I said okay thanks and gave my information. Upon arrival, I go to check in and was talking with "gretta" outside... she got upset when I mentioned my appointment, I said yes I called in this morning to confirm so I can get in and out. "Well we can't have you out of here by 12, that's not how appointments work" "it just gets you the next spot in line" Had I known or been told that I would have drove down here first thing this morning and waited in line like everyone else. I asked what they have ahead of me... "They are working on an oil change and one tire" I said okay if they are already working on it, it shouldn't take that long.... She stormed off and refused to check my car in stating "im not checking you in because we can't have you done in 45-1hr .... Mind you Im just getting ONE tire put on... that I again called in for an appointment for this.....I went inside and spoke to a Jamaican gentleman (i can chat a little so I use his tone) she said off to the side "im not Jamaican" ... at this point he tells me he just works in the shop and cannot check my car in... Fine. I walk to the front call the store manager up and speak with him... He lets me know if I have a confirmed appointment they should be getting my car right in and directed me to his coach for auto care. I meet her in the back and she checks my car in, and I thank her. Here's the kicker... while waiting I was shopping around and overheard from the next isle over the COACH AND SAID ASSOCIATE gossiping about me and saying I called her "slurs" ... and laughing about refusing to check my car in. Im not sure what there is to gossip about when your auto care center set the APPOINTMENT. Also I never called anyone out of their name. If I had known I still have to wait in line regardless of an appointment I would have just come in first thing this morning after confirming they had the tire I needed in stock. I would follow up with coaches and associates on the definition of "appointment" and to let guests know ahead of time that it doesn't actually mean anything and they have to wait anyway.... I would also follow up about isle gossip especially since I was in the next isle over and they didn't realize I was hearing the entirety of their conversation... which was a lot of lies from "Miss Gretta". I would expect a higher level of professionalism from a "Coach" At the end of the day I am not begging for a service but I am paying.

I recently visited O'Reilly's to have my car battery tested and to get some insight on a strange…read moresmell and smoke coming from one of my tires. While I appreciate that the staff attempted to help, the experience left me feeling more confused and uneasy than reassured. After mentioning the issue, I was told rather abruptly that my car was at risk of sparking and blowing up while driving -- a very alarming statement to make without any thorough inspection. We went inside to get the assistant manager, who admitted she didn't know what to do and quickly brought out another team member. They then stated that wires were burning from the inside out. As for the battery test, no clear explanation was given after the initial check. When we followed up to ask if it needed replacement, the employee suddenly said, "Actually, yes," and started quoting voltage numbers off the top of his head -- without referencing the machine that had tested the battery. It felt like the numbers may have been made up to pressure us into purchasing a new one. Before the employees even offered any real solutions, we had already called a trusted family friend who understands cars well. After we explained the situation over the phone, he was able to walk us through exactly what was happening -- without seeing the car or even looking at any numbers. His insight made complete sense and ultimately helped us resolve the issue, long before the workers at O'Reilly's gave us their alarming and inconsistent assessments Another customer nearby -- a father who had been listening -- even expressed concern that we were being taken advantage of. I understand that not every situation has an easy answer, but I left feeling like I couldn't trust the advice I was given. I hope this feedback helps improve the clarity, professionalism, and accuracy of communication in the future.

Drove straight to the mary Esther location-about 20 minutes-where I was informed that the filter was now already on its way to the Destin location, the complete opposite way of home and from where I just came. Called the Destin location to speak with Michael but he was already gone for the day, I was told I'd get a call when the filter came in but that was four days ago and still nothing. The poor guy helping me at mary Esther location said it wasn't possible for him to process my refund and profusely apologized even though it wasn't his fault, he said it happens all the time. I've been a loyal oreillys customer for years while living out west but that has now changed.

At the time I did not know if the problem was the battery or the alternator. I talked with these guys and they were able to get me a battery at a better price than Walmart but also said that they had a couple shops that could change the alternator the same day if needed. They stock lots of foreign parts so they had my alternator in stock. Thankfully the problem was only the battery.

The owner called me after a week to say the ticking was coming from the bottom of the car, not the top, and needed new cams/bearings for $3k or it could catastrophically fail. I agreed. The ticking is still there, and it's painfully obvious (they said they test drove it and it was fine). I called five times over the course of two weeks trying to speak to someone about it to find out whether I should bring it back in or not. The manager said I wasn't allowed to speak to a mechanic, but he'd have someone call. No one called. I've maintained this BMW myself since 2018, so I decided to run the diagnostic myself. It ended up being a completely different problem, so I'll be taking it elsewhere to get the repair done. It would have helped me tremendously to know if the cams/bearings were actually out of limits, but they didn't even bother documenting it on the bill. They got $3k out of me, but they lost a customer.
