I always come here to buy a lot of things for my car, a lot of times I just don't know where things are and which one is right for my car so I always ask for help. But today I needed help finding coolant and windshields liquid and the guy behind the counter was giving me attitude and was pointing and and yelling, he was very professional, he didn't even wanted to do his job, he was on the phone talking and j was waiting to check out, he was not paying attention to my question. This place need a good supervision... everyone else seems to be nice especially the ladies. But this guy Carlos has bad attitude when you ask him where things are. There's good and bad here. The good, once you get to speak with someone help as fast and accurate. The bad news is that this place is so busy I had to wait 20 minutes just to talk to somebody. It's also good and that people obviously trust the people who work here and I do too. I was pretty upset waiting 20 minutes and people cutting in the line until I got to the guy and spoke to him. He thanked me for waiting blah blah blah and help me get the car part that I needed. I think I would go to a different store next time just because this one is so busy but it's only one in the area and it was convenient. A very convenient store which has a lot of supplies for the car enthusiast and amateur mechanic. The prices are generally fair, and they are able to order many specialty parts. However, they are in a bad neighborhood. Nothing has ever happened to me while there, but when I asked for an OBD reader at 8:30pm I was told that the employees are not allowed outside after dark and that they have been robbed twice. read more

They didn't have the car lug nuts we needed but it looked like they had everything else. We did buy some AA batteries that were on sale here, and, wouldn't you know it, the batteries died very quickly. So we won't be back here. read more

Every time I come to this Advanced AutoParts, these employees are absolutely AMAZING! For whatever reason, I always choose to come at the worst time too. I came here tonight 10 minutes before closing, 80% sure I had a bum battery, but the only way to test it was to shut my car off...we shut my car off and and sure enough, it had shit the bed. Edrian reassured me, he would take care of me and not to worry....and he did. Thank you! I haven't had a bad experience yet and even if I'm closer to another location, I prefer to drive the extra miles just to get the well rounded quality service these guys give me! I haven't been coming to this store long but I am now there 3-4 times a week. I am impressed by the customer service there and especially Mario. I am always greeted and helped any way that I can be. The people there really go out of there way to make sure you leave with everything you need. Compared to other advance auto parts stores they are much more friendly. I want to give a HUGE shout-out to Edrian who helped me at Advance today. He was so nice and so patient in helping me make sure I had the right parts to take back to my mechanic. He went above and beyond, taking extra time to compare the new parts to the old and even calling the mechanic. He was great! He even offered to help me carry the parts to my car. This was my favorite Auto parts store for many years until recently when I tried to return new unopened/un-boxed parts I bought at this store. The store clerk refused to give me any kind of credit because I could not find my receipt. Here is the kicker, the clerk keyed my name in computer and confirmed I made the purchase then told me there's nothing he can do since I don't have my receipt. I happened to be buying wipers at a different Advanced Auto months later and explained what had happened. The clerk at this Advanced Auto told me it might be that particular clerk who wants to give me a hard time and that I should try returning parts again. I was at Advance Auto a few months later buying headlights for my mom's car and asked the clerk If I could return the parts. He looked up my name,confirmed my purchase and told me it would be OK to return the parts for store credit, even though it had passed 90 days. Once again, I tried to returning the parts only to be turned away. In the back of my mind I am thinking a store would not be that unwilling to give store credit to a loyal customer so decided to try a 3rd time and was turned down for the third time. I told the clerk I would call corporate. He had a smirk on his face and quickly handed me a business card as if to say be my guest. I called corporate, without any exaggeration or name calling, I explained the whole thing keeping in mind the store's 90 return policy. Corporate approved my exchange and I was able to get store credit. This time I was fortunate to deal with the general manager who was a true professional. Once I use my store credit that's it for me and Advanced Auto. I will never spend another dime at Advanced and I am sharing my experience with family, friends neighbors and social network. read more

My experience at the store (09011) located at 2510 University Blvd. E, Hyattsville, MD was HORRIBLE!! Danny (store manager) and Santos were the two laziest persons I ever came across and they are also "scary liars". I went to the Hyattsville store (2510 University Blvd. E) to complete a simple return of a radiator I had purchased that same morning from another store and I had the worst experience ever. 1st: this was the second radiator I purchased from Advance Auto Parts (AAP) that was leaking so I had to return it. 2nd: I had to pay my mechanic to install and remove the leaking AAP radiator then install properly functioning radiator. My labor cost was twice as much!!! I still have the first radiator ($423.00) installed and removed by the mechanic to return to AAP! 3rd: I arrived at the University Blvd. E. store ~9:45 am and indicated to Santos that I intend to return the product, he looked in the box for approximately 30 seconds, then while I stood there he spoke to Danny in Spanish (I don't speak Spanish) and reply that he was unable to accept the return as the price of the product exceeded a monetary value. I immediately push back, stating that I've never heard of this policy and the need to provide me with AAP return policy statement. Danny intervened at this point and flatly stated that this was his policy and if I didn't like it I can take my business elsewhere. On the phone with the Customer Care representatives Santos (while standing in my presence) told the rep that he was unable to complete the return as he scanned my receipt and the transaction was open at the purchasing store. That statement was completely false, as I called the purchasing store myself and they state the purchase was properly completed. It too over 1 hour and ~5 phone calls with AAP customer service agents, customer care operators and the sore I purchased the product to have the matter resolve. 4th: As a customer I wasted my morning at University Blvd. E store trying to complete a simple return that should have taken 2-5 minutes at best. They finally complete the return transaction at 11:09 am; only after I got the Territory Manager involve in the situation. I will never again set foot into Advance Auto Parts store located on University Blvd. E.......Danny and Santos are the two laziest people I've come across in a long time! 5th: I'm not into writing poor reviews, but this was a horrible experience at AAP I felt the need to share. read more

Friendly staff n seem car knowledgeable. Have been in many times of day/days of wk n usually only long lines on Sun. Clean store, organized, well stocked. Parking lot can be congested on weekends. Can order most rare parts or visit larger location around the corner. Has really improved over last couple yrs. Return policy can be a pain but manager has worked with me on one occasion. read more
