My brakes were going out while on vacation So I called around and called D'luxe for a quote on just front brakes the guy on the phone quoted me $160.00. Cool!!! I get there to the garage and the guy said it would be the price he quoted me but it was a one hour wait. The mechanic who was the same that quoted me on the phone asked where I from and then asked if I had called another shop in the area. I told him I called a shop down the road who quoted me $260.00. The mechanic at then saw Texas on my truck and said hold on let me check my something on my computer. About five minutes later he said yeah I'm gonna have to order your brake pads which are special order and it going to cost more as well as labor so it going to cost $240.00. I was like wow!!! He then said it's cheaper in Texas. Price gouging is terrible here. read more

Outstanding workmanship and customer service! A golf buddy on a Saturday during a round recommended D'Luxe for auto body repair as the bumper on my Porsche needed to be repaired and painted. So I called D'Luxe after the round on Saturday. To my surprise, D'Luxe was open and I talked with a gentleman named Eddie who turned out to be the owner. Eddie was about to close for the day and offered to stay late if I wanted to stop by to get a quote. So I stopped by and Eddie personally gave me a quote which was almost half of the other quote I received. While there, I learned D'Lux also completed engine repair. A Service Now and Check Engine message had appeared a couple weeks earlier. Plus I was having issues with my convertible top closing. The Porsche dealership told me it would cost $950 to clear the Service Now message as it requires a check-up to clear the message and that only they could clear the message. Basically a $450 oil change and $500 to turn off the Service Now message. They estimated the Check Engine repair would cost another $1,000 and another $500 to repair the roof. Total estimate $2,450. The D'Luxe team cleared the Service Now message, completed the necessary repair associated with the Check Engine message, fixed the convertible top, changed the oil, and repaired and repainted the front and rear bumper for less than $1,600....$800 of the $1,600 was for the body work. So the repairs the Porsche dealership wanted $2,450 to complete, D'Luxe completed for ~$800! I took the money I saved and had D'Luxe replace the tires also. While the repairs were taking place, Covid-19 hit and I ended up getting stranded at my place in Colorado as I was spring skiing and was uncomfortable flying back to Destin. Eddie took my Porsche to my storage facility when the repairs were completed, put on the cover I had in the front trunk, and locked the storage unit. Talk about fantastic customer service! DO NOT GO HERE my friend bought a car and got the month warranty , they REFUSED to look at the fuel injectors because they said that there was no problem (it took a few minutes for another mechanic to realize that they need to be replaced- going to cost $700 out of pocket) The bottle for the windshield wiper fluid was cracked so they ordered a new one to replace it. They GLUED IT TOGETHER instead of replacing it. Won't answer his calls or get back to him. Took two days for the check engine light to come on after he bought the car. DONT GO HERE read more

STAY AWAY! BEWARE! Took to this garage while on vacation due to engine overheating and was overcharged for unnecessary parts and labor from this completely incompetent and inexperienced garage. A certified mechanic from a reputable shop quickly noticed unnecessary parts and labor. A $200 thermostat would have fixed issue while this garage tried to charge over $1000 to put on a new unnecessary water pump to run up bill. Then they tried to charge even more when they could not even take off mounting bolts to get to water pump. It's a shame shops like this take advantage of vacationers in a town that exists for this reason. Backyard garage mechanics like this give the certified mechanics a bad reputation. read more

I recently purchased a Mercedes Benz S550. It has the airmatic air suspension system. Wonderful ride but potentially expensive to repair. About a month ago my left front strut failed. This was Friday evening. On Saturday I went online and found D'luxe automotive. I called and spoke the owner Eddie. I was pleased they were open. He had a truck nearby that could pick up my car and take it to his shop. I live in Panama City Beach, about 45 miles from Destin. I looked online hoping to get an idea of the cost to repair the car. I saw that there's a manufacturer here in Florida called Arnott industries that makes a replacement strut for my Mercedes for less than $500.00. I also watched a few videos on YouTube that showed the labor should be less than two hours. Based on that I figured $800.00 to $900.00 with $1000.00 being the absolute high end. On Monday Eddie called with the estimate. I had three options. The strut from Mercedes was about $1300.00. The Arnott strut was about $1100.00. Finally a remanufactured strut was about $900.00. I told him I had been online and seen the Arnott strut for about $500.00. He insisted that was not possible. I did not want to argue and just wanted my car back. I thought about 200.00 to 300.00 for labor so about $1400.00 total, still pretty high. He quoted a labor rate of $95.00 an hour. The next day I went to pick up the car. I had to rent a car and due to Covid-19 I had to drop it at the airport. I was hoping someone from his shop could pick me up, but no such luck. I took an Uber to his shop. When I arrived the bill was over $1600.00. He said he had called Arnott and there was no way he could purchase the strut for the price I had seen online, that it must be a return or something wrong with it, etc. 3.5 hours labor to replace one strut. $450.00. 95 x 3.5 doesn't equal 450.00. Plus $57.00 disposal fee and $20.00 shop fee. So over $500.00 labor. To show you how honest I am I even mentioned that he had not included my towing charge. So he redoes the bill and now it is $1750.00. You might think if he charging Mercedes dealer pricing he would wash and vacuum the car. Not a chance. The dealer would have done it. I also thought later that since there's a market for remanufactured struts he probably sold mine and made money on that, although I can't prove it. I think there are different business philosophies. One is to make as much money from the customer and not care about repeat business. The other is to be fair to the customer and the get a lot of repeat business. I think Eddie falls into the first category. I forgot to mention his Ferrari which I feel like I am helping to pay for. I will not be returning and I would advise others to shop elsewhere. read more

The men at D'luxe were able to resurface and paint my bumper after I was rear ended on 98. The finished product looked better than the factory paint. They also detailed my car inside and out and even removed pine tar stains that I have been unable to clean off the paint. I am very satisfied with the service. read more

Of course I have car troubles on a 10 hour journey to Destin... It was just a crappy battery that needed to be replaced. We jumped the car a couple of times on the way there. This was the first place closest to our resort that had high ratings. Given that this is a tourist town, I trusted that the reviews are not just from friends and family from the town, and that they're honest feedback from satisfied customers. Eddie greeted me when they opened. Super friendly and young guy who shared his story about how he built up the business from limo service to auto shop, and still doing both. We chatted while we waited for the new battery to be delivered from the store a block away. Instead of charging for the full hour of diagnostics, even if the problem is simple and doesn't require an hour like other shops I've been to, Eddie charged me only $25 or so, plus the cost of the battery with no markup. He even apologized for taking "so long" even though it took less than an hour from the time they were able to look at it. (It wasn't on them that I showed up early, but the whole process was still less than 1.5 hr.) I hope other tourists who find themselves in car problems will continue to read these reviews and give Eddie our business.
