I bought a 2017 Ford Explorer here 11 months ago. Within 3 months I had to replace the water pump which cost me $3k. I called to see if there was anything they could do even a slight discount. The answer was no - along with giving me an estimate for even more than Midas gave me. A few months after that the explorer was having issues with acceleration. It would hit high rpm with normal acceleration & be jerky- I found out I needed a tune up and all spark plugs to be replaced- something I believed they said they did. I was also told I needed at least one of the catalytic converters replaced 1200(for one) & there was a hole in the flex pipe. I got the tune up, spark plugs replaced & the hole in the flex pipe repaired (as a more affordable option than replacing it) $850 -but have yet to get the catalytic converters replaced $$$ as emissions isn't due yet. A few months after that I found that the rear differential was leaking and it needed to be resealed $1250 & one of the wheel bearings needed to be replaced $500. The next project is figuring out what is wrong with the AC. When I bought it they said it just needed to be recharged and if I come back in they will recharge it for free which I did. Well that lasted a few months before it started blowing hot air again. Now that the summer heat is coming I need to fix the AC. Did they sell me a lemon? I think so.... Buy a used vehicle here at your own peril. read more

PSA for folks who receive a similar "scratch-off" mailer from Brattleboro Ford as part of their "beat the house" event: it's a blatantly deceptive scam. The mailers are designed to make it look like you won a big prize, but the scratch-off portion has no bearing on the contest, other than to make you think you won something. If you call, they'll confirm that you "are a prize winner," but when you show up in person it turns out that you'll have won a $2 lottery ticket, and oh, can they sell you a car while you're here? (Presumably there are real prizes, etc. etc., but it's still a scam.) Presumably places like Brattleboro Ford do this kind of thing because they believe the extra traffic it drums up is worth more than any customer dissatisfaction it creates. And maybe it is! But I, for one, will go out of my way to avoid ever giving a dime to Brattleboro Ford and I encourage others to let them know what we think about their deceptive business practices. Totally incompetent is my new experience after only 6 weeks. What seemed like a smooth transaction has turned into a total nightmare. Didn't pay off my trade and I have to now make a second payment on a vehicle I no longer own as well as make 1st payment on the new one. Nothing but excuses ! Buyer beware !!! Do not recommend. AVOID!! A scam!! I only wish I had read the other negative Google Reviews before wasting my day off on their fake mailer. It said that I had won $25K .... I called the number on the flyer AND the number of the dealership, and was assured it was not a scam, I HAD won, and to come on in. When I got there, they jokingly commented about the age of my old car that I drove up in - making me feel insulted on top of foolish. They sent us a scratch off mailer and it said we won $10,000 or an ATV. We called the number listed to verify it wasn't just a way to get ppl to the dealership and the woman on the phone, after reading the "verification number" said we indeed won the one $10,000 prize. So drove down there, wasted my gas and TIME to pick up the prize as directed to find out we didn't win anything but a lottery ticket. WE WERE BLATANTLY LIED TO. The AUDACITY of this company to waste our time like this is unbelievable. This mailer is a SCAM and this business is disgusting to do this to people, especially getting people's hopes up and wasting a Sunday driving all the way TF out there because they blatantly LIED. They wanted to sell me a used Audi at a good price. So I just asked to make sure it had an inspection sticker (they do state inspection on-site). That turned out to be a deal-breaker - the car couldn't pass inspection, and to get it repaired so it would, would raise the price significantly. So they tried to pass off junk without telling me the full condition of the car. And they wonder why "car salesman" is shorthand for shady dealer. read more

Do not do business with Brattleboro Ford! Purchased a preowned truck that made it home and has been in the shop for the past 30 days. They passed the repairs off to my local dealership which is now stuck trying to fix transmission issues that were there when I bought it. They insisted on processing my out of state registration and I had have yet to receive it and if my truck weren't in the shop I couldn't even drive it as the registration is nowhere to be found. Bill the manager won't get on the phone or help solve any of my issues and the salesman has left the dealership! Horrible experience! Run from this place. read more

LOTTERY TICKET EVENT IS A SCAM. Like many car dealerships, Brattleboro Ford is scummy with lots of fake Google reviews (seriously, the most recent review thanks salesman Derek Daigle and a few days ago an account named Derek Daigle wrote a review about his great experience here - read through recent reviews closely and you will see most are fake). Their ongoing "lottery" sales stunt takes dealership scumminess to a particularly malicious level. I received a Brattleboro Ford "lottery ticket" in the mail and scratched it off to find that I had won a prize of $10,000 or an ATV. I was pretty sure this was a scam of some sort, so I called the prize hotline they have listed on the "lottery ticket" and asked them if I had in fact won the $10,000 prize. The woman on the line said that yes, I had in fact won the cash prize, and I only needed to come to the dealership to claim it. I was still doubtful, but it wasn't a long drive to the dealership and the woman had clearly confirmed that I had won the prize, so I (foolishly) figured there was a chance I might have legitimately won and I went there this morning to find out. A salesman named Jerry welcomed me immediately and walked me and my girlfriend inside. He asked for our vehicle information and mileage and we told him, but we said that we weren't interested in trading in our cars and were just here to claim the prize. Jerry then said that we could win the $10,000 prize if our "invitation #" on the lottery ticket matched one of the four #s on their "prize board." I told him that this was disingenuous, as the woman I had spoken to over the phone told me that I had indeed won the prize. He said it wasn't disingenuous, because I would still win a prize if my prize # didn't match up, but instead of $10,000, I would win a $2 lottery ticket. Of course, my number did not match up (I bet that none do). I told Jerry that this was a scam and the dealership shouldn't deceive people so blatantly. He laughed and said "well we're selling lots of cars from it, sir." Erik Kirste, dealer principal, and all employees who are complicit in this scheme should be ashamed of themselves.
