I had my 04 VAN there for warranty work. Poof the VAN would not start. Post their starter change, every 3rd or 4th start the starter did not sound right during disengagement. I had time now so I ordered a NEW Bosch one. I used 3 different w/s to get the right part number. One of the sites was a GM site. I figured it was quicker time wise to just do it my self. The NEW Bosch was less than $200 and Deacon Jones Chevy is 25 minutes away. It only sounded bad 1 out of 3 or 4 starts which they would push back on probable. I pulled the old re -manufactured one they installed and starting comparing it to the NEW Bosch one. The old one had a 9 tooth pinion gear and the NEW Bosch one had an 11 tooth pinion gear. So MUCH more research and a call to my old Chevy Dealership in Wi. where i bought the extended VAN. Everything said the NEW 11 tooth was the right one. So if you look at my invoice they have it as a 04 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab. The vin on the invoice is my VAN's vin. So I looked up the starter for this erroneous 04 pickup with a 4.3 liter gas engine and it takes the installed 89018123 aka 323-1644D 9 tooth. The correct 04 VAN 6.0 liter Vortec gas engine starter is 89017630 aka 323-1622. So they installed the Silverado starter on my 3500 one ton Express Van 6.0 liter. I am lucky the wrong 9 tooth starter that THEY installed did not damage any of the Flywheel's teeth.

I took my 2007 Cadillac CTS to have the radio reprogrammed..sat there for 5 hours...was told I was…read moredone...the tech was supposedly on the phone with GM. I was told the radio was a discontinued model which makes sense for a 15 year old car... NOTHING was done...and they still charged $158. I have never known any repair shop that would charge anything if their item was not repaired... And I still don't have a working radio... talk about grand theft auto...never going back to any deacon jones facility again... and wouldn't recommend anyone else do
