However, my mechanic ( a friend of mine) informed me that C Q carries much higher quality parts. After researching and verifying this information, I've switched to C Q. On this particular day, I needed to replace my battery. As my mechanic buddy explained, a bad battery can overheat my alternator and ruin it. I certainly did not want to compound my problems nor increase the cost of my repair. This particular day I was in significant pain from a collapsed and herniated disc in my low back, and walking was difficult for me that day. I requested a quality battery, with a quality warranty. The clerk behind the counter quickly looked up my vehicle manufacture requirements and verified the battery for my vehicle was in stock. I purchased the battery, an AC Delco with a 42 month, full replacement warranty, and the clerk volunteered to carry it to my vehicle, as he took note on my condition. On the way asking me if my vehicle was the one it was going in. I let him know it was. He, volunteered to install it for me. I asked his name, Simon he responded. I asked Simon if they always volunteer to assist customers. Simon said that they typically go above and beyond in assisting their customers, and I was experiencing just that. I needed a new battery, but did not need to aggravate my injured back further. Simon was fast and efficient, and in small talk, he confirmed that operating a vehicle with a bad battery can overheat and destroy your alternator, verifying what my mechanic stated. exhibiting skills, knowledge and abilities, far beyond the typical clerk at an auto parts store. When Simon was finished with the install, he requested I follow him inside for the core exchange, and Simon carrying my old dead battery into the store.
Simon, a young (he is much younger than me) Hispanic complete gentleman, was polite, exceptionally professional and personable. He was a complete pleasure to deal with. Simon definitely went above and beyond is assisting me. When I went to leave, my car fired up without jumping it, for the first time that day. I do not look forward to future issues with my vehicles, but I do look forward to purchasing parts from C Q Auto in the future, for the smaller items I fix myself.
