For five consecutive years here on our modern homestead, we have used the services of Justin at…read moreChimney Sweep Experts to clean our nearly 100 year old chimney and wood stove. From the first day we contacted Justin five years ago, he went above and beyond. Every interaction with Justin has been professional, prompt, thorough, respectful and honest. We know he has been honest because we heat our home with a wood stove and we have never had a chimney fire. Our chimney was built around 1930 and it does not have a chimney liner. We needed a professional that would go above and beyond because our family's well-being may have depended on his honesty. Each year we would call Justin to schedule an appointment and often times it was already autumn when we contacted him. Even when his schedule was booked up for a month out, it was well worth the wait. When the day & time of our appointment was near and the forecast was expecting rain, Justin made accommodations to clean our chimney a day early! Every year Justin would gladly answer any questions we had regarding our chimney, wood stove, or anything regarding burning wood for heat. Justin always inspected the chimney first, then cleaned the chimney from above on the rooftop and then from within the house, taking the stove pipes apart and vacuuming inside the pipes and chimney. Justin always left our home very clean and reminded us as he left that if we needed anything or had any questions to contact him. We truly felt like we were always a priority to him, even when we had to wait for an opening in his schedule. We find it unfortunate that we will be moving out of his service area after this year, since our homestead is being sold. It has been an absolute pleasure to hire Justin. He truly is an expert in every sense of the word. In the times in which we live, finding a real professional that is respectful and honest can be hard to come by. We truly believe that anyone hiring Justin at Chimney Sweep Experts will be very glad they did!

Duggins installed a new HVAC system for us during a remodel several years ago. A little over two…read moreyears ago, we found out (the hard way) that there were multiple issues with the installation. A dam inside the air handler was installed incorrectly which led to major water damage inside the house (HVAC is in attic) due to water blowing down the main air supply duct and leaking above a bathroom. Secondly, this was not detected initially because the water shut-off switch in the overflow pan was wired incorrectly, so the unit kept running even though the overflow pan was filled to the drain level. To their credit, Duggins did replace the dam and duct insulation which was waterlogged, at no charge. Now, this summer, we experienced a similar problem, though the water damage was not nearly as bad, caused by, you guessed it, the replacement dam being installed incorrectly. Again. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend that anyone use them for their HVAC work, based on our experience. Nice folks, but their workmanship is suspect.

I want to share my experience with Carolina Ductmasters so others can make informed decisions…read more After their work was completed, I later discovered that ductwork in my attic had been left disconnected. Over time, this may have allowed fiberglass insulation to be pulled into the system and circulate through my home. During this period, members of my household experienced skin irritation and breathing discomfort, which led us to investigate further and pursue repairs. The extent of the issue was not immediately apparent. When I raised concerns, communication was limited. The work appeared incomplete, and some equipment was left behind. Although I was told the entire system had been cleaned, the main trunk line did not appear to have been accessed. Management indicated that the issues would be addressed and mentioned possible refunds for service and replacement of some affected items, but these were not ultimately provided. I also requested proof of liability insurance, but it was not provided to me. Recommendations for others: * Verify liability insurance before hiring * Consider monitoring attic work when possible * Ask for clear explanations of what areas will be cleaned or serviced. This review reflects my personal experience and observations and is shared so others can be aware of potential concerns when hiring.

Backstory - my cat had peed several times in one of our bedrooms/ office. We kept the door closed…read moreso she couldn't do it anymore and tried to clean it ourselves with baking soda and vinegar. We don't use the room a lot so it wasn't too bad. But then we were having guest and they would be sleeping in there on an air mattress so we wanted the carpet cleaned. Most people don't call about one room. And everyone was quoting me well over 100$. The only place that wasn't was a big chain cleaner with a groupon. And even so most kept saying they would have to see and smell it before giving a final price. I saw an add for Turbo steam on the fence of a body yard and decided I'd give him a call. I explained the problem and he gave me a fair price with a very small window a variance. So I booked. He came and was quick, thorough and got the carpet super clean. He used a special enzyme for the cat pee. And when we moved the filing cabinets there was rust stains from us trying to clean around them. I thought he was going to charge more. Nope! He said nothing just went and got his special rust cleaner and cleaned it up. When he was leaving he even noticed a coffee stain on my entry way tile and gave it a quick scrub for funzzies. This is we're it gets good. Before he left he sprayed a little extra enzyme. As the days pasted the strong smell lingered and I got very worried. I called him and asked if he could come back again and shampoo the carpet to get more of the enzyme out because I procrastinated and had him come less then a week before the company arrived and I didn't have time to let the smell dissipate on its own. He came back without hesitation and charged nothing. And all this was 2 weeks before Christmas. The only criticism I can give is he isn't very chatty. People don't get their carpet cleaned very often and even though he knew what he was doing I did not. It would have been nice if he walked me around the room and said this is what I am going to do and use and here is the process and what to expect before starting. But I'm sure if I had been more present and inquisitive he would have explained. I wish I had taken before and after picture. Great local family owned small business!!!!
