We asked about their tool loaner program -- something they publicly advertise. The older gentleman who first greeted us had a crumby attitude from the start. He seemed irritated by our presence, cut us off mid-sentence, and quickly denied us without much explanation. His tone and body language made us feel completely unwelcome -- and frankly, it felt like more than just a bad mood. On the flip side, the younger guy with glasses was polite, helpful, and really tried to assist us. Unfortunately, the older employee kept butting in and overriding everything, refusing to let us borrow tools even though the younger guy was clearly willing to help. It was frustrating and disappointing. We left feeling disrespected and turned to Advance Auto down the street -- where we were helped without judgment or hassle. If O'Reilly wants to represent themselves as a reliable stop for travelers and folks in a pinch, they need to take a look at who they've got at the front counter.

They advertise a lottery promotion where you think you might win a big prize, but all they give you is a $2 lottery ticket. It's a bait-and-switch tactic and completely misleading. To make it worse, the staff was rude when I questioned the process, and they collect sensitive personal information without explaining how it's used. This violates the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Act (Chapter 93A). If you were also scammed, send a 30-day demand letter and report them to the Attorney General and Better Business Bureau. Instead of fixing the issues they charged me $200 to confirm that indeed the truck was throwing a code and the block heater cord needed replace (they originally wanted $400). I spent an hour there as well as the $200 and my vehicle still needs repair. They did indicate that if I had the work done I would get the $200 credited to the bill. The estimate was outrageous! Over $400 to replace a FILTER. Remove 8 bolts and install a $130 part, reverse the process. Maybe 1/2 hour of labor. NO way! Again go somewhere else!

I explained my car is not AWD it is FWD and they have switched the exact same tires on the exact same vehicle last year. The Manager said "well, actually one of the treads on one of my tires is worn and I would have to buy a new tire." So I asked are you saying you can't switch my tires because there is a worn tread on one of the tires or because you believe my car is AWD. He said "well it says AWD when I look it up." I got the sense they just didn't want to do the tire switch. I made a complaint to the General Store Manager. She said she was going to be sure the complaint was filed, but I seriously doubt it. Would strongly advise not going to the Hinsdale Walmart for any automotive reasons.

I bought a 2017 Ford Explorer here 11 months ago. Within 3 months I had to replace the water pump…read morewhich cost me $3k. I called to see if there was anything they could do even a slight discount. The answer was no - along with giving me an estimate for even more than Midas gave me. A few months after that the explorer was having issues with acceleration. It would hit high rpm with normal acceleration & be jerky- I found out I needed a tune up and all spark plugs to be replaced- something I believed they said they did. I was also told I needed at least one of the catalytic converters replaced 1200(for one) & there was a hole in the flex pipe. I got the tune up, spark plugs replaced & the hole in the flex pipe repaired (as a more affordable option than replacing it) $850 -but have yet to get the catalytic converters replaced $$$ as emissions isn't due yet. A few months after that I found that the rear differential was leaking and it needed to be resealed $1250 & one of the wheel bearings needed to be replaced $500. The next project is figuring out what is wrong with the AC. When I bought it they said it just needed to be recharged and if I come back in they will recharge it for free which I did. Well that lasted a few months before it started blowing hot air again. Now that the summer heat is coming I need to fix the AC. Did they sell me a lemon? I think so.... Buy a used vehicle here at your own peril.
