I will never purchase anything at this business again and I'm heavy on the never. I told the salesman that I needed a bracket for my license plate, he assured me that I had the right part but he wasn't even knowledgeable on why I needed it for the front of my vehicle. after I made my purchase I went to macco for them to install it and at that time I was informed that I didn't have the right part. so I immediately went back to advance auto parts to return it now they did ask for my receipt but I had threw it a I had discarded it and I told the salesman I just purchased it less than an hour ago. He never told me that since I didn't have the receipt that I could only receive a gift card back. he only said for someone reason it's only allowing a gift card. so I called customer service and to no avail I still couldn't get my money back and was given a report # after a week no one has called. I called them today and give them the report # and now all of a sudden it's because I didn't have my receipt. I'm a woman and I don't work on cars or have any car issues, this is the worse experience I've ever had with a company. read more

Not a very customer oriented company. They purposely don't write their return policy on receipts as I found out the hard way today they have the shortest return policy of any Auto store (45 days). O'reilly is 60 days and Autozone is 90 days. A few days late and lifetime burn in my book. read more

I ended up going to Advanced auto parts on Gessner and Clay rd and they sure did help me! they even said it themselves that Long Point location is horrible all customers complaint about about that location. read more

I came here thinking I needed a new gas cap. Aaron not only walked to my car to inspect, but he also helped me realize my gas cap wasn't defective at all. He showed me that a piece of a gas pump was stopping my fuel cap from clicking. He helped in a timely manner and is a true professional would 10 stars if I could! read more

I went in on a Tuesday because I needed some battery terminals, but when I went up to to register the lady that was there I believe her name was Anabella did not want to help me find what I was looking for, and just told me to look for it myself because she was going to take a smoke break, I think her response could've been a little more professional from her part, and she probably needs to work more on her customer service read more

I was concerned about my car battery and wanted to get it tested to make sure it was still good. I was in and out of this store in maybe 5 minutes. Super fast, super friendly. They were able to confirm my battery was ok and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. Very personable and knowledgeable. I always feel lost in auto parts stores -- so many gears, unknown parts, lubricants, etc. However, the help here was fantastic. They are friendly, helpful. Now, I only needed a cleaning detergent, so I didn't really test their knowledge, but I'm sure they could find what you may need. There's lots of competition, as there are two additional auto parts stores just up the road on Gessner. Location-wise, this store is next to the Subway on the NE corner of Gessner and Long Point in a rather dismal strip center. Lots of parking out front, easy to get in and out. I went there to get my battery checked and left with a bad taste. The rep who assisted me wasn't of much help. He didn't want to go outside to check the battery, and later did but it was very forced. I then mentioned outside that this battery should be under warranty with advance auto parts and he asked if I bought it at that exact location, where I responded it was from another location, and he then said it wasn't going to be covered because they aren't "the same". I know this is a lie because I've done that at least once or twice in the past with bad batteries from there that were under warrantee and I've had zero problem. The rep whohelp me was an Asian man in his 30s with long hair up too but buzzed on side, and had tattoos on his arms. Very poor service. Will never go back again. read more

After getting ripped off at Sterling McCall Hyundai a few years ago, I started watching YouTube videos and doing my own car maintenance. Advance Auto Parts has the best coupons of the auto parts stores in Houston, and have been in to this location a few times to get parts for my car. I really like how you can order online (using the great coupon codes) and then pick up in store an hour later. This location has always been quick and I've never had issues with my orders. Today I was replacing my headlight bulbs and was having trouble getting the locking pins free. One of the employees, Juan, was a champ and helped me out. The ONLY reason I am even giving one star is because I have to, to leave this review. We bought a car battery in early November from this location. The guy that put the new battery in said, " I have never put a battery in a this type in this type of car." FIRST RED FLAG After 2 weeks my car would still not start. Took the car and battery back. They tested it on what they call an awesome machine. The battery passed. SECOND RED FLAG Fast forward.. March 1st. After 4 months of my car not starting on and off at certain times, I took the car to J&T Automative for HELP. Guess what?? On their awesome machine the battery came back... LOW VOLTAGE BATTERY!! It was the battery all along. THRID RED FLAG Took the battery back the store and once again they hooked it to their machine and said the battery was good. Told us to come back in 35 minutes and we would have more answers. We went back. However, they didn't put a load on the battery. The guy, Luis S, did not understand what " putting a load on the battery" meant. He would NOT refund our money at that time. He then said his GM would be there Monday and, " He didn't want that battery in his store and to get it out." FOURTH RED FLAG Monday 4:00PM...Once again BACK to this exact store. Walked in and Luis S said, " Your here about the battery?" Well of course. Said his GM would be there at 6:00 and gave us the GMs name and cell phone. We called and no answer. FIFTH RED FLAG Went back AGAIN at 6:05 on Monday. Luis S. was able to refund our $180.00 and said, " I am not going to deal with this anymore." As the GM sat in the back talking in the phone for all to hear. SIXTH RED FLAG. So after numerous trips and extreme frustration, we did get our money back. It is the worst experience EVER. I would not recommend anyone go to this store. They were not knowledgable about batteries and their customer service may be the worst I have ever experienced since moving to Houston. If you want no help and no support this is this the store from you. I hope anyone that reads this knows, I am serious, this store is awful and you will be treated with no professionalism at all.
