I went to the office on us 1 in at. Augustine yesterday. I had an appointment to have steroid shots. i called them first...they have artificial intelligence answer the phone! you are not allowed to talk to a human!! it took me 20 minutes, I finally spoke with someone who confirmed my appointment, when I arrived there I was told to fill out forms I already did twice online! took 20 minutes of my time. they took me into the office and told me Sorry.....they couldn't do the procedure because the doctor was not there! I WAITED 45 MINUTES FOR. NOTHING. THEY WERE ALL LIKE. ROBOTS! HAD NO CARING OR EMPATHY , DIDNT CARE ABOUT WASTING MY TIME! I WOULD NEVER SUGGEST ANYONE EVER GO TO SE ORTHOPEDIST! I was in a wheelchair and Dr Roettges performed my hip surgery. I am so grateful. His office follows up and is so attentive to your needs.

Great experience with this office and a very competent Dr. Lampley. The medical practice could use a different office location with a bigger lobby and better parking. There is a receptionist that could use some people skills, maybe she was stressed because of a tech glitch with her computer. The great care provided makes up for it. Obviously people that are coming to the doctor are already somewhat stressed out and the first person they see when they check in makes a difference. Keep up the good care and thank you. read more

Nothing good to say about this place. Administration is horrendous, issues with correct billing, lost x ray disc, flubbed request to send data to my primary care doc; only partial docs sent. Care: C- Many promises related to pain care over 3 months; none of predicted outcomes came to fruition; have now gone elsewhere and gotten results for my pain issues. Dr David Remias is a great doctor, however, the way that SOS deal with insurance and clients is terrible. I am struggling to resolve a claim, which I have been charged by the provider due to their lack of competence or communication from the staff to meet the insurance requirements. SOS failed to provide the necessary documentation to the insurance. I contacted the billing office for a couple of times and none of them gave me a consistent information or even tried to get back to the insurance to resolve the problem. Besides, the other physical therapies requested by the SOS were also denied, as well as the MRI, by the insurance due to the notes not being consistent to prove the need. Unfortunately, I still suffer from pain, as a result of incomplete treatment, and a bill to pay due to unresolved issue between insurance and provider. read more

Strictly review of records/front desk at St Augustine physician office. Had imaging done in office. Requested images. Charged $30. Crazy to be charged for something you and your insurance paid for. However, I needed them so I paid it. Front desk is never very friendly. And it took over a week and repeated calls just to get the copy of images. read more

I had shoulder surgery completed 3 weeks ago and am now getting a $1500 undisclosed bill I have tried calling to discuss this but am met with terrible customer service and no care or empathy that there is a billing mistake. On 3 occasions I have had awful customer service while either calling these people or standing in front of them. It's a shame that a good surgeon's name is tarnished by horrible customer service!!!!!! read more

They advertise that they specialize in on the job injuries. Unfortunately, can't get anyone to get any paperwork done. I've been trying for nearly a month to get the proper forms filled out for me to get paid while I'm off work. Nobody gives the same answer. Lady today told me it wasn't likely to get approved, only seen the department of labor get authorization for PT. I've wasted a month waiting on these people to figure out what's going on. Nobody seems to care. Nobody seems to hold anyone accountable. Customer service is zero, which is too bad. I liked the doctor and the PA. read more

Had my hip replaced about May of last year . Was seeing them soon to get hip checked as I have been getting pain again however I get a phone call saying they no longer take my insurance ! I am in the middle of treatment and was hoping to find out why hip is hurting again . I have now been dumped , at least they could have checked my out even if I was not covered .Is money all that matters to them So disappointed in this office , I would have paid rather than have to find another ortho specialist to fix whatever problem has developed with my hip . read more

I had my 1st theropy session scheduled today, in St Augustine . I was scheduled for treatment at 1pm, 8/24/23, Arrived at 12:55 filled out papers which were returned to the desk at 1:05pm. The receptionist came to where I was seated and stated that they were busy, and would I expand my days for follow-up visits. Initially I wrote that I'm available Tuesday and Thursdays. I added Friday to this list. At1:30 I went to the receptionist and indicated I am waiting for my session to begin. She initially informed me that there had been an insurance issue earlier. She then went into the treatment room and informed me that he had another person being treated. I requested her to cancel my appointment. While waiting no employee of this firm made any attempt to inform me of the delay. -1 read more

I have used Southeast Orthopedic Specialists for various problems I have with arthritis & other things. I recently had a procedure done with Dr. Gooding and all I can say is he is awesome!! Another place I went to would put me under anesthetic for everything & Dr. Gooding did the procedure practically pain free with only a local. Great Doctor!! Christine Chapman is the best receptionist ever! This is a super busy office & she always keeps her cool, makes sure every patient is taken care off & never rushes you through. This sweet lady deserves a raise & special recognition!! read more

I went to check my knee with in the Saint Augustine location and when I arrived Kurtis Hort showed up and said last minute he's covering (originally scheduled with a different doctor) He talked fast, didn't take his time and explained, didn't ask if I have any questions and was done within 10 minutes. I did an MRI and was told I need a follow up visit, when I went he walked in for 2 minutes and referred me to another doctor. Waste of time and since he referred me at-least take the time and courtesy to explain and not 2 minutes. Definitely not personable read more

I think the specialists are terrific! Very caring and helpful: both the nurse practitioner Ashton Phillips and physical therapists. Ashton was especially helpful and it was much appreciated. I recommend these professionals. The only reason I took away one star is because I'd like to give the Physical Therapy desk associate one star. She had some kind of unhelpful attitude. When our physical therapy was scheduled on dates for several weeks in advance, she printed up a sheet that didn't list all of the appointments. When I asked for the rest of the dates she said the program only prints the first page and she didn't want to print that second page, and told me I could find out about those dates later(?) Since I travel for work I need to plan these dates weeks in advance but she was bent on not printing that second page. So I ended up getting the dates from the Physical Therapist. Then, the Physical Therapist noticed a gap of 2 wks in the therapy and said that wasn't optimal so he asked the same desk person why the gap... and she said something about expecting a delay in Medicare authorization for the PT that first week in the New Year because they sometimes delay authorization. But Medicare wasn't our insurance! The PT told us to check with her on the way out and try to clear it up and get on the schedule because he was "wide open" the week of New Year's. On the way out I told her our insurance wan't Medicare, but a private company and she said, well, anyway that company, too, might delay authorization for the PT at the beginning of the yr. so she didn't want to schedule an appointment for that week. I said the PT told us it wasn't good to go 2 wks without an appt, and though I was sure our insurance would authorize it, I said we could pay cash out of pocket to get the appointment. She still wouldn't let us make the appt! She said she didn't know if we could pay cash, and she'd have to check with a manager and left it at that. So I asked how we would be able to find out if we could have that appt. after she checked with a manager and she said she would contact us. She never did and now-- here we are skipping PT for 2 wks. Is she really leaving a whole staff of PTs unscheduled and idle for a week when there are patients who would pay cash for their services? I don't get it. read more

I had ligament repair surgery on my right ankle in August 2016. The surgeon, Dr. Kurtis Hort, medically did an excellent job. ... I have continued care for nerve issues due to knee and ankle issues, and fellow foot doctor Beth Pearce is managing my care and rehabilitation. It's a wonderful facility with great doctors, but unfortunately as much as I love their practice it's the most inconvenient place to go to. Appointments cancelled without you knowing that they did, and lack of communication between the staff. It's incredibly difficult to get a response back when it's urgent, and wants me to pay for another appointment for a note. When working was detrimental to my health to begin with. Orthopaedic Associates of St. Augustine has phenomenal patient/customer service and this most certainly includes Cathy and all of the front desk staff. Everyone is always super friendly, goes out of their way to help patients, and truly care about us personally and physically. The doctors and all of the people working in the checkout reception areas, etc are super helpful and kind. Dr. Haycook went out of his way and even consulted with Dr. Pearce to get some help in getting answers for my neuropathy. Dr. Hort was helpful a few weeks later when I unfortunately fractured my foot in addition. I deeply appreciate all of the ongoing help and would highly recommend. My husband recommended this place via Dr. Grimes whom he knows through church, and I have been very pleased with all of their help and timely appointments and the time spent with me to help ascertain my initial stenosis and neuropathy causes. Thank you so much, kudos to Cathy at the front desk- she should be employee of the month! Stayed late on her birthday to ensure I got what I needed. THAT's customer service!! read more

Dr. Sina Kasraeian is an amazing physician and surgeon. Anthony Collins in their physical therapy department is also great. I had to see both of them for over a year for my bad arm break and they got my bone fixed and my range of motion back better than I feel another pair of professionals may have been able to. Let me preface this stating that my in office experiences have been very good. My first visit to this practice was 7 years ago and I have been back several times since. That being said, my most recent experience trying to get a response from office staff has been very disappointing at best. The condensed version is that I hat 3 recent appointments for pain in my hip. I received a shot in my hip that did not help. The PA said he was going to request an MRI through my insurance. I received 2 separate letters from my insurance company stated basically that I did not receive any treatment at the office and that the doctor did not state the reason for the MRI. Copies of these letters were sent to the doctor. Starting on 07/02/19 I sent 4 emails through the "Patient Portal" to the Physicians's "Team" describing the discrepancy between what occurred at my appointments and what the insurance company said did not. I received one response stating the office manager would contact me. This never happened. I called the office on 07/26/19 and left a message with "Billing" because the phone menu offers no method to speak to office staff with just a question. The woman in Billing did return my call 4 days later and connected me with another woman in the office. She reviewed my emails and the letters to the physician and agreed there was something wrong. She told me that she would have the woman in MRI Authorizations contact me. This also never happened. I called the office again on 08/02/19 and managed to get connected to MRI Authorizations and left a message. As of 08/06/19 no one has contacted me. Like I said, my in office experiences have been very good. However their phone menu leaves a lot to be desired and the office staff does not seem much better in this instance. How can I emphasize my appreciation enough to my surgeon, DR. PAUL ROETTGES, for all of his efforts in perfecting his knowledge, skill and instincts to be able to give me LIFE WITH NO PAIN? OMGGGG! Doctor Roettges is so kind and communicative, I never felt rushed during any of my appointments, pre or post op. He is also very modest about his SUPER SURGEON SKILLS! I had put off total hip replacement for too long. My surgery was anterior (from the front, do it that way!) hip replacement, and I kept wondering post op, "Um, where's the pain?". The beauty of this, is that no muscles are cut, so healing is so fast. I diligently did my physical therapy afterwards and was amazed how FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT was gloriously back again so soon. Every aspect of my life was improved, because every movement had been causing me pain (which is also TIRING throughout each day): Sleep, playing pickleball, standing, sitting, BENDING, walking, stairs, driving,.. the list goes on. No more wincing at every movement. The office staff: scheduling (Hi Emily!), communication, friendliness, timeliness, billing and the facility itself are perfect. You hear about "doctors in Florida, oh no!". On the contrary, we are sooo lucky to have Orthopaedic Assoc of St. Augustine right here locally! T H A N K Y O U !!! Also, Flagler Hospital provided great care for the surgery and anesthesiologist and nursing. I chose to stay 1 night, but could have even been released same day. read more
