Had they told me the price upfront from day one, I would have moved forward but their behavior seemed shady so I decided to not move forward because they lost my trust. I should have known it was a red flag when they tried to charge me $120 for a panoramic xray for the consultation visit. Xrays are covered under my insurance, but they're saying "somehow it's not covered" and I said oh don't worry, I already have an xray I took a month prior from my actual dentist and sent them the X-rays via email so they had no choice but to accept and remove the xray charge. I have the BEST dental insurance and somehow my treatment plan quote went from $653 to $770 to take out two top impacted wisdom teeth with laughing gas. Katie notified me by phone of the price increase a day before my surgery which is super unprofessional. Why did you wait literally a day to tell me before my surgery when I scheduled this appointment two weeks in advance. They had my insurance information the whole time. Also, IV sedation is covered under my insurance. I called my insurance directly and they said yes it is 80% covered for impacted wisdom teeth, but when I called back to confront Katie, a soft spoken gentleman picked up the phone and told me since they were not taking three or more wisdom teeth out, it would not qualify for iv sedation. They never even provided a predetermination to my insurance to even see IV sedation would get rejected so they were entirely lazy on their part. They pushed for me to get nitrous oxide (laughing gas) which is $300 out of pocket since laughing gas is not covered under my insurance. My family are health care professionals themselves and they advised I do not move forward because the front office tactics seem predatory to get the most money out of you. Dr. Le is a really nice doctor. However, I'm gonna follow my instincts because their office staff ruined this experience for me.

I knew that I needed to do it but I was scared. The last time I had teeth pulled was when I had my wisdom teeth removed and that was not fun. I finally had my consultation with Dr. Lee and he discussed my options and was helpful, informative and reassuring. The day arrived and I was first in at 8:00 am. I always thought I'd have to be "put under" to have teeth pulled (honestly, I wanted to but that's a pain too- that equals down time, no eating, etc) but NO! He had me inhale nitros oxide which numbs the mouth but I could still communicate with Dr. Lee. He was very calming and efficient. All I felt was a little pulling here and there but NO PAIN. Here's the magic: I was in my car, driving home at 8:31! WHAT? Yes! The numbing wore off, I had some gauze in my mouth for a few hours but by noon, I was back to normal. I took a Tylenol later in the day but that was the extent of my tooth extraction! If I had known how easy it was, I would have done it a lot sooner. That is the reason I'm writing this review. Dr. Lee and his people are helpful, efficient and informative. They're kind and make the visit a breeze. If you need any dental surgery, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Lee!

Sadly with the passing of Dr. Kanemaki (Lord rest his soul) and the selling of part of his practice, practically everyone there now is new. My 1st visit there last year was because my tooth had cracked and I needed a crown. Thankfully I got 1 out of the 2 original doctors left there treated me, but all the assistance were new. When I went back for the actual crown to be put in the assistant had a hard time getting it to fit right, it took quite a while and quite a few times for her to get it in. After that visit I felt as if my crown didn't feel right but I thought it maybe because I was feeling a little soreness from the amount of tries when putting it in and it being new. Unfortunately my crown continued to not feel right and then a little aching started, and unpleasant pain when chewing. I know I needed to go get it checked out but life got busy and I just delt with it until I couldn't take it anymore. Which brings me to present day, just about 1year after the original placing of my crown. I called and they were able to see me in 2 days. When I got there, once again everyone was new to me, and upon checking in the receptionist said she didn't see that I had an appointment. I explained to her that I had called 2 days ago and was told I could be seen on this day. She proceeded to tell me that she didn't see anything down for me and that maybe I called their other office. I said no, I called the office I'm in right now. Before she could say anything another gal there in the front office (who was on a call but I'm sure she heard everything) she jumped in and said to me "It's okay Ma'am have a seat, we will see you shortly." As I was waiting I was able to observe a few of the office staff and dental assistants doing their jobs, but not one of them looked familiar. When I got called back, there were 2 assistants clearly going back and forth as to who was going to take me (pretty awkward). But thankfully the assistant Floř that I ended up with was very very nice and friendly. I had asked her which doctor I was going to be seen by and she told me Dr. Robin. I asked if the original doctor I had seen last year was available. She said no, he was no longer there that he retired. I was a little sad to hear this news. I asked for the only 1 original doctor left which is Dr. Trent Kanemaki but he wasn't working in that office that day. Unfortunately he only works in the Buena Park office 2 days a week. So I was seen by Dr.Robin, she was very nice and thoroughly explained everything that may have been going on with my crown and what needs to be done to fix the problem. I now need a root canal, she referred me to see a specialist for evaluation & CT scan before proceeding with the root canal which is normally procedure. All in all despite the fact that I need a root canal, I feel good and am satisfied with the service & experience I received from Dr.Robin and dental assistant Floř. I would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the situation upon checking in. Hopefully everything works out great for my future appointments with ALL the staff there in the Buena Park office.
