left at least 4 messages for the Saint Augustine location's coordinator and not 1 return call. Good place to see the doctor as long as you don't need any prescriptions. read more
