This is a review of the bike shop. Holy cow where to start with this place-I moved from Oregon to…read moreFlorida. In Oregon, I always used REI for my e-bike service. In Florida now and I got a new e-bike. I just wanted street tires and tannus armor installed. I called REI Orlando three weeks ago to check on service and they said no problem, they could do that. I called again yesterday and I was told the same thing. They could do the service and to just bring it in and the shop opens at 9am. I brought the bike in at 9:15 and was told the bike shop was open but the guy that does the service didn't come in until 11. What? How is the bike shop open with no service?? I filled out the paperwork and was quoted 45 dollars for the tire swap. I left the bike and was told the shop guy would call at 11 regarding the work. I got a call at 11:05 and was quoted 270 dollars! I was also told "we don't work on e-bikes that we don't sell in the store but I will do it just this time." According to REI's corporate site this is not true. I was stuck at this point so I agreed on the price. I was told one hour and I would get an email saying to come get it. 2.5 hours later I finally called. The person on the phone went back to check on the bike and then came back on and said "what bike is it?" I said the e-bike getting the tires changed. He said, "oh the motorcycle!?" I said, no, it is an e-bike with pedals and no registration. He said. Ok the MOTORCYCLE is ready. I went into the shop and the bike shop guy seemed upset. He said, 'don't bring it back. I won't work on it again." Okay, sorry for spending money at your store. He then said "this is a moped and his bike stand could barely lift it." Oh please. I couldn't believe how rude they were after they agreed to the work and I just spent all that money. So sad I loved REI bike services in Oregon. Guess I'll find a better shop here in Florida.

They have this service where you ask a question and companies respond. So I asked who could fix my spoke on my wheel? I received several responses via text and I chose Full Circle Cycle. The cost for the service was reasonable consider (which I later found out) was not any easy fix. Fred explained everything to me about the fix and why the spoke broke in the first place. Yesterday (8/13) at around 4:15PM I bought a transformer from the store. Cost me $34. Unfortunately, it did not fit in the space I have. I took the item back today at around 12:00PM (8/14) with my receipt. I was told I could NOT get a refund for my item, even though I had my receipt. She didn't even open the box to check the item (I had repacked it the way it was sold to me). She asked her supervisor, and the supervisor also said no refund. The cashier told me there were no refunds on electrical items. I was not warned about this by the cashier when I bought the item. I was flabbergasted. I like to support local businesses, but that support only led this local business to spit back into my face. I will never use this Ace Hardware again. We will now make sure to go to the big box stores to guarantee we get a refund if something doesn't work, especially within the first 24 hours. I actually left the transformer with the cashier because I can't use it, and maybe someone else looking for one will be able to. I hope keeping my $34 was worth it to never have my business again.
